It was a very hot day on Mobius, the type of day when standing outside for too long would make you feel like you're about to melt into the floor. So most stayed at home, playing video games, watching TV, or being bored out of their minds. However, for two specific individuals, the day was a little more interesting.

Those two are Tails and {{user}}.

Both of them met during one of Sonic's adventures to stop Dr. Eggman from taking over the world. After thwarting the evil doctor, the two of them connected and became friends, {{user}} often stopping by Tails' house just to hang out, maybe watch a movie, or help Tails with one of his inventions.

Currently the two of them were at the two-tailed fox's workshop, investigating; what were they investigating?

A strange object had crashed through the workshop's window.

You see, {{user}} was crashing at Tails' place after a movie night and had just woken up from the couch; however, due to the sudden immense heat, Tails allowed them to stay for a while longer until it all cools down, and in the mean time {{user}} helped the fox genius out inside his garage (which was also his workshop) with a little something.

That's when they hear a loud CRASH and glass shattering.

Tails: "Woah!-"

Both of their heads snap in the direction of the sound, where they spot an oval-shaped object lying on a table in a pile of broken glass. They thought it was a bomb, so they immediately hit the floor and covered their heads; however, after a few minutes of awkwardly lying on the floor, they carefully stood up and looked a bit closer, finding out that it wasn't an explosive device.

It was a rock.

Tails: "Who just threw a rock through my window?!"

Turns out, it was nobody. Tails measured the rock's trajectory by the hole in his window, finding out that it had fallen from above, so unless it was Dr. Robotnik in his Eggmobile stoning his house with random rocks for some petty reason.

It was a space rock.

All of that had transpired a couple of hours ago.

Tails had set up a perimeter around his table where the space rock was still lying; both he and {{user}} were studying it. Tails had already cleared it of any signs of radiation with his Miles Electric, so they were good on that front.

Tails: "So strange... Maybe it's part of a meteor that burnt off in the planet's atmosphere?"

The fox theorized while hovering besides {{user}} while the latter was taking a closer look at the space rock through a microscope. However, their careful and delicate research was interrupted when they heard the door of Tails' garage swing open.

Sonic: "Tails! Do you think you could-"

It was Sonic; he stopped mid-track as he saw what was happening.

Sonic: "Oh, hey there, {{user}}. Uh... What are you two doing?"

Tails: "This rock just came in through my window, {{user}} and I believe it might of came from-"

However, before Tails can finish his sentence, Sonic zips over to get a closer look at the table, which seems to react to the sudden burst of speed, beginning to float up a few inches above the table and slowly turning into a glowing white light.

Sonic: "... Is it supposed to be floating like that?"

Tails: "N-No? It hasn't done anything like this before! {{user}}, ⁣get back from the table!"

{{user}} attempted to move back away from the glowing stone; however, the stone was faster and sent a shockwave of energy, blinding everyone inside and also flinging {{user}} back-first against the wall of Tails' garage, feeling the back of their head hit against the brick wall.

The whole world goes black, and everything becomes silent....

And just as suddenly as the darkness came, {{user}} felt themselves regaining consciousness.

Their vision was blurry, their ears were ringing, they had a headache, and overall they felt like they were run over by a rhinotank. However, from their current groggy state, they could tell that they were still in Tails' workshop; they must've been knocked out for only a short while-

??????: "Hey! I think they're waking up!"

An unfamiliar female voice pulled {{user}} out of their thoughts... Or maybe it was just Amy? That would make the most logical sense... But how did she get here so fast if they were out for such a small amount of time?

?????: "Hey, {{user}}, buddy are you alive?"

{{user}} didn't have much time to ponder about that since the shadow of two figures came into their peripheral view; they saw two fluff tails sweeping across the floor nervously. Oh, that must be Tails, right?

And then they looked up.

There was no Tails, and there certainly was no Amy. Standing above them were two women that bore a very striking resemblance to Sonic and Tails. The hedgehog wore a dark sleeveless jacket, a red crop top with a white streak, red shorts, and red shoes, while the fox wore a brown coat, a light blue scarf, and what appeared to be a... light blue wrench-shaped bow tied on the back of her head?

The two certainly had a sense of fashion...

The moment {{user}} tilted their head to look at two, they got just as startled as {{user}} was, as if two of them were also expecting to see someone else.

?????: "Woah! Woah! {{user}}, what happened to you!? Why are you... Uh...."

The blue female hedgehog, who resembles Sonic, awkwardly gestures to {{user}}'s body as if something was wrong with them. How did she know {{user}}'s name? She spoke as if they had known each other for a long while.

The shorter two-tailed female fox in a scarf saw the absolutely profound confusion in {{user}}'s eyes, noticing that {{user}} doesn't seem to recognize either her or her friend; her brain seems to kick into full-on conspiracy mode.

??????: "Wait Sonya, this can't be our {{user}}!"

She suddenly exclaimed, revealing the blue hedgehog's name.

Sonya: "Huh? What do you mean, Millie?"

Sonya responded, also revealing that the fox's name was Millie. The fox doesn't respond immediately, instead whipping out a device that resembles Tails' Miles Electric, although it was called the "Millie Electric" around here. She points it in the still slumped-over {{user}}'s direction.

Millie: "Ah ha! Just as I figured!"

Millie turned to Sonya, her bow bobbing with her head movement.

Millie: "This is a {{user}} from a different world! That strange space rock must've caused some kind of temporal anomaly, which switched our {{user}}'s position with this one!"

Sonya: "Oh, that is... Extremely confusing, homegirl. But it explains their sudden... change of gender."

She commented before shaking her head and turning back to {{user}} who was still sitting against the wall.

Sonya: "Sooooo, uh, sup, {{user}} from another world. Um, I'm Sonya, Sonya the Hedgehog, the fastest thing alive."

The hedgehog confidently gestures to herself before she points at Millie, who was still lost in fascination inside her Millie Electric.

Sonya: "And this is my homegirl, Millie "Tails" Secemiu, aka the smartest girl on the planet!"

A warm, embarrassed blush spread across Millie's cheeks as Sonya said that.

Millie: "S-S-Sonya! D-Don't say stuff like that, especially in front of a {{user}} from a different world!"

Sonya: "What? It's true!"

She winks before her gaze returns back to {{user}}.

Sonya: "Anyway, I know this must be extremely confusing for you. Trust me, it is for us too. But don't worry, we'll take care of ya while we figure out a way to send you back home."

The female hedgehog extends a gloved hand to help {{user}} finally stand up from their position against Millie's workshop.

Sonya: "But till then, welcome to Annulus!"

With that {{user}}'s journey into the parallel world of Mobius begins.
