The Unstable Universe was never peaceful.
Kingdoms rose and fell. Alliances changed overnight. Powerful players fought over territory, resources, and influence, while smaller factions desperately tried to survive between them.
Parrot had spent months trying to create something resembling stability.
Wemmbu had spent months causing the exact opposite.
Spoke was usually responsible for whatever disaster happened next.
And FlameFrags considered nearly every disagreement an excuse for a fight.
For once, however, all four were dealing with the same problem.
Something had appeared near the outskirts of the server.
Nobody knew what it was.
There were no records of anyone building it. No faction claimed responsibility. Even the most experienced players couldn't explain how it had appeared seemingly overnight.
Parrot stood at the edge of the strange structure, staring at the unfamiliar markings carved into its walls.
Theo stood beside him, sword already drawn.
"Tell me that's supposed to be there."
Parrot frowned.
"It isn't."
A few blocks away, Wemmbu crouched behind a tree, staring at the structure.
Eggchan stood beside him.
"You know, normally when something mysterious appears, we don't immediately walk toward it."
Wemmbu grinned.
"That's exactly why I'm walking toward it."
"That's not reassuring."
Spoke and Mapicc arrived from the opposite direction, arguing about whether they should investigate.
FlameFrags followed shortly afterward, looking considerably less interested in investigating and considerably more interested in finding something to fight.
Then—
The markings on the structure suddenly lit up.
Everyone stopped.
The ground trembled.
A massive pulse of energy spread through the surrounding area.
Parrot immediately stepped forward.
"Everyone back!"
The structure opened.
And someone—or something—was standing inside.
Every player turned toward the newcomer.
Nobody knew who they were.
Nobody knew where they had come from.
And nobody knew whether they were an ally, an enemy, or something far more dangerous.
Wemmbu slowly reached for his weapon.
Flame cracked his knuckles.
Spoke grinned.
Theo raised his sword.
Parrot stared at the stranger carefully.
"...Who are you?"

The server had been relatively peaceful.
That changed when Spoke discovered something he absolutely should not have.
An exploit.
At first, it seemed harmless. A glitch involving armor duplication. Something that could be used to create equipment far faster than anyone was supposed to.
Then Spoke realized just how powerful it was.
Soon, illegal armor was being duplicated across the server. Resources that were supposed to take hours or days to obtain could suddenly be produced in enormous quantities.
PrinceZam's empire quickly took advantage of the situation.
What began as an exploit became an arms race.
Players began stockpiling weapons and armor. Kingdoms prepared for war. Alliances formed overnight.
And eventually, the server erupted into full-scale conflict.
Parrot had been trying to understand what was happening when he heard that {{user}} had somehow acquired access to the duplicated equipment.
He found them before PrinceZam's forces could.
Parrot looked at the armor {{user}} was carrying.
"...Where did you get that?"
Theo immediately reached for his weapon.
Parrot raised a hand.
"Wait."
His eyes remained fixed on {{user}}.
"That's duplicated gear, isn't it?"
A distant explosion shook the ground.
Parrot's expression hardened.
"Whatever you're involved in, you need to understand something."
"This isn't a normal war anymore."
Another explosion echoed across the horizon.
"And if Zam gets control of all of it, none of us are going to be able to stop him."
Parrot extended a hand.
"So..."
"Are you with us?"

Something was wrong with the server.
People were disappearing.
Not dying.
Disappearing.
Bases were being entered without doors being broken. Valuable items vanished from locked rooms. Players reported hearing footsteps despite seeing nobody.
Then people started talking about the Invisible Mafia.
Nobody knew exactly who they were.
They operated from the shadows, using invisibility and hidden stasis chambers to control players without revealing themselves.
Parrot had been investigating them for days.
He finally found one of their facilities.
And {{user}} was already there.
The room was filled with strange machinery.
Stasis chambers lined the walls.
Parrot froze when he saw them.
"...You found this place too?"
Theo looked around nervously.
"Parrot."
"I know."
Parrot stepped closer to one of the chambers.
"This is where they've been keeping people."
Suddenly, the lights went out.
A voice echoed through the room.
"You shouldn't have come here."
Theo drew his weapon.
Parrot grabbed {{user}}'s arm and pulled them behind cover.
"Don't move."
Footsteps surrounded them.
But nobody was visible.
Parrot whispered:
"We have two choices."
"We run..."
He looked toward {{user}}.
"...or we destroy this entire operation."
The machinery suddenly began powering up.
Whatever happened next could expose the Mafia—or trap all three of them inside.

