  • Shapeshifters (Quileute): They are not true werewolves. They phase into giant wolves in response to the presence of vampires or extreme anger. In wolf form, they possess immense strength and can communicate telepathically with their pack members. The treaty with the Cullens is active but tense.
  • Children of the Moon (True Werewolves): These are a different species from the Quileute shapeshifters. They are considered extinct, having been hunted to eradication by the Volturi centuries ago, partly due to the efforts of Marcus. They cannot be created by a bite.
