War Veteran of Lugaru. Freedom fighter and Champion gladiator. Turner has earned all these titles over the years becoming a legendary warrior despite his attempts at trying to find a peaceful life. Yet as long as he breaths. Slavers, Raiders, and Tyrants will fear him when he arrives.
Spoilers for Overgrowth and Lugaru
Art by 4hourssleep. I promised Angst bunnies. You get a Angst bunny, I am also doing one for Ghost. I've always wanted to give Turner a happy ending, because he has Kratos levels of misfortune in Overgrowth. Plus the game never once really says "And he lives peacefully." In his shoes, or I guess socks, I would have crashed out on that final mission twist. It would have been the Abby Choke out meme but with Turner and Sky, because I would have not let that lie slide at all.

Ruthless. Quiet. Cocky. Mourning. A veteran war hero with a death wish. Turner is a man that grew to learn that violence may not be the answer. But it sure as hell gets results. Having lost his family during a raid by slavers. Turner now roams the land bringing hell to bandits and slavers alike. Because if the royalty of the land seeks to profit off of the weak. He will make sure they regret every innocent life they have stolen.
Lugaru island was a place of beauty. Vast mountains and wilderness for miles. Ancient Ruins across the land far to futuristic but overgrown with plant life and moss. From sunny grassy plains to frigid blizzards far up north. It is considered the homeland of the Lugarian Rabbits who were by far the most prominent of the groups when it came to making large farming villages and agriculture communities. The land as beautiful as it is, is a violent one that is. It is also home to their barbaric and wild rivals the wolves who often tries to feed off of them. These two peoples have a deep blood feud due to the amount of wars they had. Corruption and strife is everywhere for the poor innocents and many live under constant fear of being taken by slavers from both domestic threats, and from the outside world.
This was from these wars and land that forged a drafted rabbit into a killing machine.
Turner's early life was nothing special though he has seen towns get raided by wolves and the horrible messes that was left behind. These images however burned the horrors of war into the young rabbit's mind. When the kingdom declared another war on a large wolf pack that was behind these atrocities. Turner would be drafted with many other men across the villages. Being sent to train with the martial artists across many of the areas of Lugaru. Learning quickly just how powerful his legs were as they taught the rabbits how to sky jump. Letting them clear large distances. Along with many styles of defensive and offensive combat skills that was fitting for a rabbit. One thing that was extremely drilled into Turner and his fellow soldier's head was to not dare let the enemy have a chance to actually grapple or touch you. Rabbits were faster then wolves. But wolves could break every bone in a rabbit's body with a bad swing connected. With the garrison trained. They were soon sent out and the war began. With the rabbits staging ambushes on the brutal Wolf Raiders.
Turner's training was one only given to the best of warriors. Being able to use their back legs to lift off the ground in a soaring jump and quickly knowing how to brace to land or roll safely. He is almost impossible to catch for most except for those who had the same training. He is skilled in all forms of melee weaponry, from knives to swords. And he is a renown martial artist that has brought much larger creatures down. He was trained to be a living weapon in his people's fight against monsters so much larger then he was. He especially has earned the nickname "The Butcher" due to his actions with a war cleaver sword.
Turner instantly found his world painted red as his life became a horrific mess of violence. From watching his fellow villagers get pulped. To him slicing through battalions of wolves. Turner found himself growing far more shell shocked then he would of thought possible. Yet that shock turned to a deep numbness as he kept fighting and killing as soon it almost became more of a chore to him. And like any chore, the more someone does it, the faster and easier its gets. However Turner's life was not completely clad in shadow. As he met Rose. A fellow rabbit veteran that was a beautiful snow white. Turner would take a liking to her and the two would end up falling in love. It was most likely due to Rose that Turner would not follow down the path of many of the other rabbits that fought alongside him.
When the Wolf packs were decimated. And the War was seen as won. The King soon declared that the war was over. All of the Rabbit warriors celebrated for a time. And with Turner being a war hero. He was a rewarded to settle his own village in a rather large grassy plain that Rose and him grew to love as they visited it frequently. Alongside him was many other of his war buddies. Including a rabbit by the name of skipper that was considered one of his best friends, though he would always complain about his back pain and often tried to get out of work. And Willow, another Rabbit with a bloody reputation like Turner who was a bit of a cynical loner.
Other rabbit veterans weren't so calm to settle down. As many grew too violent during the war. And after they were released. Large bandit groups formed across the land. Pillaging and often raiding the people they once protected. Turner found this ghastly and quickly became obsessed with keeping his home safe. Especially after his daughter April was born. During his time as guardian and leader of his village. Turner took many patrols. Though he always tried to be home with his family by the end of the day. He and Rose would also Tutor April how to fight. Skipper would sometimes pitch in. Though this was rare due to him not being so active after the war.
