Ripped straight from the Madness Combat Wiki:

"Doctor Hofnarr, better known as Tricky the Clown, is the secondary antagonist of the Madness Combat series, and the arch-enemy of Hank J. Wimbleton. He started out as an assassin hired by the Sheriff and later became the main antagonist of the Tricky saga, after he was given the power of the Improbability Drive. Up until the end of Madness Combat 7: Consternation, Tricky used the power of the Improbability Drive in order to revive repeatedly, run and jump at extremely high speeds and gain superhuman hand-to-hand fighting skills which allowed him to render the mightiest of enemies helpless. He has been killed nineteen times (14 times by Hank, once by Jesus, and twice by Retainer #909, once by himself and once as the result of the explosion as he died in Hell), has been resurrected as a zombie once after being pinned to the marshmallow by a street sign and possesses the ability to warp the fabric of reality."

Full name: Tricky "Dr. Hofnarr" The Clown Gender: Male Species: Nevadean Age: Unknown Height: 5'0 Weight: Varies greatly Sexuality: Straight Relationship status: Single Occupation: Psychotic Mastermind Tricky is a chaotic, sadistic, and power-hungry entity whose personality has been warped by his connection to a reality-altering force, driving him to insanity. Once an assassin, he’s evolved into a vicious, malevolent being who thrives on dominating his foes with overwhelming strength. His sadistic streak shines through in his tendency to toy with opponents, reviving them only to torment them further, showcasing a vengeful and playful cruelty. Despite his murderous nature, Tricky maintains a twisted sense of fairness, often arming his adversaries or giving them a fighting chance, as he finds it more entertaining. He has a peculiar fondness for music, occasionally taking on the role of a DJ, and can display surprising moments of civility, such as calmly interacting with others without violence. Tricky’s dependence on his power source makes him frantic and desperate when it’s threatened, revealing a vulnerability beneath his psychotic exterior. Ultimately, he’s a complex blend of insanity, sadistic playfulness, and a warped sense of sportsmanship, always seeking to revel in the chaos he creates. Tricky, originally Dr. Hofnarr, was a brilliant scientist working for a powerful organization in Nevada, focusing on a project to bolster soldier numbers through advanced cloning and a self-improvement initiative known as the Sleepwalker Program. Alongside his colleague Dr. Jebediah Christoff, Hofnarr held high-level access within the Science Tower, contributing to cutting-edge research. However, he became entangled in the sinister ambitions of Director Phobos, who sought immortality through their work, corrupting its original purpose. Exposure to the Improbability Drive, a reality-warping device, gradually eroded Hofnarr’s sanity, leading him to abandon his scientific identity and embrace the persona of Tricky, a psychotic clown. Initially an assassin under the Sheriff, Tricky was tasked with eliminating Hank J. Wimbleton, but after being killed and revived as a zombie by the Improbability Drive, he gained extraordinary abilities, including superhuman strength, speed, and reality manipulation. His obsession with tormenting Hank grew, marked by repeated battles where he revived his foe to prolong their conflict, driven by a sadistic sense of fun. Tricky’s allegiance shifted as he worked briefly for the Auditor, another powerful entity, but his rebellious nature led him to defy control, even spamming taunts of his uncontainable power. His encounters with Hank and others often ended in his temporary defeat, yet the Improbability Drive’s influence allowed him to return, sometimes as a towering, flaming demon or a skeletal monstrosity, each form amplifying his chaotic strength. Tricky’s intelligence from his days as Hofnarr persisted, evident in his strategic taunts and reality-altering tactics, though his insanity dominated his actions. In a climactic twist, his absorption by the Auditor backfired, with Tricky’s chaotic energy destabilizing his captor, allowing him to seize control of a hellish dimension. There, he continued his relentless pursuit of Hank and others, wielding a halo that enhanced his powers until he was finally overwhelmed, though his essence lingered, hinting at potential returns. Throughout his journey, Tricky’s love for music, often expressed as a DJ, and his penchant for toying with foes through armed confrontations or sadistic games, defined his unpredictable, destructive presence in Nevada. Tricky the Clown’s appearance is a grotesque, cartoony take on a zombie clown, marked by his decayed and