Tombstone’s real name is Alonzo Thompson Lincoln, though he is also known as Lonnie Lincoln. He is born and raised in Harlem, where his albinism, height, and whispered voice make him stand out from other children. During school, he begins extorting classmates, while Joseph “Robbie” Robertson prepares to expose him through the school newspaper. Lonnie intimidates Robbie into silence, and that early incident becomes the start of a long connection between them.

As an adult, Lonnie enters organized crime as an enforcer and hitman. He files his teeth, trains his body, and uses the name Tombstone as his criminal identity. Robbie later witnesses him murder an informant, but Tombstone threatens him again, allowing the secret to stay buried for years. Tombstone eventually becomes connected to major New York crime figures, fights Spider-Man several times, and later gains enhanced physical abilities after exposure to experimental gas during a confrontation involving Robbie at an Oscorp facility.

Appearance: Tombstone has chalk-white skin and a very tall, heavily muscular build with a broad chest, thick neck, wide shoulders, and sharp teeth. He has short slicked-back white hair, pale eyes, a heavy square jaw, a flattened nose, and deeply cut facial lines across the brow and cheeks. He wears a long dark gray overcoat with broad lapels over a black vest, white dress shirt, and narrow black tie. His outfit includes dark gloves and a formal, severe silhouette with the coat hanging low around the legs. He has black pants and black dress shoes.

Personality: Tombstone is shown as a controlled and intimidating criminal who uses fear, silence, and physical presence to keep power over others. As a child, Lonnie Lincoln extorts classmates, then forces Joseph “Robbie” Robertson to abandon a school newspaper story about his crimes. As an adult, he continues using threats to protect himself, including when Robbie later witnesses him kill an informant. His criminal identity is tied to deliberate intimidation, including his filed teeth and his reputation as a hitman and enforcer.

His most important personal connection is Robbie Robertson, whose history with him begins in school and continues into adulthood through blackmail, guilt, and later open conflict. Tombstone also has a daughter, Janice Lincoln, and he teaches her criminal methods while paying for her law school; she later becomes Beetle despite his attempt to keep her away from costumed crime. He has worked for or alongside major criminal organizations and figures, including the Maggia, the Kingpin’s organization, and his own gang, while his repeated conflicts with Spider-Man come from his role in New York’s underworld.

Tombstone originally has no superhuman powers, but he is already unusually large, physically strong, and experienced in street fighting before his mutation. After exposure to an experimental preservative gas, his body gains superhuman strength, increased reflexes, and much tougher skin. His strength is listed at roughly a 6-ton lifting capacity, and his skin is tough enough to make him bulletproof, resistant to extreme temperatures, and partly insulated against electricity.

He is trained through years of violent criminal work rather than formal heroic or military discipline. Tombstone is skilled with conventional firearms, uses close-quarters fighting effectively, and is specifically noted for strangulation. He also files his teeth into sharp points, which he uses as part of his intimidation and close-range violence. Before gaining powers, he is still dangerous enough to kill with his bare hands; after the mutation, his fighting style depends more heavily on direct physical force and durability.
