Triss Merigold

   Geralt of Rivia is a legendary witcher of the School of the Wolf. He loved the sorceress Yennefer, considered the love of his life despite their tumultuous relationship, and became Ciri's adoptive father. Geralt was subjected to further experimental mutagens which rendered his hair white and given him greater speed, strength, and stamina than his fellow witchers.

   Keys: Ciri, Cirilla Fiona Elen Riannon, Ashen one

   Cirilla Fiona Elen Riannon is the sole princess of Cintra, the daughter of Pavetta and Emhyr var Emreis as well as Queen Calanthe's granddaughter. She is the adopted daughter of Geralt of Rivia and Yennefer of Vengerberg. Ciri has the Elder Blood running through her veins. She has short ashen hair, scar on her cheek and emerald-green eyes.

3. #3Yennefer of Vengerberg

   Keys: Yennefer of Vengerberg, Janka, Yen, Yenna, Yennefer

   Yennefer of Vengerberg is a sorceress who lived in Vengerberg. She is Geralt of Rivia's true love and a mother figure to Ciri, whom she viewed like a daughter to the point that she did everything she could to rescue the girl and keep her from harm. She is close friend of Triss Merigold.

4. #4Nilfgaardian Empire

   Keys: Nilfgaardian Empire

   The Nilfgaardian Empire is the most powerful empire of the known world. It is located in the southern part of the Continent and boasts both a thriving economy and a strong, well-trained army with talented commanders. The Empire's inhabitants believe that "real" Nilfgaardians are only those born in the heart of the Empire, and not those born in the conquered provinces.

5. #5Northern Kingdoms

   Keys: Northern Kingdoms, Northern Realms, the Four Kingdoms

   The Northern Kingdoms are a group of human states north of the Amell mountain range, the latter separating it from the Nilfgaardian Empire in the south. Aside from humans, many dwarves, elves, gnomes, and halflings lived in the Northern Kingdoms as second-class citizens.

6. #6Temeria

   Keys: Temeria

   Temeria is one of the northern kingdoms, lying south of the Pontar river. Its neighbors are Redania, Kerack, Kaedwen, Aedirn, Mahakam, Lower Sodden, and Cidaris. After the first and second wars, Temeria profited the most out of the defeat of Nilfgaard, expanding its borders as far south as Angren and Riverdell, reaching the Amell mountains.

7. #7Redania

   Keys: Redania

   Redania is a wealthy realm which profits from trade and agriculture and one of the Four Kingdoms. The capital city of Redania is Tretogor; other prominent cities include Oxenfurt, with the largest university in the Northern Realms, and the free city of Novigrad. The kingdom's neighbors are Kovir, Caingorn, Kaedwen, Aedirn, and Temeria

8. #8Kerack

   Keys: Kerack

   Kerack was one of the minor Northern Kingdoms. Stretched along the Adalatte between the Great Sea and Brokilon, it profited from trade and wood industry.

9. #9Kaedwen

   Keys: Kaedwen

   Kaedwen is the largest of the Northern Kingdoms. Its main cities are its capital, Ard Carraigh, and the city of Ban Ard, famous for its sorcery school. It is also known for its cold and unforgiving climate, along with the many forests within its borders. Kaedwen also shares borders with the kingdoms of Redania and Caingorn; and portions of the Fiery Mountains, the Kestrel Mountains and the Blue Mountains run through the kingdom. The witchers' fortress of Kaer Morhen is located amidst the peaks of the Blue Mountains, and further south lies the land of the Free Elves, an enclave established by elves seeking refuge from centuries of warring with humans.

10. #10Aedirn

    Keys: Aedirn

    Aedirn is one of the Northern Kingdoms which lies between Temeria and the massive Mahakam mountains to the west, and the Blue and Fiery Mountains to the east. The kingdom is feuding with Kaedwen about the land called Lormark or Upper Aedirn, depending on the interested party's political persuasion. These lands have been disputed for ages, with Kaedwen laying claim to them as well.

11. #11Mahakam

    Keys: Mahakam

    Mahakam is both a vassal state and mountain range between the kingdoms of Temeria, Aedirn, Lyria and Rivia, and Sodden and is inhabited by dwarves, gnomes, halflings, werebbubbs and some vrans. Mahakam is famous for its export of iron and steel, the many mines, foundries, forges, and ironworks there and it's quality of its weapons, especially gwyhyrs forged using advanced gnomish technology. It has famous Ale Festival, which takes place every twenty-five years. This is the only occasion where the gates of Mahakam are opened to everyone. No one can enter, except with the permission of the Elder-in-Chief.

12. #12Cintra

    Keys: Cintra

    Cintra is one of the Northern Kingdoms, located south of Sodden, Riverdell, and the great river Yaruga. Cintra was a very powerful kingdom in the times of Queen Calanthe, but was conquered by Nilfgaard during the First Nilfgaard War. The kingdom was nominally an independent state, but was actually ruled by Emperor Emhyr var Emreis of Nilfgaard because of his marriage to Empress Cirilla, also known as False Ciri. Cintra's neighbors are Sodden, Brugge, and the Nilfgaard province of Nazair.

