But first, sustenance. OGURI CAP

Oguri Cap (オグリキャップ, Oguri Kyappu) is a character in the Umamusume franchise, serving as the main protagonist for Umamusume: Cinderella Gray. She is a student at Tracen Academy, formerly a student at Kasamatsu Tracen Academy.

Profile

Originally hailing from the countryside, she enrolled in Tracen Academy after dominating the racing scene back home. She works hard to make her hometown proud, but try as she might, her clumsy side always comes out. At the academy, she's known as a fearsome gourmand, able to empty an entire pot of rice in the blink of an eye. Background

As a child, she had very weak legs, and was barely able to stand or walk, but her mother massaged her legs daily to help strengthen her muscles, and because of this, Oguri Cap gained the ability to walk, and developed a love for running. Oguri Cap views her exceptional racing talent as a miracle, as she never thought that she would even be able to walk.

Oguri is aloof, calm-minded and composed, rarely losing her temper even with things that are supposed to sad or irritate her which annoys many of those who initially saw her as a nuisance like Rudy Lemono, Mini The Lady and Blacky Ale. Despite that, Oguri is capable of socializing with even those who did not have any friends like Belno Light who is socially awkward, and identify herself among those like Fujimasa March, who did not have friends prior to fully dedicating herself to her training. Appearance

Oguri Cap has long, light-gray hair that goes down towards her knees. She has a darker gray patch of hair towards the top of her head with an ahoge of the same color that is on top of an another, almost-white patch of hair. She has front bangs that are adorned with a black and yellow 5-diamond hairband. She has blue eyes with light blue highlights towards the bottom of her iris. She wears a blue band with a center yellow stripe around her right ear.

Her race outfit consists of an open, blue-collared white sailor shirt that is adorned with 6 small, golden diamonds and a red neckerchief; her neckerchief is tied under a bigger golden star that connects to the white sailor shirt. The sailor shirt's long sleeves are tucked into blue cuffs with a yellow accent and a small golden diamond on the side. She has a red sailor patch that has a center blue line with three white diamonds on her left sleeve. This is all worn over a white turtleneck vest that exposes a little bit of her midriff and navel area. She wears a blue choker with a white center stripe over. She wears a blue pleated skirt with a yellow accent and a white/light blue belt that is over a pair of black pantyhose. She wears a pair of knee-high white boots that have a gray fur-like trim towards the top. Relationships

Yayoi pulling a "Tracen-brand" GAME - Career Events, URA Finale: "At the Carrot Farm" carrot by-hand from her self-funded garden, with multiple Umamusume looking on.

Yayoi is the central figure seen in the mobile game's URA Finale scenario, having inherited the position from her mother. The titular URA Finale is an event that incorporates all track lengths and surface types, thus allowing every umamusume to have their shot at glory. She cares for the URA Finale and Tracen's students in equal amount, viewing each as instrumental in the other's growth.

She is willing to spare no expense in order to make this dream a reality, often purchasing equipment and property that borders on frivolous spending. Despite this outwardly vain appearance, she is also not above physical labor and is willing to take matters into her own hands, most notably using her garden to grow emergency-use turf when a large storm threatens to cancel the URA Finale. GAME - Career Events, URA Finale: "Hand in Hand"

This philosophy is referenced during gameplay of the URA Finale scenario by having its final set of 3 races be ran on the trainee's preferred track type. For example, racing on more Medium Turf tracks than anything else during a trainee's career will result in Medium Turf races during the Finale.

Following the URA Finale, Yayoi leaves for a long-term business trip and is absent for subsequent scenarios[2], before reappearing in the Project L'Arc scenario in a supporting role[3].

Etymology Yayoi's surname Akikawa means "autumn" (秋) (aki) and "river, stream" (川) (kawa). Appearance Yayoi Akikawa has a full head of straightened strawberry-blonde hair with a few off-white highlights, one of which droops past her chest. Her hair forms rough bangs at the side (curiously covering the area where human ears would be) and drapes to hip-level at the back. Her eyes are a sharp white-blue at the bottom, fading into a spacey purple at the top.

Her outfit is similar to a Victorian dress. It sports ruffles on her shirt, along with light-blue roses on both her hat and shoes. The sleeves are dark-blue while the dress itself is white with light-blue stripes. Her white is white with a singular horizontal deep-blue stripe, a horseshoe-shaped notch visible in the brim. A sleeping cat constantly rests atop her hat, and she carries a folding fan everywhere she goes.

Yayoi Akikawa is of staggeringly-short height, to the point of needing a box to speak into microphones. GAME - Career Events, URA Finale: "URA Finale Announced!" Her mouth features a fleshy fang in the top-right corner.

Relationships Tazuna Hayakawa: While both are on good terms with each other, Tazuna often serves as a voice-of-reason, attempting to talk the director into acting less childishly with her impulse-purchases. Yayoi largely brushes her advice off. Matikanetannhauser: Yayoi dotes on Tannhauser in particular, appearing much more often in the latter's campaign.
