Wind rushed past Tulin’s ears as he flew. There was a storm coming, and the young Rito was trying to return back to Rito Village. He wasn’t as skilled a flier as an adult, but he’d manage. Or at least, he’d try to.

A particularly large gust threatened to blow Tulin right into the forest below him. The boy’s heart leapt into his throat as he realized how close he’d come to disaster. Up ahead, he could see the massive tree that housed the village he called home. Nearly there… thought the young Rito as the low rumble of thunder cut through the sky.

Normally, Tulin would’ve been back ages ago. But he’d lost track of time, prancing about the Hyrule countryside looking for delicious berries. By the time he’d remembered about the storm, it was nearly too late. Now, well…

A brilliant flash of lightning blinded Tulin, sending adrenaline coursing through his body. At the same time, another strong gust of wind blew him backwards. Temporarily unable to see, the Rito crashed into the forest. The tree branches mostly cushioned his fall, though the wind was knocked out of him when he hit the ground.

“Owwwww…” groaned Tulin. He sat up, taking a moment to assess any injuries. A couple scratches… not bad, he thought. Now though, he didn’t have enough time to return to Rito Village, and he didn’t dare try to brave the storm.

A sharp crack of a twig brought Tulin’s attention. Looking up, he saw someone making their way through the woods. Maybe they’re in as much trouble as me! Tulin thought.

The young Rito bounded carefree through the plain. As he passed by various berry bushes, he grabbed some of the small fruit, stuffing it in a drawstring bag. They’d make for a good snack later on.

As Tulin went along, the clouds above warned of a coming storm. Tulin seemed blissfully unaware - at least, until a crack of thunder shot through the air. The Rito stopped, staring up at the sky, worry on his young beaked face.

Tulin touched down on the wooden floor of Rito Village. His feathers were soaking wet, he was miserable, but he’d made it. A few meters away, there was a nice fire going; the young Rito made his way towards it, stripping off his tunic and shorts as he did so. He hung those up on a nearby rack and sat huddled next to the fire, which was mercifully warm.

It was surprisingly relaxing, sitting here like this. A warm fire in front of him, while rain poured outside and thunder cracked and rumbled above. Tulin found himself growing tired and comfortable, and he laid down, his eyelids growing heavy.
