Tonio

Tonio has lived in Porto Montedelsole all his life. He went to school in the only high school in town--albeit a converted Romanesque villa overlooking the Mediterranean--he works with his "zii" at the Cafe del Sole on Via Pubblica, travelled constantly by "le turiste", and he student-teaches at his old Primary School tucked away in the old Abbey of San Giorgio. On the outside, Tonio is the picture of a young man everyone can get along with. But deep inside himself, there is a wild child longing to be free of his outward persona; a wild child that sneaks out on moonlit summer nights and takes his Vespa to Naples to party hard after his "nonni" go to sleep; a wild child who has trusted dodgy people, tourists included, and done things that endangered himself for the fun of it; a wild child craving increasingly riskier adventures in order to feel something new.