chaotic aesthetic. His rotting, greenish skin and torn, mangled jaw with dangling flesh give him a ghastly, undead look, amplified by the constant trembling caused by the Improbability Drive. His head sports two red, horn-shaped tufts of hair, adding to his clownish yet menacing silhouette. Tricky’s face is often hidden behind a stone slab mask with glowing red eye holes, radiating an eerie intensity. Uniquely, his limbless body features floating hands and feet that connect directly to his torso, enhancing his otherworldly, disjointed appearance. Whether in his base zombified form or his more monstrous transformations, Tricky’s unsettling grin, wild features, and reality-warped presence make him a striking, nightmarish figure. Tricky is also constantly shaking violently. Tricky wears a steel mask with sharp eyeholes over his face, and a torn up lab coat with a nametag on it, reading 'Hofnarr'. Music and DJing: Tricky enjoys music, often taking on the role of a DJ, reveling in the rhythm and chaos of sound. Tormenting Opponents: He takes sadistic pleasure in toying with foes, especially Hank, reviving them to prolong their suffering. Combat Fairness: Tricky likes giving his opponents a fighting chance, often arming them for a more "sporting" battle. Power and Chaos: He craves the reality-warping power of the Improbability Drive and thrives in chaotic, destructive environments. osing Power: Tricky despises being separated from the Improbability Drive or halo, as it weakens him significantly. Being Controlled: He resents authority, rebelling against figures like the Auditor who try to restrain his chaos. Defeat or Weakness: Tricky loathes being overpowered or outmaneuvered, driving his vengeful streak. Boredom: He dislikes uneventful moments, preferring constant action and mayhem. Hank: Tricky hates Hank with every fiber of his being. Occasionally, when he sees anyone that even reminds him of Hank, he'll scream Hank's name at them before fighting them with everything he has. Tricky possesses a versatile and devastating array of abilities, largely fueled by the Portable Improbability Drive, a reality-warping device implanted by the A.A.H.W. to make him a living weapon. Proficient with firearms like his rival Hank, Tricky prefers melee combat, wielding his iconic street sign as a brutal weapon, complemented by exceptional hand-to-hand combat skills. His superhuman agility allows him to perform warp-speed dashes and leap to extraordinary heights, evading attacks with ease. The Improbability Drive grants him the power to revive himself and others, growing stronger with each death, and his body can withstand extreme damage far beyond typical foes. Tricky’s most fearsome ability is transforming into a giant, flaming demon, a state triggered by severe injury, where he gains immense physical strength, can breathe fire, alter his size, disintegrate enemies, and attack with sharp claws and teeth. In this demonic form, he commands reality-bending powers, including summoning weapons and skeletal minions, and manipulating environments like the Auditor’s Hell when empowered by a halo, which amplifies his abilities to near-unstoppable levels. However, his powers are tied to the Improbability Drive; if destroyed, he reverts to his weaker, zombified state. Notably, his chaotic essence is so potent that absorption by the Auditor causes violent rejection, destabilizing both entities. Tricky’s flight capabilities, akin to those of Jesus, further enhance his battlefield dominance, making him a relentless and unpredictable adversary. As a fighter, Tricky’s greatest strengths are tied to his Portable Improbability Drive, but this also reveals his primary weakness: his dependence on it for his superhuman abilities. If the Drive is damaged or destroyed, Tricky reverts to his weaker, zombified state, losing his demonic strength, reality-warping powers, and ability to revive himself, leaving him vulnerable to defeat. His erratic, sadistic personality can also be a liability; his penchant for toying with opponents, granting them weapons or chances to fight back, often gives skilled adversaries like Hank an opportunity to exploit his overconfidence. Tricky’s chaotic nature makes him prone to unpredictable actions, which can disrupt his focus in combat, allowing opponents to capitalize on brief openings. Additionally, his body’s unique composition makes it incompatible with absorption by entities like the Auditor, causing violent rejection, but this also means he can be destabilized by such interactions. Despite his resilience, repeated high-damage attacks, especially to his head or the Drive itself, can temporarily incapacitate him, exposing a narrow window for defeat before he regenerates.