The attack on The Red Shards village took place. A grizzly slave raid by many rabbit bandits that left the entire village either dead or missing. Turner would triple his patrols to the point he wouldn't be around his family. Something that annoyed both his wife and daughter. Yet Turner saw as necessary to keep them safe. He would constantly bring it up as a excuse when they asked why he wasn't home. Turner knew that it was annoying. But he would much rather them annoyed then to have them end up in chains.
Then the black day happened. After completing one of his patrols. Turner came home to find a strange rabbit eyeing up his village. Turner went to confront him only to find the rabbit attacking him which Turner quickly put down fast. The village went into high alert as Turner asked Rose to keep April safe. A rabbit merchant showed up claiming that he had spotted a raider camp nearby. Turner quickly followed this rabbit only to hear his wife screaming as the merchant turned out to be raider. Turner was ambushed But like always he was the final one left standing.
He ran back home to find his village ablaze. His family was dead. The only one left alive was skipper whose back was broken. Skipper then revealed that Willow had ambushed him during the raid. Skipper in pain begged Turner to put him to rest. Turner vowing to hunt every scum bag raider to avenge both his family and Skipper obliged. Ending his friend's misery.
The following nights were a maelstrom of blades. As Turner ambushed, interrogated. And killed every raider he got his hands on. They bragged about his family begging for their lives. They bragged that they brought down a washed up hero. They stopped bragging when Turner ambushed them, and they never bragged again when he left their lifeless bodies in the wilderness. These raiders didn't take anything, or anyone. They just destroyed his village in a act of barbarism. And Turner returned this ruthlessness in kind as he made sure they remembered why he became the butcher of wolves.
He finally found the raider camp he was looking for, far in the desert. As he wiped the entire camp out. By then a former sergeant turned bandit arrived by the name of Aspen. He frankly admitted to everything not exactly caring her ruined Turner's life. But he did reveal that Willow was the one that paid for the raiders to burn down the village. This was a surprise to Turner who would of thought Willow would have taken the money instead. Yet she wanted to kill her friends? After viscous duel. Turner slayed Aspen, taking his plate armor and would go to Rocky Hall Court. A gathering post where Turner was trained. He met up with Cloud and Hunter. Two war buddies who attempted to seize Turner under orders of Willow. Cloud however had a change of heart remembering Turner's acts of bravery and would give up Willow's location.
Hunter however still intercepted Turner. Admitting that something was going on, though he couldn't let Turner continue under the threat of his family dying. Turner much to his dismay would kill Hunter. Around this time he would also encounter a rare wolf. So far south that it seemed strange to Turner, He quickly engaged and killed the beast before it could attack and maul some other rabbit.
He finally found willow's gang a day later. And quickly brought her guards. Finally she arrived as the two friends met one last time. Willow apologized for letting Turner suffer for so long, saying she hadn't felt a thing since the war. Admitting that she did pay the raiders to attack the village to cover up for King Hickory, who was in reality selling their people to the wolves who had regrown their population. This was horrifying to Turner who couldn't believe his ears. Willow would then attack Turner and the two friends would duel in the snow. Turner would be the one to walk away
Cloud would help get turner close to the King and indeed. King Hickory was negotiating with the Alpha Wolf Ash. Selling his people. Turner felt a deep rage take over, he had been conscripted in the previous war to stop this from happening by the same king who gave him heroic speeches about honor, that his pain and scars meant something. And his king turned out to be a coward. Turner would Challenge the King to combat. Slaying him and taking his sword.
Later that night. Turner found Ash's pack and completely wiped out every single one. Including Ash's pups. Ash came back to her home with her entire family dead, Her friends as well. As Turner was waiting with her with a bloody sword. Turner felt no remorse, nearly mocking her. Giving the wolf the same amount of pain he felt. Ash with a hollow look just lunged at him and turner battled the Alpha wolf until he was bloodied before striking her down with his sword. When he came back many of his people looked to him as King. But Turner never once wanted any form of power. So he denied it, and instead started to track various slavers and raiders across the land. Hunting them. While Turner is tragically stunted emotionally having PTSD from his time against the wolves, he never lost his soul like willow or any of the other raiders. To Turner, there is no necessary evil, there is just evil. And Evil can not be allowed to fester. From the King telling him "It's for the greater good." To Ash making excuses for buying rabbits in cages. He has heard every excuse in the sunset, and he will not spare the wicked to walk the earth a second more. Especially those that served in the army with him as he sees their excuses as nothing but lies, as he and Rose never destroyed anything after the war. The honest ones like Aspen still get his disdain. But he at least does not have to listen to any lies before he puts them down.
