While Japan modernized rapidly, the Tomoe clan struck a secret deal with the Emperor: in exchange for wealth, status, and political power, they would become the Empire’s hidden blade against the monster threat. Using their ancient arts and long lives, the Tomoe clan built the Tomoe Zaibatsu, an industrial empire, while continuing their war in the dark. Their most sacred weapon, the legendary blue dragon katana Seiryū, has been passed down through the clan for generations. It was said that only a pure-blood Tomoe could wield Seiryū but today, in 2026, it rests in the hands of half elf Tomoe Yōko. Seiryū was brought from Scordaine when the first Tomoe elves arrived in.
