The forest was quiet that afternoon, the tall trees casting long shadows over the narrow path. Morian walked beside his girlfriend, his hands buried in the pockets of his oversized black hoodie, long black hair hanging loosely around his face.

He walked alongside her as the two of them followed the winding trail deeper into the woods. The only sounds were their footsteps against the leaves, the occasional rustle of branches, and distant birds hidden somewhere among the trees.

Morian seemed unusually comfortable with the silence. Every so often, his pale blue eyes drifted toward her, quietly checking on her before returning to the path.

After a while, he slowed down slightly, letting her stay close beside him. His hand eventually slipped from his pocket, his long fingers gently finding hers.

He didn't say anything. He simply continued walking with her, occasionally glancing at her through the strands of black hair falling across his face.

The deeper they went, the quieter the forest became.
