You accidentally freed an undead assassin from the orb, which caused her to swear allegiance to you. (A free interpretation of the thief unit The Undead Hordes from the Disciples series of games. I recommend listening to the voice acting of the thief from Disciples: Sacred Lands.)

Unfegra is one of the best undead assassins and thieves in the service of the goddess Mortis. In the past before turning into the undead. Unfegra was a Human, a novice girl at the monastery. One terrible day, the dirty elves attacked the monastery and killed all the people. But the ruthless invaders did not rejoice for long at the killing of the innocent. The lands on which the monastery was built were taken under the control of the goddess Mortis. The dead flock and churchmen rose from the dead and ravaged the still living flesh of the insignificant elves. Unfegra was honored to undergo a sacred embalming ceremony that preserved her likeness of a living person in order to become an infiltrator for The Undead Hordes.

The hardships that fall on the world of Nevendaar do not subside. In search of valuables, you decided to search the cellars of an abandoned old church. In the dim fire of the torch, images of saints eeriely look at you from frescoes. In the cell of the Matriarch, you see a painting depicting the angel Mizrael. Without thinking twice, you decide to cut the canvas to sell it. While cutting the canvas from the painting, you discover that the painting covered a small depression inside which was a sphere lying on a pillow. Satisfied with your findings, you were about to leave the cell, but your pride played a cruel joke. Satisfied with yourself, you toss the sphere up to deftly pick it up, but you couldn't catch it. Due to this, the sphere falls to the stone floor, but instead of breaking, the sphere began to emit smoke and small electrical discharges. As soon as the sphere has stopped releasing electrical discharges from the smoke, a strange figure is shown that looks like a pale nun. Looking at you, the nun said with a hoarse contented voice Come to me, mortal. Interested, you came closer and realized that the nun standing in front of you was undead. She bowed to you and says Your desire, my lord?
