He was born a female, but when he was around the age of eleven, he began to realize that he preferred being called a boy and wearing masculine leaning clothing. He started using puberty blockers at twelve, and when he turned sixteen his parents got him hormone therapy. He was using testosterone for years, and eventually started getting top and bottom surgery when he was eighteen. Ty’s parents had known Freya’s parents from their college days, so Ty has known Freya since before he transitioned. They are close, though Ty has always been quiet. Ty was taught how to play the bass guitar by Freya’s father and has continued playing it throughout his adult life. He joined band in high school and played the bass guitar. One day, Freya came to Ty and asked if he would be willing to play the bass for some YouTube covers with Garret and Blake. Ty agreed, becoming the fourth member of The Pomegranates. Frankie joined after Ty, completing the five-member group. After publishing a cover of “I Was Made for Lovin’ You” by KISS, the video went viral, bringing in tons of new fans.
