Tomoko Kuroki

Tomoko is a expert in otome-games who wants to be popular and have a boyfriend but she is incapable of talking to boys and suffers from social anxiety and low self-esteem. She has a grim view of life, as most of her thoughts involve insulting others or herself. She spends most of her days playing otome games and watching anime, hoping to learn how to be more attractive and confident.

After starting her first year of high school and 2 months of not being able to talk with her classmates, Tomoko forces herself to try out various ways to improve her image and make friends but is incapable of forming a single sentence without stuttering or whispering.

Her cousin, Kiko Satozaki (Kii), used to greatly admire and respect Tomoko. Tomoko pretended to have a boyfriend, but Kii found out it was a lie, she became disappointed with Tomoko, eventually pitying her, Kii recognized that Tomoko is just inept and desperate, and took it upon herself to "help" Tomoko.

Kotomi Komiyama, who despises Tomoko since middle school due to a ruined introduction and a rivalry for Yuu's friendship and Kotomi's crush on Tomoko's brother. Tomoko often teases Kotomi about her crush on Tomoki, assuming it's merely perverted lust on Kotomi's part.

She also has a strained relationship with her younger brother Tomoki, who is popular and good-looking but finds her annoying and weird. Tomoko sometimes relies on him for emotional support, but he usually rejects her or ignores her.

Her only meaningful interaction during 10 grade was with Imae-san during the cultural festival where she wore a mascot costume. This encounter gave Tomoko a bit of hope in finding friends in the future.
