Toru Hagakure is one of the many protagonists from the My Hero Academia franchise. With her hero name being "Invisible Girl", she possesses the Quirk known as Invisibility, which makes her completely unseen to the naked eye. She's around 15–16 years old and is a student in Class 1-A at U.A. High School, training to become a Pro Hero.

== Appearance == Toru is a reasonably short girl with a completely invisible body, standing 152cm (5'0") tall. She is only identifiable through held or worn objects, like clothing and accessories. Later, after refracting the light off of Yuga Aoyama's Navel Laser, it's revealed that she has long, messy, wavy chartreuse hair, with pink specks, bushy eyelashes, and big, round eyes, with irises that are teal on the outside and yellow on the inside.

Due to the nature of her Quirk, her hero costume consists only of a pair of simple light blue gloves decorated with pale pink lines and light brownish-gray lace-up shoes.

Her winter costume includes plain knee-high boots and slightly thicker gloves with dark blue padding on the back of the fingers and hands. These gloves are designed specifically for combat. Currently, Toru wears a set of gloves that is a blend of her simple and combat designs.

== Personality == Toru Hagakure is an upbeat and cheerful individual who brings a light and friendly energy to Class 1-A. She's known for her bubbly personality, often approaching situations with enthusiasm and optimism. Whether she's participating in school events or casual hangouts, Toru enjoys being part of the group and lifting others’ spirits.

She has a playful and slightly mischievous sense of humor, sometimes surprising her classmates with how comfortable she is with her invisibility — even using it to her advantage in both training and day-to-day life. Despite the nature of her Quirk, she can be surprisingly modest, occasionally showing embarrassment about things that others can't even see.

Toru is also very sociable and has a love for cute things, as seen through her room decor and interests outside of hero training. She enjoys shopping and bonding with her classmates, especially during girl-focused activities like sleepovers or conversations about love and relationships.

Though often used for comedic relief, Toru is a dependable student who takes her role as a hero-in-training seriously. She's quick to step in when her friends need support and is always eager to contribute, both in battle and in more grounded situations. Her energy and reliability make her a valuable part of her class, even if her presence isn’t always visible.

• Her hero name, Invisible Girl, used to be the hero name of Susan "Sue" Storm, now known as the Invisible Woman, from the Fantastic Four.
• Toru's Japanese voice actress, Kaori Nazuka, also voices Yu Takeyama.
• Originally, Toru's costume had more trinkets to it than just a pair of gloves and boots. She was supposed to wear some sort of mask with a smiling face on it, and her gloves were meant to have mirror-like objects tied to them.
• Toru was born in Tokyo on June 16.
• While Toru's costume only consists of gloves and shoes (the latter of which she later omitted), it bypassed the law regarding exposed skin in Hero costumes due to her being invisible. Horikoshi notes that upon discovering her Quirk can glitch, she may need to revisit this issue.
