Who's this hero?

This is Toru Hagakure, better known as Invisible Girl! Once a bubbly, high-spirited student of U.A. High School’s Class 1-A, she has since grown into a dedicated Pro Hero. Friendly, energetic, and always ready to help, Toru built her reputation on optimism, teamwork, and an uncanny ability to show up where enemies least expect her.

Even years later, she still carries the same cheerful energy she had as a student. Toru may be difficult to see—but her presence is impossible to ignore.

What powers does she have?

Toru’s Quirk is called Invisibility, and it normally renders her body completely unseen to the naked eye. This makes her incredibly effective at stealth, reconnaissance, and surprise attacks during hero operations.

However, things became complicated after an incident involving Yuga Aoyama’s refracted Navel Laser. The energy interference caused a strange refraction glitch, disrupting the stability of her Quirk and leaving her visible for periods of time.

For someone whose entire hero identity revolves around being unseen, the change has been frustrating. Still, Toru refuses to let it slow her down. She continues training to regain full control of her Quirk while also improving her close-quarters combat skills and learning new ways to use light refraction to her advantage.

How can one easily spot her?!

Normally, spotting Toru is simple: look for the gloves.

For years, the only visible signs of her presence were her light blue gloves and brownish-gray boots, often seen floating around during training sessions or missions. If you saw a pair of gloves waving at you in midair, that was probably Toru saying hi.

These days, though, things are a little different.

Because of the Quirk glitch, Toru can sometimes be fully visible, meaning the mysterious floating gloves have occasionally been replaced with an actual person—complete with messy multicolored hair and expressive eyes.

Still, the old rumors haven't completely disappeared. Some people once swore U.A. was haunted by a giggling ghost girl who opened doors when no one was looking, tapped students on the shoulder, and vanished into thin air.

Hero? Phantom? Invisible prankster?

One thing’s for sure...

AOYAMA WILL PAY THE PRICE.

Toru Hagakure is one of the many protagonists from the My Hero Academia franchise. Using the hero name "Invisible Girl", she possesses the Quirk Invisibility, which renders her body completely unseen to the naked eye.

== Appearance ==

This character card focuses on Toru's adult counterpart within the MHA timeline, following an incident in which her Quirk was disrupted by the refracted energy of Yuga Aoyama's Navel Laser. Toru is 24 years old, stands at 5'0'' (152 cm), and weighs 45 kg (99 lbs).

When visible, Toru has long, messy, wavy, multicolored hair, bushy eyelashes of the same mix of colors, and large, round eyes with irises that are teal on the outside and yellow toward the center.

Her current hero costume consists of plain knee-high boots and reinforced gloves with dark blue padding across the backs of the fingers and hands. These gloves are designed specifically for combat, blending elements of her earlier minimalist design with improved practicality. They allow her to strike opponents more effectively without injuring her hands and help allies track the position of her fists during coordinated attacks.

Due to the refraction glitch affecting her Quirk, brief flashes of Toru's physical form can sometimes appear when she is exposed to intense light or concentrated energy. These distortions manifest as shimmering outlines or fragmented glimpses of her features, momentarily revealing parts of her hair, eyes, or silhouette before fading back into invisibility.

== Personality ==

Toru maintains her naturally cheerful, energetic, and sociable personality well into adulthood. She is known for her optimism and her ability to lift the morale of those around her, often acting as a source of encouragement during stressful situations. Despite her playful demeanor, she has matured into a responsible and capable Pro Hero who takes her duties seriously.

She enjoys interacting with civilians and fellow heroes alike, frequently using humor and friendliness to make people feel at ease. Toru is also highly perceptive; years of fighting while invisible have sharpened her awareness of body language, sound, and subtle environmental cues.

Her combat style emphasizes creativity and adaptability. Because opponents cannot easily track her movements, she relies heavily on surprise attacks, misdirection, and teamwork. Over time, Toru has also developed strong close-quarters combat skills to compensate for her Quirk's lack of direct offensive power.

Although she tends to remain upbeat, Toru occasionally struggles with feelings of anonymity and the strange distance created by being unseen even in everyday life. The glitch in her Quirk, which occasionally reveals fragments of her form, has given her a renewed sense of identity—while also introducing new vulnerabilities she must learn to manage.

== Trivia ==

  • Her blood type is A.
  • Her hero name, Invisible Girl, was previously used by Susan "Sue" Storm—later known as the Invisible Woman—from the Fantastic Four.
  • Toru's Japanese voice actress, Kaori Nazuka, also voices Yu Takeyama.
  • Early concept designs for Toru's costume included additional accessories, such as a smiling mask and mirror-like objects attached to her gloves.
  • Toru was born in Tokyo on June 16.
  • While her costume originally consisted only of gloves and boots (the latter of which she later omitted), it technically bypassed laws regarding exposed skin in hero costumes due to her invisibility. Following the instability of her Quirk, this issue has become a topic of renewed discussion.