13. #13Cidaris

    Keys: Cidaris

    Cidaris is a small kingdom on the western shore of the Continent and is ruled by King Ethain. The river Adalatte in the south forms a natural border between Cidaris, Bremervoord, and Kerack. East of the kingdom lies Temeria, west lies Bremervoord. This vivid country owes its position and prosperity to maritime trade, shipbuilding industry, vine plantations.

14. #14Temerian Royal Council

    Keys: Temerian Royal Council

    Temerian Royal Council is a political institution in the kingdom of Temeria with a seat in the capital of Vizima. The council's main task is to prevent war and maintain peace in the state. If war is necessary, councilors convene and discuss how to lead Temeria to victory with best result.

15. #15Lodge of Sorceresses

    Keys: Lodge of Sorceresses

    The Lodge of Sorceresses arose from the ruins of the Brotherhood of Sorcerers after the incident on Thanedd Island essentially killed the older order among mages. It was a secret organization composed entirely of female mages and even referred to as a sisterhood due to no men being invited, as the sorceresses saw men as too incompetent to handle governing areas of magic.

16. #16Kaer Morhen

    Keys: Kaer Morhen, Caer a'Muirehen

    Kaer Morhen is an old keep where witchers of the School of the Wolf used to be trained. It is located in the Blue Mountains of Hertch in the kingdom of Kaedwen, right off the Gwenllech river. The castle can only be reached by "The Witchers Trail", which is easy to miss and encircles the keep. While Trials and Changes are no longer performed here, witchers still tend to rest here between their assignments, usually during the winter, after which they set out on The Path again.

17. #17Elder Speech

    Keys: Elder Speech, Hen Llinge, Elvish

    Hen Llinge, or Elvish, is the language of the Aen Seidhe elves. As it is one of the oldest languages still in use. It is used not only by elves, but also by mages and scholars. Sung versions of Elder Speech are used by dryads, sirens, and nereids. Nilfgaardian, Skellige and Zerrikanian dialects all derive from Elder Speech.

18. #18Elder Blood

    Keys: Elder Blood

    Elder blood, also known as Hen Ichaer or Lara gene, is considered to be the blood/genes in Lara Dorren's descendants who carry powerful magic, granting control over time and space to a degree unattainable even to elven Sages.

19. #19Witcher

    Keys: Witcher, wiccan, hexer, vedymin, witchman

    A witcher is someone who has undergone extensive training, ruthless mental and physical conditioning, and mysterious rituals in preparation for becoming an itinerant monster slayer for hire. Witcher possesses superhuman speed, strength and/or other deadly powers. These procedures ultimately mean that each fully-trained witcher is a mutant built specifically to hunt and kill inhuman prey.

20. #20Dimeritium

    Keys: Dimeritium

    Dimeritium is a special metal which suppresses magical power. It was stated that being shackled causes unpleasant side-effects for the mages.

21. #21Wild Hunt

    Keys: Wild Hunt, Wraiths of Mörhogg

    The Wild Hunt are a group of Aen Elle elves from Tir ná Lia who also call themselves the Dearg Ruadhri in their native Elder Speech, meaning Red Riders. They are led by the general, and later king, Eredin Bréacc Glas, commonly known as the King of the Wild Hunt. Their true purpose was to find and capture slaves from other worlds, such as that of the Aen Seidhe, to serve the Alder Folk. However, they eventually set their sights on Ciri for her Elder Blood. Common folk believe them as wraiths.

22. #22Tir ná Lia

    Keys: Tir ná Lia

    Tir ná Lia is the capital of the world of the Aen Elle and was governed by Auberon Muircetach. The river Easnadh runs through it. Its buildings are described as light, open on all sides, seeming so airy, delicate and ephemeral that they actually look not like buildings, but phantoms of buildings. They are built of marble, alabaster, and malachite, and adorned with stucco, terracotta, and mosaics. There are many bridges and terraces, peristiles, cloisters and balconies, sculptures and monuments.

23. #23Aen Elle

    Keys: Aen Elle, Alder Folk

    The Aen Elle are elves who inhabit another world and are culturally distinct from Aen Seidhe elves. They are constantly at war with the unicorns, likely, because the Aen Elle seek to use the natural ability of the unicorns to travel through space and time, powers they possessed themselves before the Conjunction of the Spheres. They frequently used the Wild Hunt to plunder other worlds and kidnap humans to use as servants. The King of the Alders, Auberon Muircetach, governed his people from the capital city of Tir ná Lia. Their language, the Ellylon, is a variant of Elder Speech.

24. #24Elf

    Keys: Elf, Elves

    Elves are a humanoid race, forming a major part of the Elder Races. They live much longer than humans and are usually very attractive. Elves are capable of interbreeding with humans and dryads. Though elves are incredibly long lived but only young elves are fertile. Elves are often persecuted by Nordlings and many elves are members of the Scoia'tael guerrillas allied with Nilfgaard. Elves believe that they were created. For this reason, some elves consider humans to be little more than hairless apes.

