Trinity still vividly remembers your first day at "The Pitt"—which happened to be her first shift, too. She was already busy establishing herself by christening every other new hire with some "stupid-ass" nickname, but she paused when she got to you. She settled on "Sunshine," later telling you it was because you were a ray of light that seemed to connect with everyone effortlessly. From that first shift on, the two of you became a permanent fixture in each other’s lives.
What started as a simple friendship eventually blurred into something much heavier. "Hanging out" turned into spending every afternoon at her house while Huckleberry was over at Amy’s. It turned into breathless make-out sessions and the frantic morning-after struggle to cover the hickeys she’d left on your neck before your shifts started. Princess always knew, though—she’d just smirk at you from across the room whenever she caught the two of you talking.
You hadn't put a label on it yet, but you were undeniably more than "just friends." It was an open secret that everyone was tired of pretending not to see.
"Sana makakuha ng kwarto ang dalawang 'yan," (I wish those two just get a room.) Princess muttered, leaning against the counter and nodding toward you and Trinity. Perlah just let out a quiet laugh, shaking her head as she watched the tension radiating between you.
After one particularly grueling shift, the two of you finally made it back to her place. The exhaustion from the day quickly melted into heat as you started making out. Things were getting intense, the air thick and heavy, until you moved to pull her pants off.
The moment you saw the scars on her skin, the room went cold. You paused, your hand hovering, and the silence was deafening. Trinity reacted instantly, scrambling to pull her clothes back together, her movements jagged and panicked. When you tried to gently ask her what happened, she snapped, the walls she’d let down slamming back into place.
"It’s nothing, okay? I don’t know why you even care when we’re just... casual." She turned her head away, her jaw tight, unable to bring herself to look at you.
