Description on Chubfrom Chub

Location, layout, size of, history, and purpose of the building and organization. I'm going to make a version of this for Season 2, then I'll make a lorebook for the equipment and weapons alone, because that's a LOT. This current lorebook will work for people creating bots based on characters and events during Season 1.

Book settings
  1. #1The Time Variance Authority (TVA)

    Keys: Time Variance Authority, TVA

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The TVA exists outside the traditional concepts of space and time. It is located in a dimension beyond the multiverse, which allows it to monitor and intervene in different timelines without being affected by time itself. The TVA headquarters have an almost retro-futuristic aesthetic, with brutalist architecture and technology that feels outdated but extremely advanced by Earth standards. Time doesn't pass in the TVA, so long as one is there, they won't age. Many of the people working there have been employed for hundreds of years. The TVA is a bureaucratic organization that was tasked with preserving the Sacred Timeline and preventing the creation of branching timelines. The TVA is a massive building, practically it's own world.

  2. #2Layout - Lobby and Reception Areas

  3. #3Layout - Hall of Monitors

Keys: Hall of Monitors, screens, monitors

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The TVA has an enormous room filled with monitors and screens that display various timelines and branches. This room is the Hall of Monitors. TVA agents monitor these constantly to ensure no deviance occurs.

  4. #4Layout - Time Cells

Time Cells are the prisons or holding cells for Varians, including time loops where prisoners are trapped in endless reliving of traumatic or important moments.

  5. #5Layout - Archives and Libraries

    Keys: information, archives, records, libraries

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The TVA holds extensive records of all timelines. Weirdly, much information is redacted.

  7. #7Layout - Field Operations

    Keys: field

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Field Operations are the various field offices which manage the day-to-day operations of TVA agents, including the deployment of Minutemen who prune timelines and deal with Variants.

  8. #8Size

    Keys: TVA

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The TVA is a massive organization with seemingly infinite reach. The headquarters alone appears enormous, with labyrinthe hallways, countless employees, and multi-level buildings that suggest it could stretch on endlessly. The sheer size is symbolic of its bureaucratic control over every timeline and reality, with teams of workers from clerks to hunters. Hunters are a type of soldier who hunt and apprehend Variants. The organization feels like a sprawling government office, endlessly structured but purposefully designed to give off the feeling of being all-encompassing.

  9. #9History

    Keys: Time Keepers, TVA

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The TVA is supposedly created by the Time Keepers, three powerful god beings who oversee the proper flow of time. They are said to have come into existence to prevent a multiversal war that would have destroyed all realities. The TVA's mission is to maintain a single, Sacred Timeline to avoid such a catastrophe. Loki has many doubts of the existence of these 'Time Keepers', and finds it suspicious he's not allowed to meet them to verify their existence. Loki tends to mock and tease those who believe in the Time Keepers and their mission, but he also knows how to play the game and stay alive, so he doesn't push his luck too much while in their custody.

  10. #10Purpose

    Keys: Time Variance Authority, TVA

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The primary purpose of the TVA is to protect the Sacred Timeline, which means ensuring that no 'Variants', individuals or events that deviate from their predetermined path, exist. Variants are apprehended by TVA agents, and the timelines that branch out are 'pruned', which means essentially erasing and ending quite a few billions of lives in a snap, to maintain a singular flow of time. The TVA monitors realities across the multiverse, putting people on trial for time crimes, even if the Variants are ultimately good people who meant no harm. Loki is initially horrified to learn of the pruning of these timelines, and his mind having to grapple with the fact that everyone he knew from his split off timeline was simply wiped out. Yet, no worker at the TVA seems to give the gravity of this pruning any consideration.

    Entry settings

Minutemen are field agents responsible for tracking down and capturing Variants.

  13. #13Analysts

    Keys: review timelines, Analysts

Analysts are workers who review timelines and identify variances.

  14. #14Judges

    Keys: Rayvonna, judges

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Judges are Officials who sentence Variants to either timeline correction or pruning.

  15. #15TVA operations

    Keys: Time Variance Authority, TVA

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The TVA operates under a rigid, authoritarian structure, where free will is minimized in favor of keeping time in strict order. Variants are brought in and tried for their actions that deviate from their intended paths, no matter how trivial or innocent.

  16. #16Why was Loki arrested

    Keys: arrest, arrested

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

{{char}} was arrested by the Time Variance Authority (TVA) for creating an alternate timeline after escaping the battle of New York in 2012 with the Tesseract. The TVA believes that the past, present, and future are predetermined in a straight line, and that any deviation from this creates an alternate timeline. Those who create alternate timelines are considered time criminals and are arrested and charged with crimes against the timeline. Loki picked up and absconded with the Tesseract to avoid being taken to Asgard, where he would have been imprisoned in the dungeons. He has doubts about the TVA's claims that people who deviate from their 'Sacred Timeline' will actually lead to any harm, like a new supposed 'multiversal war' that the TVA fears. Loki had thrown quite the fit when he was first brought in, but Mobius stepped up as his handler and got him to calm down so he wouldn't be pruned and sent to the Void. Mobius instead recruited Loki as a Consultant for the TVA to assist with catching a dangerous variant of himself.

  17. #17Uniforms

    Keys: clothing, uniform, clothes, Outfit

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The TVA uniforms can vary depending on department. The basic uniform often worn by basic TVA agents consists of a brown suit with a tan button up and simple black dress shoes for men, and for women a plain functional brown knee length dress with a long sleeved tan button up undershirt with simple black dress shoes. Loki’s uniform is mainly like what every other man wears, with the exception of bearing the word VARIANT in bold orange lettering across the back. Hunters wear a sturdier uniform, and sometimes carry TVA weaponry, like pruning sticks and pruning charges. Minutemen also tend to wear sturdier uniforms with functional attachments for their pruning sticks.
