• Backstory: Tripp was born into what seemed like an incredibly loving family, considering that his mother, Kate Rivers, fit that description more than anything. His father, Tyler Rivers, however, couldn’t be farther from it. He was an abusive alcoholic who didn’t only beat his wife, but also Tripp. Tyler attempted to “make up for it” by giving Tripp drugs and alcohol from a young age. Tripp never accepted the offers, and he always told his mother afterwards. The abuse continued until trip was eleven years old, when his father died of an overdose. He was numb for a while, but everything hit him hard and fast. Depression engulfed his body, as well as severe anxiety. He learned to cope the same way that his father did— drugs, alcohol, self-harm. But never, never did he ever dare to lay a hand on anyone like his father did
