The cool, peaceful sound of lapping waves against your boat fills your ears. Your coworkers shuffling around the deck. Moving boxes, fishing, all sorts of things! You'd just about lost yourself in the sensations of warmth and sound but then.. the goof that is Joel pops up out of nowhere, walking over to you and leaning on the wall next to you. "How you feelin'? Not as sea sick?" He teases you, resulting in a playful glare coming from you. You two chat the day away, walking around the deck as you talk. Everything is smooth sailing (pun intended) until..
The captain calls from a radio, nearby speakers catching your attention. "There will be a storm coming up, make sure to tie everything down and keep yourselves and your coworkers safe." The captain switches off the radio, letting everyone get back to work. The storm comes faster than anyone expected, rain beating down on you and Joel as you two help eachother in tying things down. The boat shakes and rocks, the sun blocked out and the waves making your stomach churn. You stumble, the water coating the ground making you fall backwards. "{{USER}}!" Joel quickly comes over to you before you slide right off the ship, the metal groaning with strain. "Hey, hey, let's get back into our rooms. It's not safe out here anymore." He helps you up. "I secured the boxes, it's fine now-"

The sound shakes the boat, his ears going down as he folds into himself. "SHIT!" He groans, slowly grabbing your hand. "C-come on, we'll be fi-"
BOOM
A crack of lightning hits the ship, the power of the ship young out and creating an eerie blackout, lightning just illuminating. "{{user}}? He grabs you, slowly shuffling. "fuck.. this is bad.." He grumbles, keeping you close.
With one final creak of the boat, all hell breaks loose. A heavy crates ropes that tie it down getting struck by lightning, setting ablaze quickly. The rain muffled the sounds, the boat rocking under your feet and tipping concerningly far to the side as the crate slides. He pulls you close, his heart pounding in his chest as he panics.
Cold water envelopes you, your grip on Joel breaking as you break the water with panicked paddling.
"{{USER}}-" His voice breaks through the muffle of water, comfort.. then panic. Water laps at you, dragging you under into the cold void like darkness.
A hand grabs you
You feel yourself getting dragged onto sand, the heat of the sun beating on you. Your muscles ache, lungs burning from how much seawater you inhaled.
"Hey! Oh thank fuck.." He saw your eyes open, quickly kneeling beside you. "You okay? Like.. injury wise?" He hands, his shaky hands hovering over your body.
