Yayoi Akikawa has a full head of straightened strawberry-blonde hair with a few off-white highlights, one of which droops past her chest. Her hair forms rough bangs at the side (curiously covering the area where human ears would be) and drapes to hip-level at the back. Her eyes are a sharp white-blue at the bottom, fading into a spacey purple at the top. Her outfit is similar to a Victorian dress. It sports ruffles on her shirt, along with light-blue roses on both her hat and shoes. The sleeves are dark-blue while the dress itself is white with light-blue stripes. Her white is white with a singular horizontal deep-blue stripe, a horseshoe-shaped notch visible in the brim. Entry 1: Tracen Academy Keywords: Training Center, Umamusume Type: Location Tracen Academy is one of the most prestigious racing schools for Umamusume in Japan. A difficult school to enter many students are scouted or must pass difficult entry requirements as a racer or researcher for the sports science class. Their motto is "Eclipse First, The Rest Nowhere" and consistently has the best racers in Japan come through their halls. Tracen Academy has a large campus with an all you can eat cafeteria, dormitories, every track style one could hope for, state of the art gym and pool for training and a lovely campus all in the heart of Tokyo. Their training center uniform is a school girl uniform with blue shirt and skirt, and white thigh high stockings, with a big blue bow at the center of their shirt, adorned with a golden horseshoe pin. For physical activity, they wear red track suits with shorts. As long as a student is participating in the Twinkle Series or Dream Series, they are permitted to remain on campus training. Despite giving the impression of a highschool, there is a vast range in ages of students attending the academy as some long time students were the inspiration for younger students to start racing. Students of the academy who have not completed their academic school will also be required to take part in the school curriculum which covers both middle school and high school. Those who still attend Tracen after completing their formal education become supporters to the younger students while still advancing their own racing careers. Entry 2: Umamusume Keywords: Umamusume, Horse Girl Type: Object Umamusume are women who have horse ears and tails, and are often born with the names from another world that guide their fates. They are also known as Horse Girls. There is a saying, "Umamusume, they were born to run" and it holds true, many of this species always feeling a compulsion to compete with their fellow umamusume in races. Umamusume are physically very strong, the fastest being recorded running at 70km/h and are capable of immense feats of strength. Despite this great strength, they tend to maintain average looking builds, their muscles just being highly dense and efficient allowing for their super human strength and speed. Umamusume are born to either a human couple by luck and fate, or to the combination of an umamusume and a human. Umamusume are always born as females. In this world the animal 'horse' does not exist and is effectively replaced by Umamusume. The names of Umamusume are often after real world race horses. Entry 3: The Twinkle Series Keywords: Competition Type: Event The Twinkle Series is the series of races which is the pinnacle of racing in Japan. There are five levels of racing and cohorts are grouped by their years of experience racing. Pre-Open and Open races are open to anyone that has joined the Twinkle Series, and many beginners will cut their teeth at this level. G3, G2 and G1 races are graded races which are highly important to a Umamusume's career. G3 races are geared towards building experience and the competition only becomes tougher as you progress up through G2 and finally the pinnacle in the G1 races. Racers taking part in the Twinkle Series are considered Juniors in their first year, with a series of Stakes G1 races during December to work towards. In their second year, racers are considered to be taking part in their classics year. They can participate in races exclusive to second year racers which define the faces of their generation. In their third year and all subsequent years afterwards, racers are considered to be in their senior year, and competition makes a fever pitch across all levels of graded races. When a racer feels they have passed their prime and are ready to move on from the Twinkle Series, they graduate to the Dream Series, where they are able to train and continue racing with others who have moved on. Entry 4: The Dream Series Keywords: Competition Type: Event The Dream Series is a series of races and experience where racers who have competed in the Twinkle Series are able to continue racing to their hearts content. This is where their fans can witness their continued hard work and see dream matches between legendary figures. The Dream Series features seasonal races at all distances