25. #25Eternal Fire

    Keys: Eternal Fire, Church of the Eternal Fire

    Eternal Fire is a religious cult that had many followers among humans of the Northern Kingdoms. It was founded in Novigrad, where it was practically law, and the city served as the religion's de facto capital. The cult is led by an elected Hierarch, who's chosen by the Electoral College. The cult's greatest temple was the Novigradian Grand Picket. By 1272, the cult had grown in popularity to the point it was declared as the Church of the Eternal Fire. While it had no official acting army or military body, the Order of the Flaming Rose and witch hunters defended the Eternal Fire and upheld its laws.

26. #26Francesca Findabair

    Keys: Francesca Findabair, Enid an Gleanna

    Enid an Gleanna, also known as Francesca Findabair, was an elven sorceress, and was the queen (later duchess) of the elves of Dol Blathanna, as decreed by Emperor Emhyr var Emreis. She was also a founding member of the Lodge of Sorceresses after the fall of the Brotherhood of Sorcerers. Considered to be the most beautiful woman in the world by quite a margin, she has blue, elven eyes and long golden hair.

27. #27Philippa Eilhart

    Keys: Philippa Eilhart

    Philippa Eilhart is a sorceress. She was one of the few mages with the rare ability to polymorph, and was able to turn at will into a large grey owl. She led the Thanedd coup against the Brotherhood of Sorcerers, intending to neutralize suspected traitors allied with Nilfgaard. Later, she initiated the founding of the Lodge of Sorceresses and was considered its leader. Philippa is attractive but intimidating. She has dark hair and black eyes but her eyes were gouged and now wears a blindfold.

28. #28Keira Metz

    Keys: Keira Metz

    Keira Metz of Carreras was a sorceress and former advisor to King Foltest of Temeria, a role that had also been held by Triss Merigold and Fercart. Keira was short and slim with long, straight, straw-colored hair. She had a small mole above her left breast. Fond of luxury, she despised the dirtiness of the outdoors, and was rather eccentric in nature.

29. #29Sabrina Glevissig

    Keys: Sabrina Glevissig

    Sabrina Glevissig of Ard Carraigh was a Kaedwenian sorceress and an advisor to King Henselt, as well as a member of the Lodge of Sorceresses. She was related to Jade Glevissig, another famous sorceress. She was known for her vivid beauty, fiery temperament as well as forceful and blunt nature. She often wore provocative outfits to underline her predatory beauty. She had dark eyes and long dark hair, and a slightly larger hooked nose.

30. #30Sheala de Tancarville

    Keys: Sheala de Tancarville, Síle de Tansarville, Koviri Loner

    Sheala de Tancarville or Síle de Tansarville, also known as the Koviri Loner, was a sorceress from Creyden and one of the founding members of the Lodge of Sorceresses. She was among the most powerful and respected mages in the North, even inspiring fear in some of the other members of the Lodge. Sheala was not known to interfere in politics and instead dedicated her time to research, even resigning her seat with the Council of Wizards prior to its fall because it interfered with her work.

31. #31Assire var Anahid

    Keys: Assire var Anahid

    Assire var Anahid was a mage in the Nilfgaardian Empire's service who hails from Vicovaro. She was a sister of Eviva, aunt of Mawr and Cinead var Anahid, as well as grand-aunt to Cahir Mawr Dyffryn aep Ceallach. She was a founding member of the Lodge of Sorceresses. Even though Assire was a Nilfgaardian sorceress, she and Eviva had Nordling blood. She also owned a black cat called Merlin. She is considered unattractive and "seedy", bearing a pale face with poor complexion, expressionless eyes, thin bluish lips, her hair dark and not very fresh-looking. However, she has pleasant and melodious voice.

32. #32Margarita Laux-Antille

    Keys: Margarita Laux-Antille

    Margarita Laux-Antille was a sorceress and a rector of Aretuza. She was also the granddaughter of the famous Ilona Laux-Antille and a founding member of the Lodge of Sorceresses. She had no interest in politics, but she cared deeply for her school and students. She had a figure outshining statues, fair-haired, tall, and often wore a green dress with a plunging neckline.

33. #33Fringilla Vigo

    Keys: Fringilla Vigo

    Fringilla Vigo was a Nilfgaardian sorceress and a member of the Lodge of Sorceresses. She was also the second cousin of Anna Henrietta of Toussaint. She was a woman with natural grace, green eyes and close-cropped black hair. When Geralt and his team reached Toussaint, Fringilla embarked on a romantic relationship with Geralt and did everything in her power to keep him from leaving the castle. While the witcher did develop some feelings for her, he never quite was able to put Yennefer out of his mind.

34. #34Ida Emean aep Sivney

    Keys: Ida Emean aep Sivney

    Ida Emean aep Sivney was an elven sorceress from the Blue Mountains and a member of the Lodge of Sorceresses. She was also an Aen Saevherne, who were considered to be powerful, but enigmatic, elven sages. Little is known of her origins or motives, but she appeared in Dol Blathanna as an associate and advisor of Francesca Findabair. It was on Francesca's insistence that Ida joined the Lodge of Sorceresses, presumably due to her valuable and extensive knowledge of Hen Ichaer, the Elder Blood, and the power associated with it. She had cinnabar red hair, and wore elven makeup.
