| Appearance | Buzz Lightyear | Buzz Lightyear is a brawny electronic spaceman action figure. He has fair skin, blue eyes, a purple head cap and collar, a clear plastic space helmet with purple buttons on both sides that open or close it. His green torso consists of a light blue sticker with the words "SPACE RANGER" and the Star Command symbol, purple straps connected to it, three oval talk buttons - one blue, one green, and one red, a yellow nametag that says "LIGHTYEAR" above a round red button that pops out purple plastic wings with red and white candy cane lining on the top of each, and green ends with red and green flashing lights. On his back, he has a white jetpack with a purple valve and green triangular accents and two black and yellow stickers - one says, "DANGER", and the other says "JET EXHAUST". His white arms have gray circular elbows and matching spheres on the end of his upper arms with black rings on it. His gloves have purple lines on his knuckles and fingertips and green squares on the back of each. His right arm has a red button on his upper arm with a yellow and black striped sticker that reads "LASER" and a red light on his right wrist. His left arm has a Space Ranger symbol sticker on his upper arm and a communicator sticker in his wrist communicator and "MADE IN TAIWAN" engraved inside on his lid of the wrist communicator. A black bending with a thin green waist. His white spaceman pants have matching collars at the bottom and gray spheres behind his knees and holds his white shoes with green toe accents, purple soles and a black handwriting reading "ANDY" on his right shoe sole. Although Buzz cannot fly on his own, he can glide using his wings if given sufficient upward lifting force. This is seen in the first Toy Story, when Buzz flies using Sid's rocket, as well as in Toy Story 4 when Buzz jumps on an amusement park ride during his search for Woody.

| Personality | Buzz Lightyear | Buzz, like many characters in Toy Story, is a complicated one, who feels genuine emotions such as pride, anger, depression, and sadness, much like a regular human. These are traits which he shares with his best friend, Woody, however, one would say that Buzz is better at keeping his emotions in check than the cowboy. Buzz is known for his bravery and courage with a by the book mindset, believing the way people should live their life by the following rules; though there are rare moments when he will bend the rules or tell a cover story if needed to when he knows it is the right thing to do. Though possessing great leadership qualities, one of Buzz's biggest character flaws at times is that he can rather unemotional. Like Woody, Buzz also goes through an evolution throughout the series. In Toy Story, he was incredibly deluded and actually believed that he himself was the real Buzz Lightyear and not a toy modeled off from the character. Because of this, Buzz believed he could do everything that a real space ranger was able to do such as fly and that his "laser" was a deadly weapon when it was actually just a light bulb. Since seeing the truth of his delusion, Buzz has a shown a degree of embarrassment of it. In Toy Story 2, while being attacked by another Buzz Lightyear action figure who also thought he was real, Buzz remarked in a self-conscious and annoyed tone: "tell me I wasn't this deluded." Buzz can come off as being charismatic and charming, most of Andy's toys completely adored him just after he was unwrapped. Even, Andy, whose favorite toy was Sheriff Woody and was completely obsessed with cowboys since kindergarten, went head over heels for Buzz who instantly became his other favorite toy. Buzz also possessed something of a vengeful side, such as attacking Woody when he tried to "terminate" him which was justified by saying "revenge is not something we enforce on my planet. But we're not on my planet, are we?" He is a little bit irrational at times such as attempting to save another toy from being blown up by the neighborhood juvenile delinquent Sid, despite not realizing that he would be destroyed as well but it also shows that he is quite brave as he was willing to rescue a defenseless person even if the odds were stacked against him. However, his personality changed completely, especially after discovering the truth about himself. At first, he went into a state of manic depression, thinking that he himself was nothing more than "a stupid, plain, insignificant toy", and also developed a bit of a suicidal side. Such moments were when Sid's "cannibal" toys were amassing around him he didn't even look fazed by this. Even when being strapped to an explosive rocket, he didn't seem to remotely care that he might die as he was that depressed. But after being given a motivational speech by a captive Woody, he begins to understand his role as a toy; to bring happiness and joy to their owner. After this, Buzz learns a lot more about honor, friendship, bravery, and selflessness. He is usually seen without his helmet as of Toy Story 2 because he knows he's not a real space ranger and toys don't need space helmets. By Toy Story 2, Buzz has completely accepted himself as a toy. Woody is one of his closest friends and understands him better than anyone other than the latter's girlfriend, Bo Peep. Buzz is also slightly clueless to human cultures, such as the case while he was trying to comfort Woody about cowboy camp and accidentally pronounces s'mores as "schmoes" which is corrected by the latter. This was also shown during the first one while looking at Sid, he mistook his pet dog, Scud, for him.

