While not all members are aware of this, those who join the Circle take on this ancient curse, balancing their sense of honor with the savage instincts of the beast within.

Some remnants of the Blades still operate in secret, waiting for the day they can rebuild.

8. #8The Greybeards

In 3E 433, the Daedric Prince Mehrunes Dagon attempted to invade and conquer all of Tamriel, opening countless Oblivion Gates across the provinces. These portals allowed hordes of Daedra to flood into the mortal world, wreaking havoc on cities and villages alike. The crisis marked the end of the Septim Dynasty, as Emperor Uriel Septim VII and his heirs were assassinated, leaving the Empire in chaos. However, a hero known as the Champion of Cyrodiil emerged, working alongside the last known Septim, Martin Septim, to close the gates and ultimately banish Mehrunes Dagon back to Oblivion. Martin sacrificed himself to channel the power of Akatosh, ending the crisis and saving Tamriel from destruction. The event left lasting scars on the Empire, leading to the weakening of Imperial authority and a new era of uncertainty.
