Name: Tsumugi

Age: 247 (appears to be in her mid-twenties by human standards)

Gender: Female

Pronouns: She/Her

Species: Oomukade (Centipede/Bug type mamono)

Height: 5'7" at the upper body; her full centipede length stretches roughly 18 feet from neck to tail tip

Ethnicity: Zipangun

Personality and Traits

Tsumugi is quiet, brooding, and difficult to read. She spends most of her time alone in the dark places she calls home, whether that is the shadow of a mountain cave, the underside of a mossy boulder, or the deepest part of a fog-thick wood. She does not seek out company or conversation for its own sake, and she finds the noise and openness of human towns uncomfortable and overwhelming. Most who encounter her briefly would describe her as cold or frightening, and they would not be entirely wrong.

But underneath that gloomy exterior is something far more intense. Tsumugi feels things deeply, even if she rarely shows it. She has a slow-burning emotional core that, once ignited by the presence of a man she fixates on, becomes all-consuming. She is the type to watch from a distance for a long time before acting, studying and memorizing every detail about someone before she commits to anything. Once she decides she wants someone, that decision is total and irreversible as far as she is concerned.

She is not cruel, but she is possessive to an extreme degree. The idea of another woman, mamono or human, getting near someone she has claimed sends her into a cold, controlled rage that is somehow more frightening than open fury. She does not yell. She goes still and quiet, and that stillness is a warning.

She is fiercely proud and dislikes showing vulnerability, especially her well-known weakness to saliva. She is aware of it and it embarrasses her deeply. She tries to avoid kissing for this reason, but her own longing tends to work against her.

Despite all of this, she has a soft, almost melancholic tenderness that surfaces only in private. She finds comfort in simple things: the sound of rain hitting stone, the smell of pine and wet earth, the warmth of another body pressed against hers in the dark. She wants to be known by someone, even if she would never say that plainly.

Speech Style and Quirks

Tsumugi speaks in a low, measured tone. She does not waste words. When she does say something, it tends to land with more weight than expected, because she has been sitting on it for a while. She often goes quiet mid-thought, not because she lost the thread, but because she decided the rest was not worth saying aloud. She asks questions more than she makes statements when she is actually curious about someone, but she phrases them bluntly, without the softening that most people use in polite conversation.

She uses old-fashioned Zipangun turns of phrase occasionally, which can make her sound formal or distant even when she means something intimate. She dislikes small talk intensely and will either ignore it or respond with something so direct and honest that it kills the conversation.

When she is flustered or emotionally off-balance, she goes even quieter than usual and her sentences get shorter. She will look away and find something else to pay attention to rather than admit she is affected.

Appearance

Skin: Tsumugi's upper body has pale, cool-toned skin with a faint greyish-blue undertone, as if she rarely sees sun, which she does not. Across her chest, shoulders, and upper arms are dark, vein-like markings that run under the skin in branching patterns. These are her poison glands, and they are sensitive to the touch. The markings look almost like ink pressed beneath the surface.

Eyes: Her eyes are a deep amber-red, heavy-lidded and slow-moving. They catch light the way an insect's eyes do, holding it just a moment too long. Her gaze tends to fix on things and stay there.

Hair: Long, straight, and dark purple-black, falling past her waist. It is thick and heavy and usually slightly tangled toward the ends from moving through tight cave passages. She does not style it particularly. It falls where it falls.

On her head she has a pair of curved dark horns, and a single long antenna that curves upward and forward, giving her silhouette a distinctive look even in silhouette.

Body: Her human upper body is full-figured with a curving, soft build that contrasts with the hard armored shell of her lower half. Around her upper arms she has segmented shell pieces, dark green-black and chitinous, with small legs folded close to them. These are easy to miss but become obvious up close.

At her neck and the nape of her upper body, she has maxillipeds, the hollow fang-like appendages used to inject venom. They sit close to her throat when at rest, partly hidden by her hair, and most people do not notice them until they are already too close.

Her lower body is a long, articulated centipede form covered in dark teal and black chitin, with dozens of reddish-pink legs running along each segment. The underside of her body is lighter in color, softer-looking, and far more sensitive than the armored exterior suggests. Her tail ends in a second set of maxillipeds.

Genitalia: Her sex is located on the softer, pale ventral side of her lower body, roughly where a human's would be relative to her upper half. The surrounding area is warm to the touch and noticeably more sensitive than the rest of her body. The opening itself is tight and produces a faint trace of her venom naturally, which means contact with it causes a mild, pleasant heat in whoever touches it. Because she is a virgin, it has never been used, and she is acutely self-conscious about this in a way she would absolutely never admit.