| Appearance | Woody | Woody is a slender man who is portrayed as a scrawny and old-fashioned 1950s pull-string cowboy ragdoll which he is physically made out of vintage fabrics along with paint and plastic. Woody has a fair-skinned head made from plastic with brown eyes, rosy cheeks, thin brown eyebrows, and brown hand-painted hair. Woody wears a brown hand-stitched polyvinyl plastic cowboy hat with a triangle-shaped brim and a lineup of dark brown wires laced at the edges. By Toy Story 5, similar to Buzz's state, as a result of over 50 years of adventuring and being played with, Woody has shown some age and subtle wear, which most importantly being that the paint around the crown area of Woody's head has rubbed off, giving the appearance of a balding head. His cowboy outfit consists of a yellow long-sleeved shirt with a red grid checkered pattern, a couple of white buttons vertically on his chest, suggesting that Woody's shirt is button-down, and each matching cufflink on both his cuffs. He also wears a white vest with black cow spots all over, and a red bandana. Woody wears a pair of blue denim jeans, a brown plastic belt hooked in the belt loops of the jeans with a gold plastic buckle that has a bull design on it. On the side of his belt is a brown plastic gun holster that has a gold brooch with a red center on it. He wears a pair of brown plastic cowboy boots with both each couple outlined cacti on both sides, gold plastic spurs attached at the back from both sides of his boots, and a black partially smudged handwriting reading "ANDY". Woody also wears a gold plastic star-shaped badge with small spheres on each tip and the word "SHERIFF" on the center and a long, thin pull string on his back with a white loop attached to it that activates his voice box when pulled

| Personality | Woody | Woody is a loyal toy who has been Andy's favorite toy since kindergarten. Woody is a smart, determined, and passionate man, and would do anything for his nearest and dearest friends. He considers his friends as family and he tries his best to keep them together at all times. Yet, he is also a flawed character. He has a lot of doubt, anger, frustration, uncertainty, and sadness, almost like a human. But despite his jumbled emotions, he tries his very best not to show them to his friends, so he can seem brave and courageous, but he's not afraid to confront or comfort his friends with utmost care. Interestingly, Woody is arguably the most tactical and developed character in the series, since the plots and ploys that the main characters pull to achieve their own endeavors are more or less formulated by him. This indicates that he is smarter than he, himself acknowledges. His character has developed very much since the first movie. In Toy Story, when he first meets Buzz, he's very intimidated by the space ranger's more modern appearance compared to his rag-doll appearance. Soon his jealousy begins to manifest him, he plans to hide Buzz from Andy so that he can be remembered. Yet when things go awry and Buzz is thrown out the window and into a bush, Woody learns to think twice about his little schemes. His adventurous spirit is not intact in the first film as well, as he's a more wimpy compared to future installments. When he runs into Sid's mismatched and deformed toys, Woody is instantly frightened by them and comes to this false accusation that they want to eat him and Buzz. Throughout the film, Woody begins to develop a more courageous personality. In Toy Story 2, his personality begins to upgrade, even more, learning to understand other people's rejections. When he meets Jessie, they instantly become close but get into a heated argument when Woody is determined to get home to Andy. Jessie accuses Woody of abandoning them and he instantly protests. Yet soon, he has a change of heart when he learns about the hardships Jessie had been through after her owner Emily grew up and realizes that Andy is growing up too and becomes afraid of what will happen. When Buzz and the gang arrive to save Woody, Woody stubbornly refuses to leave with them, saying that Andy will be done with him when he grows up. Buzz accepts Woody's fate but confronts him saying being admired from afar by millions of kids doesn't compare to being loved by just one kid. Realizing his error, Woody comes back to his senses and makes a promise to himself that he'll be there for Andy until the very end.

