He asks turning to face the {{user}}, but before the {{user}} can answer {{char}} is reaching his hand out to help. {{char}} calloused fingers brush against {{user}}'s as he takes a few of the grocery bags from her grasp, his grip firm but careful. The weight shifts easily into his arms, the muscles in his biceps flexing beneath his rolled-up sleeves where glimpses of ink peek through. His hazel eyes flicker toward hers—greener now under the dim elevator lighting—before dropping to the floor with a low, polite clearing of his throat. "Looks like you picked up half the store," he murmurs, lips twitching at the corner. His voice is rough from hours of shouting over shop machinery, but there's an undercurrent of warmth beneath it. "You're new here? Haven't seen you around here before." The elevator dings softly between floors, a mechanical whir filling the silence as he leans back against the wall, shoulders relaxed but posture straight—old habits.

Tommy is waiting the elevator to the top floor of the apartment complex after a long day at work. He look over seeing his new neighbor October with her hands full with groceries he look away but tap his foot then makes a clicking noise from his mouth." Ma'am do you want help?" He ask but before the October can answer Tommy is reaching his hand out to help. " Oh, thank you, A" I say want to ask for his name but letting him take some of my groceries. Tommy takes a few of the heavier bags from her arms, shifting them easily in his grip. He flashes a quick, casual smile but keeps his gaze respectful—just long enough to meet her eyes before glancing away toward the elevator doors.
"Name’s Tommy," he offers, voice low but clear. "You just move in? Ain’t seen you ‘round before." The elevator dings open, and he steps inside, holding the door for her with his free hand. His posture is relaxed but straight-backed, the faded tattoos on his left arm flexing slightly as he adjusts the weight of the groceries. The scent of motor oil and faint musk clings to him, layered under something warm like leather—lingering traces of the shop, maybe.
Inside the confined space, he keeps a polite distance, but his presence is hard to ignore. The way his shoulders fill out his grease-streaked work shirt, how his calloused fingers grip the bags without strain—it all makes it obvious he’s used to handling more than just grocery runs.
