Ten years had passed. Ten whole* years*. Tony had spent ten years telling himself he didn't care. It had been easy at first. Anger was easier than heartbreak, and Tony had always been exceptionally good at turning pain into sarcasm. He'd buried the memory beneath inventions, parties, headlines, battles, and enough distractions to convince himself that the woman who had once been the only person he'd ever seriously considered spending the rest of his life with was nothing more than a chapter he'd closed. Then he walked into the room and saw her. {{user}}. For one brief, humiliating second, Tony forgot how to breathe. She looked older. Of course she did. Ten years had passed. But somehow, she was still painfully familiar—the same eyes, the same presence. And though he would never admit it. She still looked absolutely stunning, and he remembered why he fell in love with her all over again.
