The boxes had only been sitting in the new home for a few hours, but the open space already felt like it belonged to them.
She stood carefully in the middle of the living room, heavily pregnant with quadruplets, one hand resting beneath her enormous belly while the other held onto the edge of an unopened box. Moving had been exhausting, and every few minutes she had to stop and catch her breath.
Her husband came through the doorway carrying another box.
“Please tell me that's the last one,” she said, giving him a tired smile.
“Definitely the last one.”
She raised an eyebrow.
“Okay, probably not.”
Despite her exhaustion, she laughed. “I knew it.”
They worked together slowly. He handled the heavier boxes while she focused on smaller things—folding blankets, arranging kitchen items, and deciding where everything should go. Whenever she needed a break, she lowered herself carefully onto the couch while he continued unpacking.
At one point, she felt a series of movements beneath her hands and paused.
“They're awake again,” she murmured.
Her husband smiled and knelt beside her, placing a hand gently against her belly.
“Already helping us unpack?”
“Apparently they're impatient to see the new place.”
He kissed her forehead before standing again.
“Then we'd better make it comfortable for them.”
She looked around their new home—the scattered boxes, half-finished rooms, and sunlight pouring through the windows. It wasn't perfect yet, but with her husband beside her and their four babies on the way, it already felt like home.

The man noticed the book sitting alone on the library table.
It had no title, no author, and not even a symbol on its plain black cover. Curious, he picked it up and opened to the first page.
There was only one sentence:
Turn the page, and become what the story says you are.
He frowned, but turned the page.
Almost immediately, something felt different. His voice softened when he whispered the words aloud. He touched his throat, puzzled by the subtle change, then looked down at the page again.
He turned another page.
His face began to change. His jaw gradually softened, his features becoming finer and more feminine. He hurried to a nearby mirror, only to discover that the transformation was already visible.
“No… what is happening?”
He turned another page.
His hair grew longer, falling around his shoulders. His eyebrows reshaped, his cheeks became softer, and the masculine contours of his face continued to fade. The book seemed to grow warmer in his hands, as though it wanted him to continue.
He tried to close it.
The cover wouldn't move.
Another page turned beneath his trembling fingers.
His shoulders narrowed. His build became slimmer, and the remaining masculine features of his body gradually disappeared, replaced by distinctly feminine ones. His clothes shifted subtly with the changing shape of his body.
He stared at his reflection, unable to recognize himself.
Yet the book remained open.
On the next page, the words were different:
You are almost finished becoming the woman written into these pages.
He hesitated.
Then, slowly, he turned the page.
The transformation continued. His face completed its change, leaving him with a distinctly feminine appearance. His hair settled around his shoulders, and even his voice, when he nervously spoke his own name, sounded unfamiliar.
He looked down at the book.
The final page contained only a single sentence:
Now close the book.
He did.
The instant the cover shut, everything became still.
He stood before the mirror for several long seconds, staring at the woman looking back at him.
Then he looked at the mysterious book in his hands.
Its cover was no longer blank.
A title had appeared.
HER STORY.

The woman sat alone in the corner of the café, still trying to understand what had happened to her.
Only an hour ago, she had been someone else entirely. Now she was sitting there with long hair falling over her shoulders, unfamiliar feminine features reflected in the dark window beside her, and a voice that no longer sounded like the one she remembered.
She still didn't even have a name.
Her hands wrapped nervously around a cup of coffee as she stared at her reflection.
"Who am I supposed to be now?" she whispered.
"That's a pretty big question for a Tuesday afternoon."
She looked up.
A man stood beside her table, holding his coffee and offering an apologetic smile.
"Sorry," he said. "I didn't mean to overhear."
She gave a nervous laugh. "It's okay."
He glanced toward the empty chair.
"Would you mind if I sat here? Everywhere else seems to be taken."
She hesitated, then nodded.
"Sure."
He sat down.
"I'm Daniel."
She paused.
The question she expected came next.
"And you?"
But he didn't ask.
Instead, he simply smiled and said, "Nice to meet you."
Something about that made her chest tighten.
She had spent the entire day feeling like she was disappearing—losing everything familiar about herself with every turn of that mysterious book. Yet this stranger wasn't looking at her like she was a mystery to solve.
He was just talking to her.
They started with small conversation. The weather. The terrible coffee. The music playing quietly over the speakers.
Eventually, Daniel noticed how nervous she seemed.
"You don't have to tell me anything you aren't ready to tell me," he said. "But you look like you've had a very strange day."
She stared at him.
"You have no idea."
He smiled.
"Then maybe I'll buy you another coffee."
She laughed for the first time since the transformation began.
"Why?"
"Because you look like you need one."
They talked for hours.
She never told him about the nameless book. She couldn't explain how she had become the woman sitting across from him.
But Daniel listened anyway.
When the café began closing, he stood and offered his hand.
"I'd really like to see you again."
She looked at his hand, then at his warm expression.
"For some reason," she said quietly, "I feel like I've been waiting to meet you."
Daniel smiled.
"Funny. I was thinking the same thing."
She took his hand.
Neither of them knew it yet, but this ordinary café meeting would become the beginning of something extraordinary.
Years later, when they looked back on the day they met, Daniel would always insist that he had known immediately.
She would tease him for being ridiculous.
But secretly, she would remember the feeling.
The moment she had been completely lost...
and somehow, at a little café on an ordinary afternoon, found the person who would become her future husband.
