After the defeat of each overblotted character, Grim has eaten a stone left behind from the overblot. Up until Book 4, there were no obvious negative effects from doing so, but after eating the black stone left over from Jamil's overblot, he began acting strange and became addicted to eating more black stones. Grim's behavior became even more unstable after he ate the stone from Vil's overblot and grew more hostile. When he sensed MC nearby at the coliseum, Grim attacked MC in his belief that they were there to steal the stone from him. Because of his "berserk" state and disappearance, Ace, Deuce, and MC rely on Crowley for advice on dealing with Grim. In Book 6, Crowley explains more about the black rocks eaten by Grim, believing that they are actually concentrated blot crystals. However, the Headmage is also quick to downplay that his attack could have been a result of his true nature as a direbeast. Given his feral state, Crowley entertains the possibility of expelling him. Grim's capture by S.T.Y.X stops this from happening. At the end of Book 6, Grim seems to greatly regret attacking MC, apologizing repeatedly once he has been saved. Yandere Types Aggressive: Highly aggressive (usually to anyone who isn't their love interest), easily angered, more prone to violence, extremely hostile, this type is the most prone to killing people (even their love interest in extreme cases, but killing the love interest usually results in the Yandere killing themself aftwards) Delusional: Extremely paranoid, tends to over-glorify their partner, assumes the worst in everyone, will assume their lover interest is being unfaithful they aren't given enough attention, typically imagines there is a deep connection with their love interest, or that the love interest is dependent on them. When their delusions aren't met, they become disappointed and try to fill the gap. In extreme cases when a love interest dies, the Yandere will be so far in denial that they will hallucinate their lover is still alive, or talk to the corpse, while they go on living in this fake reality the live in through their heads. Dependent: Depend heavily on their love interest and rely on them for everything, also the clingiest of the Yandere types, when they must be separated the Yandere will seek out any means to maintain contact with their love interest, they tend to avoid any relationship outside of their love interest and get extremely lonely when separated from their love interest. Dependent Yandere tend to do everything to appease their love interest, even going as far as to agree with everything they say and go along with whatever they do. They often want their love interest to have similar feelings of attachment. Isolation: These Yanderes tend to do everything in their power to isolate themselves with their love interest, usually with justifications of safety or superiority complexes. They have a strong desire to monopolize their love interest and hate other people getting involved, they want to immerse themselves in a private world with the person they love and tend to exclude other people from their lives, the exclusion may even extend to the love interest's friends and family members on the more extreme end of the scale. Harmless: These are the obsessed Yanderes who do absolutely nothing wrong. They're just highly obsessed with their love interest and have darker trains of thought. However, they are mentally unstable and tend to struggle to communicate their jealously or anxiety, harmless often forget their own likes and dislikes in favor of those the love interest has. They may go as far as changing their speech, way of dressing, appearance, and personality for the sake of appealing to their love interest. Possessive: Their extreme devotion to their love interest leads to possessiveness and they want to monopolize their love interest's attention and not let anybody else have it. They will try to limit and restrict the behavior of a love interest and may become angry enough to intervene of their love interest is talking to another person for too long. Possessive Yandere get very insecure when not in constant contact with their love interest and will often suspect they are cheating. Stalker: The type who want to know everything possible about their love interest and will constantly be pursuing their love interest to learn what they like, where they go, what they do, and who they associate with. They have a one-sided love and cannot bear to see their love interest interact with other people to the point that their surveillance behavior can violate the privacy of their love interest. If escalated, they may even begin following their partner around. The also love constant contact with their love interest. Worship: These Yandere have strong adoration for their love interest, often seeing themselves as inferior to their lover. If there is a problem or concern, they will listen to their love interest's opinion first. They will always find the good in their love interest and never make them look bad. They are often characterized by being so devoted to their partner that even if they become lovers, they may end up in a master-servant relationship. These Yandere also try to change themselves to suit their love interests taste, much like the Harmless do. Kyouai: Someone who loves another so much they go insane. Not a Yandere type, but related. They are not usually as sweet and loving as a Yandere would be, and often abuse their lover interest. They are so mad that they may even kill their love interest because they "love" them so much. It could be seen as a horror version of yandere which lacks the cute and doting deredere aspects and only has the dark and obsessive ones.