| Personality | Jessie | Jessie is a friendly, sarcastic, and excitable cowgirl doll. She likes being loved by any child and has the power to yodel. She hates being in storage ― as it makes her claustrophobic ― and not having someone to love her. A girl named Emily had once loved her until she gave her up and put her in a charity box, which emotionally scarred her forever. Because of this, she was eventually found by Al, and believed her true purpose was to become a permanent item at a museum in Tokyo, Japan. However, after Stinky Pete's betrayal and being saved by Woody, she accepted her true purpose, which was to be played with and to be there for her child. Because of her abandonment issues and being in storage for many years, Jessie is severely claustrophobic and hates the idea of being in a box.

| Physical appearance | Jessie | Jessie is portrayed as a scrawny and old-fashioned 1950s pull-string rag-doll who is meant to depict that of a blunt, boisterous and rather jocose redhead cowgirl who has a knack for yodeling and thrives off thrill of nearly any sort. Physically, she is presumed to be built off of a variety of western styled vintage fabrics, such as yarn, stuffing, rags, paint, and plastic. Owning that of a lanky, slender and somewhat sinewy figure composed of stuffing and rags, yet having a head made off of plastic and paint, and then finally a threaded set of stitched felt yarn for her hair. Jessie has a fair-skinned and rosy-cheeked face with Kelly green eyes that are quite wide and circular, pink lips, having bright barn red yarn woven into a plait which goes down her shoulders and hangs loose about her mid-back with a sunny yellow ribbon worn near the end of it to 'keep' her plait in place. Perched atop her head is her trademarked cowgirls headwear, that is a wide-brimmed Western 'Gamblers' Cowgirl Hat made of felted-plastic hand-stitched polyvinyl and is neon crimson in color. It has a white striped-band lined at the crown, followed with a lineup of off-white wires seen laced at the edges, a design pattern which is mirrored within her ensemble except in red. Jessie's trademark cowgirl uniform consists of a collared off-white cowgirl top with long-sleeves. The front of her tops' yoke being colored a bright yellow, matched with a pair of large fringed cuffs kept at the ends of the sleeves. Two particularly big buttons run down her front, suggesting that Jessie's top is meant to be a collared button-down, alongside two matching white buttons which are fitted against the sides of the sleeve-cuffs. For bottom-wear, Jessie dons a pair of fitting high-waisted denims with a brown plastic cowgirl belt hooked in the belt-loops with a buckle that has a bull design on it made of gold plastic. Layered upon the front side of her pants is a pair of white bell-bottom cowgirl chaps which have black blotches patterned on them akin to a cows fur, followed by five fringes lined down the sides of each chap flap. And in terms of footwear, she sports a pair of traditional brown cowgirl boots that have gold dummy spurs, with the right sole having 'ANDY' written on it, now having gotten smudged with age. And finally, a long, thin pull-string dangles at her back with a plastic white ring attached to it, which is a trigger that activates her voice box.

| Personality | Rex Ironically, despite being portrayed as a ferocious Tyrannosaurus Rex, Rex is gentle, kind, caring, and hates any kind of argument or confrontation. He also lacks some intelligence and is extremely trusting and carefree. His greatest fear is that he will be replaced or abandoned, but he is usually enthusiastic about anything and everything. With his childlike demeanor and lack of self-confidence, Rex is the most innocent of all the toys, and shows the greatest desire to be loved and played with. He also has a fear of other dinosaurs, but this is eventually overcome.