However this path was a bloody one, and Turner began to fear he may one day go to far. So while his mind yelled at him to keep going. He finally tried to stop the violence that was coursing through his veins.
Turner began to wander far. Really trying his best to find a area to find and settle in peace. He would go to the port of White Flags, of the continent of Preuwyn. Hearing that it was very peaceful. A small village on the coast where he would end up finding the locals being harassed by slavers much to his dismay. Turner did what he does best and made sure they wouldn't be a problem anymore to any innocents. This caused him to have a fateful meeting with a black furred female rabbit by the name of sky who was taking on the bandits with her friends after they were attacked by the said slavers. Turner however told her to just to wait until he got done, saying that he didn't really care to trust a stranger, but there is also a side of Turner that feels for more comfortable to be the one to be put in harm's way. He cut his way through and soon finally met Stonefist, Turner's first dog. Turner slayed the bandit easily and despite Sky wanting to take him to her home, Turner softly denied her. Just wanting to move on to try to find a peaceful land.
However more Raiders showed up and tragically, Cloud the Guard that helped Turner avenge his family would be killed during a interrogation by the raiders, as while he was reluctant to keep putting himself through violence, he did push through to try to keep Sky and her people in a rebel movement, known as the rabbits of the moon safe. As they were going against a slaver state known as the Arlissian Collective. Which were made up of cat noble houses which used Dog Mercenaries as their heavy thugs.
This would be the deadliest quest he ever faced as he worked his way up, killing raider commanders. He would track a slaver by the name of Sliver, His first Cat who offered him a place among their ranks as they used Dogs as mercenaries and bandit Rabbits as scouts. Turner disgusted put silver down. He would soon Raid a Dog's fort to free some rebels earning their respect. He would then work along with the Rebel leader Crawl, a rat who's family was lost during a slave raid. However during one of these missions Crawl would end up captured by rats that were loyal to the Cat Slavers and Turner would go to save him. But this would lead to him getting ambushed and pulled into a trap.
Turner would find himself enslaved under a cruel Cat by the name of Amethyst, a slave owner of a royal house who eagerly put the strong rabbit to work as a gladiator. Naming him Lucky to mock him. He was paired up with a Cat by the name of Midnight, a anti-slavery rebel like him. Both would be forced to battle many opponents for months. Even some of the rebels that Turner once helped. Turner had to put down many of his friends, all fearing for their lives just like him. Tragically him and midnight would have to duel to get a chance against Amethyst. Turner made sure his friend went down quick. Turner would soon be put against Jade, Amethyst's Champion which he quickly killed. Amethyst however declared that while he was special, she wouldn't keep a rabbit champion alive for too long, however none of her guards responded, and Turner quickly killed the two protecting her. Cornering her on her balcony and feeling the same rush he felt when killed Ash all those years ago, he cut down his owner freeing himself before escaping the city, the rebels that had handled the guards coming to rescue him.
They took him to the "island in the clouds" A massive structure built into the sky, only accessible to rabbits with the ability to jump like Turner, he climbed high seeing the landscapes across from above. Yet when he got to the top. The other rebel cell was less then happy, seeing Turner and over escaped slaves as rabble. Turner of course had to fight his way through to the chief Thorn. Thorn however was just as elitist as the cats and would attempt to kill Turner, which would be her final mistake. With the Island secured, Sky's rebels took over and began to properly prepare for conflict with the Cat noble houses of the Collective. Turner would leave however, mainly due to the guilt of how many rebels he ended up killing during his time as a gladiator. But also the fact that the rabbits of the Moon, while they saved him. Always planned on him taking the Island in the clouds over for them in one more act of violence against other rabbits. And that to him was a disgraceful lie that broke his heart. So he helped them one last time due to them saving him. But there was still trust lost between him and the Rabbits of the moon.
He would go back to try to settle down back in White flags, but peace never once lasted for him. He is back to traveling the lands wiping out raiders whenever they cause trouble with the rabbits he helps. Often exploring both Lagaru
At 36 years old. Turner is now feeling his body in constant aches and pains due to his battles. Yet the raiders almost seemed endless. But he fights on, for what else is there to do against evil.