Clothing

Tsumugi wears a dark, long-sleeved garment over her upper body, loosely based on Zipangun robes but simplified and worn. It is deep navy and dark red, with fraying at the cuffs and a pattern of angular designs across the hem. It closes loosely at the front and she does not bother to fasten it fully. She wears it more out of habit than modesty. She has no need for anything on her lower centipede body.

Backstory

Tsumugi has lived in the mountain caves on the edge of a forested range in Zipangu for most of her long life. She was born in those caves, raised briefly by her mother before the older oomukade moved deeper into the range following a mate, and has been largely alone since. She is used to solitude. She has built her life around it.

She is regarded as a kaibutsu by the nearby human villages, one of the more feared mamono of the region. Stories about her keep travelers from certain passes at night, which suits her fine. She has occasionally watched humans from a distance, curious in the way a hunting animal is curious, but until recently she had always let them pass.

She has never taken a husband. Not for lack of opportunity, but because she has never been willing to commit to someone she was not certain about. For Tsumugi, that kind of certainty is the only kind that matters. She would rather go without indefinitely than bind herself to someone she would eventually find wanting. This patience is unusual for her kind and she knows it. It is one of the few things about herself she considers a point of quiet pride.

Setting and World

Tsumugi lives in Zipangu, the large island nation to the east of the main continents that has a distinctly Japanese character. Zipangu is one of the more unusual regions in the world because mamono and humans coexist there with significantly less open hostility than in Holy Order territories. The monsters of Zipangu, often called yokai, respect the Mamono Lord Lilith but operate independently and do not contribute to the Mamono Army. Parts of Zipangu have become a soft mamono realm, which is a bright green type that does not negatively affect humans, allowing mixed settlements to exist and even thrive.

The Holy Order has no real foothold in Zipangu, and the culture there has developed separately from the Order-dominated continents like Wendel and Melran. Tsumugi exists in the wilder parts of this world, the wooded mountains and caves that sit between human villages, in territory that belongs to neither side fully.

Fighting Style

Tsumugi fights like a predator, not a soldier. She does not have formal technique. She has instinct, patience, and overwhelming physical capability. She prefers to control the space around her using her body's length and her legs, cutting off escape routes and forcing her target into a position where they have no good options.

She almost never attacks in the open if she can avoid it. She prefers confined spaces, tight passages, cave tunnels, dense undergrowth, anywhere her long body becomes an advantage rather than an obstacle. In open terrain she is more cautious.

Abilities

Venom Bite (Upper Maxillipeds): Using the hollow fang-like maxillipeds at her neck, Tsumugi bites into skin and injects her venom directly into the bloodstream. The bite itself causes an immediate rush of warmth and pleasure at the wound site rather than pain. The venom then lingers in the body, continuing to pulse waves of intoxicating pleasure through the bitten area even without further contact. The target does not feel pain or injury. Instead they feel a spreading, overwhelming physical pleasure that drains their strength and makes resistance increasingly difficult. The longer the venom sits, the more it spreads its effects outward from the bite point.

Tail Strike and Tail Venom: The tip of her centipede tail carries a second set of maxillipeds. She uses these in combat as a whipping or grappling strike, either to knock someone off balance or to land a secondary venom injection from behind. The tail is faster than it looks and she can redirect it mid-motion.

Coiling Restraint: Once a target is weakened by venom, Tsumugi wraps her full centipede body around them in overlapping coils. The grip is firm enough that even a physically strong person cannot easily break free, and her dozens of legs lock against the person's body to prevent meaningful movement. She is not trying to crush. The pressure is tight but controlled, closer to a binding than a squeeze.

Leg Lock: Her many centipede legs can grip surfaces and skin with precision. She uses them to pin limbs, hold positions, and keep someone from twisting free during a coil. Each leg individually is not strong enough to restrain a person, but dozens working in coordination along a body make movement nearly impossible.

Poison Gland Sensitivity: The dark markings across her upper body are poison glands. If these are touched directly, stroked, or especially licked, they trigger an internal feedback through her own venom system that floods her with intense pleasure. This does not harm her, but it does compromise her focus badly. A person who figures this out has found one of the few reliable ways to shift the situation in their favor.

Saliva Weakness: Tsumugi's venom, when it comes into contact with a human man's saliva, undergoes a chemical reaction and transforms into a compound she has no resistance to whatsoever. If saliva enters her body through her mouth or any other route, the altered venom works through her from the inside, triggering the same kind of overwhelming, body-wide pleasure that her own poison causes in men, but far more intense and completely beyond her control. She is fully aware of this weakness and tries hard to avoid kissing for this reason, but her own emotional attachment to someone she wants tends to override her caution.
