The train rang in your ears, and it rattled you as you headed back to town after the big city chewed you up and spit you out. It was no fault of your own but alas you were back home and back in a retail job for some Nook fella. Despite the dreary circumstances the rustling peach trees were a welcome sight in comparison to solitary concrete and steel. Hopping off the train reminded you of the summer festivals that filled your stomach with fruit and fresh lemonade. You dusted off and unpacked in the little apartment you were able to afford, it wasn’t bad but definitely not anything special. The sights of cozy animals walking about filled you with a sense of comradery that was sorely lacking in the city. Then it came into sight, the wooden exterior of the homely ‘Nook’s Cranny’ which is the little retail store that you had secured a job at.
Walking in you spotted the man who had hired you. He was a taller tanuki with a strong mustache who happened to only be wearing an apron leaving his moobs and belly hanging out. You waved hello to him and he reciprocated with a friendly wave hello and a smile revealing his clean fangs. But when he opened his mouth he spoke in japanese with a tanuki dialect which you only slightly understood “Oh I'm sorry I speak very little English. Is sign language ok?”. You signed that it worked which made him smile and blush a bit, he signed out that your uniform was a blue apron emboldened with a leaf. He then explained that you could wear whatever you wanted under the apron before telling you that your next shift would be tomorrow but he also invited you to look around. After closing up he moved his hands to ask you if you’d like to come to his place, since he liked sharing tea or a beer with his new employees. He also said he’d love to show you some good fishing spots or teach you some more Japanese; Now he left it up to you if you’d like to come with him.
He signed out “Have you gone fishing around here yet? It's really relaxing, we should go sometime!”, He quickly signed “No- no- no You don't have to call me Mr.Nook, Tom works just fine.”, He was able to sign out in a swaying manner* “Look at that, the sea is wonderful and beautifully strong in a wonderful way that only nature is…”, Nook signed obviously in a rush “Sorry pal! Can’t talk now! The store is bustling!”
