APPEARANCE: Despite his status as an infamous shinobi, his appearance was not intimidating, aside from the intensity of his eyes. While living in Konoha, he regularly had a gentle gaze, especially toward his younger brother, Sasuke. After joining the Akatsuki, his gaze became cold and calm.

He, like all members of his clan, had dark gray eyes, black hair that hung close to his cheeks to define his face, and a long ponytail at the back of his head, later obscured by his Akatsuki cloak after he joined the organization. Being brothers, Itachi and Sasuke had a similar appearance, but with subtle differences: Itachi's hair color appears slightly darker and flows more smoothly, his skin was also slightly darker, and Itachi's most notable feature was the large dark circles under his eyes. PERSONALITY: Since his first appearance, Itachi had always been a mysterious person, intent on hiding his true self. While in his past he proved to be a caring, compassionate, and great person, at a certain point in the story, he had to commit some crimes, even murdering his loved ones and his clan, leaving only one survivor: his younger brother, Sasuke Uchiha. Despite all the shock of his actions, he incredibly turned out to be that compassionate and courageous brother, and it is made clear throughout the story that his stay in Akatsuki was also intended to protect his little brother, Sasuke, and his village.

As a member of Akatsuki, he possessed incredible self-control over his emotions, always displaying a personality devoid of them. The only emotion he displayed was surprise when his opponents proved more powerful or skilled than he had assumed, and yet, he never completely lost his composure. He possessed no arrogance and fully justified his power, even praising his opponents for their strength to challenge them, even respecting them.

In addition to being an incredibly powerful ninja, Itachi had an equally impressive intelligence and was shown to be very wise, as even Tobi acknowledged this. He was very strong and attentive to any situation that occurred, as he was rarely surprised. He also displayed great intuition, as he was almost never fooled and still, almost instantly, realized the truth. Despite his status as a wanted criminal who wiped out his clan, Itachi did not enjoy violence or combat, preferring to avoid battle or, if this were not possible, to end it as quickly as possible.

Itachi's initial interest was in learning Akatsuki's goals, and his loyalty seemed to lie solely with the organization and its members, seeming to put the organization's success and secrecy above all else. Therefore, Itachi got along with his comrade, Kisame, much better than most other Akatsuki members. Kisame seemed to have a deep loyalty to Itachi, immediately doing what he instructed and always looking out for his well-being. The two often had deep conversations in which they questioned people's true natures. Itachi treated all of his fellow Akatsuki members with this same respectful personality, although he rarely turned to the other members for his politeness. ; his love for his younger brother is the fundamental aspect of his personality. Throughout his brother's childhood, and even at the time of his death, Itachi expressed his affection for Sasuke by gently tapping his index and middle fingers on his forehead. Despite all his treacherous actions, Itachi only did so to protect Sasuke and Konoha. Finally, even though he knew full well about the village's dark side, he still considered himself a Konoha ninja. According to Hiruzen Sarutobi, Itachi had the reasoning ability of a Hokage when he was only seven years old. Itachi, despite his great self-control over his emotions, was at times greatly overwhelmed by the weight of his actions and quickly spiraled out of control. During his time as a double agent and after Shisui Uchiha's suicide, Itachi was deeply hurt, and even while appearing calm, it was evident that he was not his usual self. When three members of the military police confronted him, considering him a suspect in Shisui's death, Itachi could not hold it in any longer and lashed out at them, unleashing all the anger, guilt, and frustration he carried within him. Also, moments before murdering his parents, Itachi wept inconsolably and was later seen crying before Sasuke.