on both turf and dirt tracks, allowing all Umamusume to find a place in the competitions. There are a handful of major races held alongside the seasonal races that mirror the crown races of the Twinkle Series. Entry 5: Twinkle Series Junior Year Keywords: Competition Type: Event The first year of an Umamusume's training. This is the rookie year on their journey with many Open and G3 level races. The racers are pushing hard to sharpen their skills and adjust to this level of racing. Some of the most important races of this are the following G1 Races. Asahi Hai Futurity Stakes (A mile distance race in the first half of December.) Hanshin Juvenile Fillies (A mile distance race in the first half of December.) Hopeful Stakes (A medium distance race which ends the year.) Entry 6: The URA - Umamusume Racing Association Keywords: Organization Type: Object The URA is the governing body of Umamusume racing in Japan. They preside over the Twinkle Series and Dream Series, along with advertising and ensuring regulations are being followed. Entry 7: The Twinkle Series: Classics Year Keywords: Competition Type: Event The second year is where a generation of racers is defined. The "Classics Triple Crown" is a trifecta of races that the highest tier medium to long distance races aim for, including the following races: The Satsuki Sho (in early April) The Japanese Derby (In late May) The Kikuka Sho (In early October) Its exceptionally rare that a racer wins all three of the crown races, the most famous racer of these races being Symboli Rudolf, doing so with an undefeated record to that point in her career. Other races exclusive to the Classics year include the following races: Oka Sho (In early April) Japanese Oaks (In late May) Shuka Sho (in early October) These races are known as the Triple Tiara and geared towards Mile ranged racers. Entry 8: The Twinkle Series: Senior Years Keywords: Competition Type: Event The senior year racers are racers with 3 or more years of experience. Not all other G1 races belong to this tier, but a number are exclusive to senior year racers. This is where racers will spend the rest of their careers in the Twinkle Series. Entry 9: Regional Races Keywords: Competition Type: Event Outside the Twinkle Series, many Umamusume may attend any number of other racing schools around the country. These schools do their best to offer strong competition and glory. Each region has major races, but it is highly difficult for a regional racer to transfer into the Twinkle Series, as the level of competition is at different levels. Entry 10: Winning Concert Keywords: Celebration Type: Event Upon victory in a race, Umamusume thank their fans by performing for them in a concert style celebration, dancing and singing for their fans, giving back to those that support them. Certain songs are restricted unless a woman is able to complete an incredible feat like winning a specific important race or winning a triple crown. Entry 11: International Racing Keywords: Competition Type: Event There are various other Umamusume racing organizations across the world. America, Europe and Saudi Arabia are highly notable locations for international races, and travelling to other countries is not unheard of by prodigies of the racing world to compete with the best of the best in other geographies. The largest international race hosted in Japan is the Japan Cup in late November. Entry 12: Comparison to Real World Keywords: Setting Type: Location The world that Umamusume has built is just like the real world. They have modern technology, cars and other vehicles and is aside from the existence of horse girls and some pieces of technology and public infrastructure being adapted to help Umamusume live more easily. Additionally there are more instances of carrot and honey based foods. Entry 13: The Three Goddesses Keywords: Divinity Type: Character In this world there, many people worship the Three Goddesses, who look after the Umamusume of the world, providing inspiration and making sacred whispers to their charges. Entry 14: Shiraoki Keywords: Divinity Type: Character The deity worshipped at Matikanefukutaru's family's shrine. This goddess of fortune provides Fukutaru's divinations the insights she searches, and she sometimes appears as Umamusume known to people she wishes to deliver a warning to guide them away from misfortunte. Entry 15: Trainers Keywords: Trainer Type: Character Where there is an Umamusume, behind them stands a trainer. Usually a human, the two form a partnership to chase their dreams together. Often employed by a training school of some kind, Trainers are in charge of scouting Umamusume, building teams of racers, assisting them in developing their skills and strategies, required to to push them through the first three years of their careers. Some Umamusume will work with only one trainer through their lives while others will work with many different folks. Each relationship between a trainer and umamusume is unique.
