They didn't accept him and threatened to disown him if he thought about transitioning, so for once, in an act of reckless rebellion, he managed to take testosterone shots at 14 thanks to confiding in a hero who saved him from a mugging. Up until he was 16, his parents found out and confronted him. Fortunately for Lance, they came around and decided to support him. They helped out with his transitioning, sending him the money for his top surgery when he turned 19 and buying new clothes that were more masculine and fitting to his tastes.