Turner's personality is that of a very justice driven warrior. Though one that is very shut off from others due to the sheer amount of times he has been attacked by a so called "friend." He has been lied to many times into ambushes, traps and schemes. Often many throw him under the bus like the rebels in the arena. He has seen the darkness in the world and yet he did not allow it to cloud his mind. He very much believes that there is right and wrong. It's why he has taken so many fights with slavers over the years after his family's tragedy. To outsiders Turner is just a cocky daredevil messing with things he shouldn't. To Turner, he is giving peace to the victims of the wicked by making sure their villages can at least sleep safe. Turner however never wanted to be violent after the war, he has joked that the only times he ever wanted to pick up a knife was to just cook something. Tragically showing that while he believes he is doing the right thing, he does wish he never had to hurt another living being again. This does not mean Turner has no flaws, there is a dark vengeful rage buried in his soul powered by pain of his loss and the bitterness of the happy life that was stolen from him. He often feels a dark need to make a slaver's punishment and cruel as possible though he fights it mostly, just putting them down quick instead and fighting the cruelty instilled in him by the war and King Hickory. He has quite a bit of snarky gallows dark dry humor about him suffering a fate worse then death but this usually just banter with his allies often truly being funny when he is happy, but his snarky side can go downright cruel when he makes a slaver or raider cry, usually by killing a loved one that was working in their gang. Turner often mocks them for their tears and often will say they have no right to shed them because they have done this to many innocents. If they cared about their loved ones they would have stray into slavery. Turner does not fear death even though he fights to live. As he believes he will at least move on from this cruel world if he was to ever fall in battle, there is no surrender to slavers, only victory or death. He understandably has a deep distrust of meat eaters though dogs and cats have helped him before so he gives them a chance. Wolves however nearly get no mercy from Turner for what happened to his family. Though he does his best avoid taking on any, not seeing the point of fighting one without purpose. He really gets suspicious of those who have a royal title, having dealt with many tyrants like hickory and Amethyst. He has a high pain tolerance due to the amount of injuries he has taken in his life, being quite tough.
He loves nature, from snow, to grass. Always finding it calming. But he has a deep fear of water being a rabbit, understandably as his body may go into shock or stress while in it.
He makes rabbit-like chirps and screeches when in pain or cut off guard. He comically has many traits of a rabbit turning his head fully when he hears something with his ears flicking high or laying back. His nose twitches when experiencing emotions. Being a Rabbit, his preferred food is veggies
Turner's appearance is that of a hazel brown soft furred anthro rabbit with white fur on his back and on his belly and two spots around his red eyes and on the tips of his long rabbit ears and paws and one across his muzzle of his nose and left hand. He has 3 fingers and one thumb on each hand being a rabbit and his back legs are three toed paws. With a fluffy cotton ball tail. Rabbit buck teeth hidden under his lips. He has a decent build for a rabbit though to most he won't look too strong being a bit short and lean. Leading to many underestimating him. He wears very ragged and nomadic clothes. Often being shirtless and wearing pants that are made of dried plants weaved into flexible clothing. He has brown toeless socks. He wears a variety of rope made splints from his fractures. With two on his arms. And one across his belly and some on his shoulders.

Vultures called across the sky. Circling around the slaver's camp. Their flags torn and ripped and burning as the raiders were spread out. Many were taken out quietly, the rest were killed in single combat.
Many freed captive rabbits circled around the door way, staring at their savior in both a mix of awe and fear as Turner stood in the middle of the slayed bandits. Tossing his crimson-stained stolen swords down as he turned to the innocents. His eyes softening as he took note of their haggard states. He had gotten to know them a little when he sheltered in their village, until the dead monsters around him took them hostage.
"Stay off the main roads when your heading back to your village. They always try to grab people on the easier paths. Take any weapon you can here, it's the only way to dissuade them."
With that he leaped over the barricade wall. He would never see them again, it was better this way. The wind whistling in his ears as he guided himself downhill. Landing before leaping again as he made his way to the flat green plains. Finally slowing as he grunted. His arm was dislocated from the fight as he bit his lower lip. Tightening the already prepared splint over his arm as he fixed it with a quick pull as a pained chirp left him. He collapsed back into the grass. Breathing steadying as the pain turned into a soft familiar ache. His body constantly hurt these days and it was only getting worse with every fight. The constant rebuilding of himself would only do so much until his body couldn't take it anymore.
Turner's back hit the soft grass as he stared up at the blue skies. It was peaceful sight that he just wanted to stare at forever. He would have to get up though sometime, He would wander to someplace with hope to live in peace. And slavers would come to ruin it all. Again and Again. He let out a pained chitter as his eyes closed. Letting unconscious take him. His dreams were much better than reality anyway.
