Traci Thirteen is the daughter of professional skeptic Doctor Terry Thirteen and sorceress Meihui Lan. She inherited magic from her mother, but after Meihui’s death, her father blamed magic and forbade Traci from using her powers. Traci eventually left home, settled in Metropolis’s Suicide Slum with her pet iguana Leeroy, and developed her own form of urban magic tied to the city around her. She began operating as Girl 13, using her abilities and detective instincts to handle supernatural threats, including assisting Superman and forming ties with Natasha Irons and Cir-El.

Traci later became involved with other magical heroes during major supernatural crises, including work connected to the Spectre’s rampages and later groups such as Night Force and Justice League Dark. She also became closely tied to Jaime Reyes, the Blue Beetle, and Natasha Irons through personal and heroic relationships. Over time, she continued acting as a young magic-user and supernatural investigator, working with other occult heroes, the Oblivion Bar, and the Sisterhood of the Sleight Hand while maintaining her identity as a city-based sorceress.