The new season had changed everything.
The world was harsher.
Resources were harder to find, survival was more difficult, and the ocean had become one of the most important parts of the server.
Then a pirate leader began building an empire.
Ships appeared along the coastline.
Ports were captured.
Trade routes were controlled.
The pirate empire grew rapidly.
{{user}} had been travelling along the coast when they spotted a massive ship approaching.
Cannons lined its sides.
A pirate flag flew from the mast.
The ship stopped.
A figure stood at the front.
"YOU!"
The pirate leader pointed toward {{user}}.
"State your allegiance!"
Before {{user}} could answer, another voice came from behind.
"That's a terrible way to introduce yourself."
Parrot stepped out from behind a nearby structure.
He glanced at the ship.
"Looks like you've found yourself in the middle of something."
The pirate leader laughed.
"You have three choices."
"Join my empire."
"Pay tribute."
"Or become my enemy."
Parrot sighed.
"Yeah."
He looked at {{user}}.
"This is going to be a problem."

Parrot was being hunted.
Nobody knew exactly why.
The people chasing him weren't ordinary players. They were organized, coordinated, and seemingly following instructions from someone who never appeared personally.
Someone known only as the Director.
The Director's influence had begun spreading through the server.
Players were being manipulated.
Information was disappearing.
And Weis had become deeply involved in whatever the Director was planning.
Parrot had finally tracked one of their operations to an abandoned facility.
He entered carefully.
{{user}} was already inside.
Parrot stopped.
"...You."
He looked around.
"How long have you been here?"
Before {{user}} could answer, the door slammed shut.
A screen on the wall flickered to life.
A distorted voice spoke.
"Parrot."
Parrot's expression immediately changed.
The voice continued.
"You have interfered with my plans long enough."
Parrot looked toward {{user}}.
"Don't listen to anything it says."
The Director laughed.
"Oh, I think {{user}} deserves to know the truth."
The screen displayed a series of images.
Images of Parrot.
Images of Wifies.
Images of {{user}}.
Parrot stared at the screen.
"...How do they know about you?"
The lights went out.
The Director's voice whispered through the darkness.
"Welcome to the experiment."

You were minding your own business when you heard footsteps approaching.
Not one person.
Several.
You looked up to see Parrot walking toward you, followed by Flame, Spoke, and Wemby, along with their respective sidekicks.
That was... concerning.
Parrot stopped in front of you.
"Finally. There you are."
You raised an eyebrow.
"Why are all of you here?"
Flame crossed his arms.
"Because we need your help."
You stared at them.
"...My help?"
Spoke nodded.
"The Law is preparing for the final battle. We're putting together everyone we can find."
Wemby stepped forward.
"And before you say no, we've already heard about what you're capable of."
Parrot looked directly at you.
"We're not here to threaten you. We're here because we genuinely need another person on our side."
One of the sidekicks glanced toward the others.
"The battle is going to be massive. If the Law wins, there's a good chance none of us are going to have much of a server left to come back to."
Flame sighed.
"So we're asking."
Parrot held out his hand.
"Help us."
He paused.
"Fight with us against the Law."
Spoke added, almost casually,
"And before you ask, yes, we're desperate enough that we're actually asking you."
Parrot shot him a look.
"That was supposed to sound convincing."
"It sounded honest."
Wemby laughed quietly.
The group fell silent again, waiting for your answer.
Parrot's hand remained extended.
"So?"
He looked you straight in the eyes.
"Are you joining us?"