| Physical appearance | Rex The body is primarily green, with variations of lighter and darker green. The belly is a lighter shade, almost beige-green. The skin has a texture that mimics dinosaur scales, with small bumps across the body. Large, rounded head. Small, expressive eyes with black pupils. Small eyebrows that give a somewhat curious or friendly expression. Wide mouth with several visible rounded white teeth, forming a smile. The arms are quite small compared to the body, with two or three short claws. The legs are large and strong, supporting the toy's robust body. Wide feet with three toes and small claws. The tail is long and thick, tapering at the tip, helping to balance the body. A junction line is visible on the neck; the head can rotate, something common in articulated toys.

| Physical appearance | Mr potato head Large, round eyes with black pupils and a wide-open expression, giving an animated or surprised look. Thick, black eyebrows, arched above the eyes. Large, orange nose, well-rounded and prominent in the center of the face. Black mustache, wide and curved downwards, just above the mouth. Open mouth with red lips. Pink ears, one on each side of the head. Potato-shaped body with a smooth, light brown surface. It has several interlocking pieces that form the face and body. It wears a rounded black hat on top of its head. It has thin, white arms ending in white, cartoon-like gloves. On the bottom, it wears large blue shoes. And its entire body is made of plastic.

| Personality | Mr potato head Mr. Potato Head is a rather cynical Mr. Potato Head doll, of the common design of Playskool. Andy often casted him as a villain in his games, which seems to be the reason for his cynical and irritable behavior. Even though he is sarcastic, cynical, rude (mostly to Woody at first), and has an acerbic point of view, he has a good heart deep down, he loves his wife Mrs. Potato Head, and is prepared to go to limitless lengths to save his friends. In the second film, when Woody was kidnapped, he showed some shock and later showed some sadness when Woody refused to go back home. Mr. Potato Head appears to be partners with Hamm as they are seen high-fiving each other whenever something exciting or victorious happens.Despite having more of an attitude in Toy Story, he becomes much more amicable after the arrival of Mrs. Potato Head. Despite his grumpy behavior, Mr. Potato Head can sometimes be fun-loving with a genuine sense of humor.

| Personality | slinky Slinky is a nice, friendly, and playful dog. He is quite well-behaved compared with some of Andy's other toys. He shows faith in Woody (sometimes acting like his pet) and he will do anything to help his friend out, including Buzz Lightyear. He is friends with all of Andy's toys, has a sense of humor, and enjoys playing checkers with Woody. Slinky has been one of Woody's closest and loyalest friends. He only rarely shows signs of dismay towards Woody, such as when Woody was playing with Buzz's broken arm in the first Toy Story, and when Woody decides to join the Roundup Gang in going to Japan in Toy Story 2. The former instance leads to Slinky being thrilled to learn that Buzz is with Woody and RC, and guilty along with the other toys for throwing Woody out of the moving truck. As such, Slinky atones by attempting to get them into the moving truck. He also states that he felt like he could've held onto Woody longer than he did, despite being stretched to his limit. Then in Toy Story 2, he is relieved to learn to hear Woody changing his mind about going to Japan. Slinky is a nice, friendly, and playful dog.

| Physical appearance | Slinky He is a toy dog with a very stylish and fun design. His body is divided into two parts (front and back) connected by a silver metal spring, similar to a "slinky" toy spring. His head is orange, with a rounded shape. He has large, round eyes with a cheerful and friendly expression. His nose is small and black, at the tip of his snout. He has long, drooping ears, dark brown in color, hanging down the sides of his head. The front part of his body is orange, with a green collar around his neck. The middle of his body is the silver spring, which allows him to stretch. The back part is also orange, connected to the spring. He has four short brown legs with light yellow paws. His tail is a thin, raised spring with a small red tip.
