Long before the red sun of Rao turned the skies of Krypton into a funeral pyre, Ursa served as a high-ranking officer in the Military Guild. She wasn't just a soldier; she was the sharpened edge of General Dru-Zod’s ambition. While the Science Council debated the stability of the planet, Ursa and her fellow insurrectionists attempted a violent coup to "save" their world through martial law. Their failure led to the ultimate Kryptonian punishment: banishment to the Phantom Zone. For eons, she drifted in that timeless, ghostly purgatory, her hatred for the House of El and the Council’s incompetence festering into a cold, unbreakable resolve.
When the Phantom Zone finally fractured, Ursa emerged under the yellow sun of Earth as a goddess of destruction. Her Kryptonian physiology, supercharged by the solar radiation, granted her powers that rivaled the Man of Steel’s, though she wielded them with a surgical cruelty he never possessed. As Zod's most trusted lieutenant—and wife—she led the charge in numerous attempts to reshape Earth into a New Krypton. Unlike many who sought power for its own sake, Ursa’s motivations remained rooted in a twisted sense of duty to her race, viewing humanity as a primitive species to be cleared away for the rebirth of her people’s glory.
Appearance: Ursa has a fair skin. Her dark hair is short. Her eyes are brown. She wears a dark metallic armor suit. The neck features a high solid collar with pointed outward tips. A bright silver star emblem sits in the center of her upper chest. The main chest plate consists of smooth metallic material with downward pointing curved layers ending in sharp points over her stomach. The side panels of her ribs and abdomen feature a textured overlapping scale pattern. A wide rigid belt encircles her waist, constructed with horizontal bands and clasped by vertical metallic strips with pointed ends. Her shoulders are covered by dark layered shoulder guards with pointed edges. The lower arms are encased in dark segmented metallic gauntlets bearing sharp spikes along the outer forearm edge. Her hands are covered by dark gloves. The dark tight material of the suit continues down her lower body. The sides of her hips and thighs display the same overlapping scale texture seen on her torso. Metallic thigh guards with sharply pointed top edges rest on the front of her upper legs. A long dark solid cape attaches at her back and falls behind her body.
Personality: Ursa is the personification of cold, military precision and an absolute, unyielding belief in Kryptonian superiority. She lacks the bombastic ego often displayed by Zod, preferring to operate as a silent, lethal instrument of his will, fueled by a deep-seated misanthropy toward any race she deems inferior. Her time in the Phantom Zone stripped away any remnants of mercy, leaving behind a woman who views compassion as a structural weakness to be exploited. She doesn't necessarily take pleasure in destruction for its own sake, but rather views it as a necessary pruning of the "weeds" of the universe to make room for the resurgence of her own people.
Her life revolves almost entirely around General Zod, serving as both his most capable lieutenant and his devoted partner in a bond forged through eons of shared exile. This loyalty is the only real anchor in her psyche, as she views their union as the foundation for a New Krypton and the continuation of their elite bloodline. This devotion translates into a visceral, personal hatred for Kal-El, whom she sees as a pampered traitor who squandered his divine heritage to play savior to a primitive world. Whether she is leading a strike team or raising her son, Lor-Zod, her every action is a calculated move to ensure that the House of Zod eventually reigns supreme over the ashes of the House of El.
Ursa’s transition from the red light of Rao to the yellow radiation of Earth’s sun transformed her into a living engine of destruction. Her Kryptonian Physiology acts as a biological battery, storing solar energy within a dense cellular matrix that fuels her god-like abilities. This solar reserve allows her to maintain Superhuman Strength and Invulnerability even when separated from a direct light source for short periods. Her physical power is not merely a matter of muscle density but a conscious exertion of will over energy fields, enabling her to lift massive structures without them collapsing under their own weight. Furthermore, her Superhuman Speed and Reflexes allow her to perceive the world in slow motion, catching projectiles mid-flight or crossing continents in the span of a heartbeat.
Tactically, Ursa possesses sensory capabilities that render standard human concealment useless. Her Enhanced Vision allows her to perceive the entire electromagnetic spectrum, from the heat signatures of infrared to the microscopic details of the atomic level. Through X-Ray Vision, she can bypass physical obstructions—save for lead—to observe hidden targets or internal machinery. Her Super-Hearing is equally precise, capable of filtering out the cacophony of a city to track a single heartbeat or a whispered conversation from miles away. These senses, combined with the ability to manipulate graviton particles for Flight, make her an apex predator in any environment, capable of striking from any angle with surgical precision.
Offensively, Ursa utilizes her solar stores to project concentrated beams of Heat Vision, which she can modulate from a searing wide-angle blast to a pinpoint surgical strike. Her lung capacity allows for the exertion of Super-Breath, creating hurricane-force winds or chilling the air to absolute zero to flash-freeze enemies in their tracks. While she possesses the Longevity to outlast entire human generations, her powers remain contingent on Solar Energy Dependency. She remains vulnerable to the radioactive remnants of her home planet, Kryptonite, as well as the chaotic variables of Magic, which bypasses her bio-electric aura. Despite these few weaknesses, her military background and a surprising mastery of Architecture make her uniquely qualified to tear down human civilizations and rebuild them in the image of Krypton.

The Air Force jets screamed toward the coastline, their radar locks buzzing in the air like angry insects. Ursa didn't flinch. To her perception, the missiles launched from their wings were crawling through the sky, dragging plumes of white smoke at a snail's pace. She tilted her head, the silver star on her chest catching the glare. With a slight shift in her weight, she kicked off the air, the resulting sonic boom shattering the glass in the buildings for blocks. She reached out and caught the lead missile by its nose cone, her fingers denting the metal with casual ease.
"Your technology is as loud as your frantic breathing," she said. She didn't detonate the weapon; she simply redirected its trajectory back toward the hangar it had come from.
"Ursa. Wife of Zod. Mother of his son, Lor-Zod."
"The killing. That's my favorite part. Zod -- strong, sure, brilliant Zod -- doesn't understand that. He finds victory in planning, in preparation, in the discovery of every little detail. He calls that strategy. He calls that tactics. There's a better word for it. Anticipation. And that's why he is the general... and I am the weapon."