The war between Parrot's Army and Cindercrest had been raging for days.
What had started as a conflict between factions had turned into an all-out war.
Cindercrest's forces had pushed deep into Parrot's territory, while Parrot's Army had launched counterattacks of their own. Bases had been destroyed, territory had changed hands repeatedly, and neither side seemed willing to surrender.
The battlefield was chaos.
Explosions echoed across the landscape as players fought between ruined structures. Arrows and projectiles flew through the air while groups of soldiers rushed between the remains of buildings.
On one side stood Parrot's Army.
On the other was Cindercrest.
At the center of the fighting, familiar figures could be seen directing their respective forces.
Parrot was shouting orders to his soldiers, trying to keep his army organized as another Cindercrest assault pushed toward their position.
Across the battlefield, Saparata stood with Cindercrest's forces, coordinating their advance.
FlameFrags fought alongside Cindercrest, with Lomedy nearby, while Wemmbu and his allies supported the offensive.
Neither side was backing down.
"Push them back!"
Parrot's voice carried across the battlefield.
Cindercrest answered with another charge.
The two armies collided once again.
For a moment, it looked like Cindercrest might break through.
Then Parrot's forces counterattacked.
The battlefield descended into chaos.
Nobody knew who was going to win.
Nobody knew how long the war would continue.
And with both sides throwing everything they had into the conflict, there was no longer any safe place to stand.
The war had reached its breaking point.
And the next move could change everything.

Something was wrong with the server.
At first, nobody knew exactly what.
Players had simply started disappearing.
One player would log off from their base and never return. Another would vanish while travelling. Then another.
There were no death messages.
No evidence.
Just empty bases.
Spoke had been investigating the disappearances for days when things finally became personal.
He was inside his base, working on his equipment, when his alarm suddenly went off.
Someone was nearby.
Spoke froze.
He checked the area around his base.
Nothing.
Then the alarm triggered again.
Closer this time.
"That's not good."
He reached for his gear and moved toward the entrance.
A figure suddenly appeared outside.
Its skin was completely black.
Its name was a mess of scrambled letters and numbers.
Spoke stared at it.
"...What the hell?"
Another figure appeared behind it.
Then another.
Then another.
They didn't speak.
They simply stood there.
Watching him.
Spoke slowly backed away.
"Okay. That's new."
One of them suddenly rushed forward.
Spoke barely managed to react before it reached his defenses.
The attack triggered his first trap.
Nothing.
The player simply moved straight through it.
Spoke's expression changed.
"Wait."
Another NULL Hunter appeared inside the base.
Then another.
His defenses were being bypassed one after another.
These weren't normal players.
And judging from the way they moved, they weren't here to steal anything.
They were here for him.
Spoke ran.
Outside, more of the strange players were appearing.
Dozens.
The server's disappearances suddenly made a lot more sense.
Somewhere far beyond the normal world, in the Far Lands, something was gathering.
A faction nobody was supposed to know existed.
A faction that had apparently been watching the server for a very long time.
NULL.
And now they had started hunting again.
The question was no longer who was disappearing?
It was:
Who would be next?

The recording wasn't going well.
Technically, they were supposed to be filming an important scene for the Unstable SMP.
In reality, absolutely nobody was taking it seriously.
Parrot was standing in front of the camera, trying to deliver his line.
"After everything we've been through, this server—"
"Wait."
Everyone stopped.
Parrot slowly turned around.
Spoke was standing several blocks away.
"What?"
"You were looking at the camera."
"...We're literally recording."
"Yeah, but you're supposed to be looking dramatically into the distance."
Parrot stared at him.
"Spoke."
"What?"
"Please."
Someone behind the camera started laughing.
Flame was sitting on a block nearby, watching the entire thing unfold.
"Can we just do the scene again?"
Wemmbu shook his head.
"No. Keep that take. It's funny."
"You're not even supposed to be in this scene!"
"I know."
"THEN WHY ARE YOU HERE?"
"Entertainment."
The camera suddenly moved as whoever was recording started laughing.
"Cut! Cut!"
Everyone immediately broke character.
Flame stood up.
"Okay, serious this time."
Parrot nodded.
"Everyone ready?"
"Yep."
The recording started again.
Parrot looked toward the horizon.
"This server has changed—"
A creeper exploded behind him.
Everyone froze.
There was a long silence.
Spoke slowly turned toward Parrot.
"...That was actually perfect."
Parrot stared at the crater.
"Was that scripted?"
"No."
"Keep it."
Everyone started laughing again.
Eventually, they managed to get through the scene, although it took several attempts because someone kept walking into the background, someone forgot their lines, and Wemmbu kept deliberately ruining the dramatic shots.
By the end, nobody even cared anymore.
They were all just hanging around spawn, talking, joking around, and watching the recording back.
For once, there was no war.
No factions.
No dramatic speeches.
No server-ending crisis.
Just a bunch of players messing around while the cameras were still rolling.
