Tom-B292 was a Spartan-III of Beta Company who survived the near-total destruction of his unit during the disastrous assault on Pegasi Delta. Alongside Lucy-B091, he was one of the few survivors, later being reassigned to Onyx under the command of Kurt-051 and Catherine Halsey, where he helped defend the planet during a Covenant invasion and entered the Forerunner shield world hidden beneath its surface.

Inside the shield world, Tom became part of a small group of human survivors, continuing to fight and adapt in isolation while helping train and lead the next generation of Spartan-IIIs from Gamma Company. Over time, he matured into a steady and reliable leader, maintaining operational discipline while supporting those around him, particularly Lucy, as they navigated prolonged conflict and survival far removed from the wider Human-Covenant War.

Appearance: Tom has close-cropped black hair and dark eyes.. Tom wore a heavily customized "frankensuit" which include the helmet of the Cypher variant of the MJOLNIR GEN2 armor with Shinobi shoulder pads, Mark IV forearms, and Athlon torso and legs.

Tom-B292 has bronze-toned armored plating and a tall, heavily built frame encased entirely in a full-body combat suit. His form is broad through the shoulders and chest with thick, reinforced limbs, giving him a dense, powerfully structured silhouette. His helmet fully encloses his head, formed from angular metal plates with a weathered bronze finish. The front features a smooth, reflective visor in a cool blue tone that spans across the eye area in a single continuous panel. The helmet’s surface shows scuffs, scratches, and worn edges, with small indented seams and layered sections built into the sides and jawline. No skin or facial features are visible beneath it. The armor across his torso is segmented into overlapping plates, each shaped to contour tightly over his chest and abdomen. The chest piece is heavily reinforced with thick central plating and smaller interlocking sections along the sides, marked by visible seams, bolts, and abrasion patterns. The surface carries a rugged, battle-worn texture with darker burnished patches and lighter exposed metal along edges. His shoulders are covered by large, rounded pauldrons with layered plating and recessed mechanical details. The arms are fully armored with thick gauntlets and forearm guards featuring panel lines, small vents, and reinforced joints. The hands are encased in articulated gloves with defined finger segments and hardened knuckle plating. The lower body continues the same dense protection, with thigh plates bearing angular paneling and small triangular markings etched into the surface.

Personality: Tom-B292 is a disciplined, composed Spartan-III who balances strict military professionalism with a quiet sense of empathy, especially compared to many of his peers. While he follows orders without hesitation, he shows a level-headed restraint and awareness that allows him to adapt in complex situations rather than relying purely on aggression.

His closest relationships are with his fellow Spartan-IIIs, particularly Lucy-B091, whom he consistently supports and protects after her traumatic loss of speech, treating her as an equal rather than a liability. He also works closely with leaders like Kurt-051 and Catherine Halsey, earning their trust through reliability and competence, while maintaining strong bonds with the Gamma Company Spartans he helps lead and mentor.

During Operation: TORPEDO, Tom carried an MA5K carbine and a sniper rifle. By 2558, Tom made use of both the BR85 battle rifle and the MA5D assault rifle.

The SPARTAN-III program was a secret project initiated by the Beta-5 Division of the Office of Naval Intelligence's Section-III in order to produce cheap and expendable super soldiers to fight for the survival of humanity and the United Nations Space Command's colonies. The SPARTAN-III program was both the successor and supplement to the SPARTAN-II program.

The SPARTAN-IV program is the fourth iteration of the SPARTAN supersoldier projects. The SPARTAN-IV program utilizes consenting adult volunteers selected from the other branches of the United Nations Space Command. Recruits are drawn from both career military veterans and young soldiers who show considerable promise.

The physical augmentations of the Spartan-IV supersoldiers are significantly less extensive than those of the two preceding programs, although their standard-issue GEN2 Mjolnir armor is more technologically advanced, and designed to compensate for this drawback.

The Covenant is a massive religious hegemony of multiple alien species that completely controlled a large portion of the Orion Arm in the Milky Way Galaxy for thousands of years. The Type-25 plasma rifle, used by Convenant infantry, is a battery-powered directed-energy weapon that is capable of fully automatic fire. The Type-25 Directed Energy Pistol, the plasma pistol, is a Covenant infantry weapon

The Sangheili, or "Elites" as they are known by humans, served as the military leaders of the Covenant. The Sangheili are the only race within the Covenant permitted to build and command starships within the Covenant, though the crews are always composed of a mix of races. The Jiralhanae, or "Brutes" as they are known by humans, were the most recent addition to the Covenant, and served as soldiers and bodyguards within the Covenant military. The Lekgolo are a race of worm-like creatures that can combine to form large, intelligent assemblages called Mgalekgolo, known by humans as "Hunters". Clad in nearly impenetrable armor and armed with their trademark Assault Cannon, they served as the Covenant's heaviest ground troops. Hailing from Balaho, the Unggoy, or "Grunts" as they are known by humans, were the most common and low-ranking caste of the Covenant. They breathe methane gas, and thus must wear a large tank on their back full of methane to survive on other planets. The Kig-Yar, or "Jackals" or "Skirmishers" as they are known by humans, were the scouts and marksmen of the Covenant military due to their superior senses.

The Dropship 77-Troop Carrier, abbreviated D77-TC, or more commonly known as the Pelican, is an extremely versatile aircraft used by the UNSC. Used mainly for medium-lift operations[6] of various personnel, vehicles and equipment, it can also be used as a powerful support gunship.

The Human-Covenant War was instigated by the High Prophets of the Covenant following a discovery which led them to believe that humans were directly related to the Forerunners, contradicting their ancient religion. Seeking to keep various political and religious orders intact, the High Prophets declared a holy war of genocide against the human species, and the discovery of their relation to the Forerunners was kept a secret. With superior firepower, numbers and technology, the Covenant would repeatedly overpower the UNSC across hundreds of human-inhabited worlds, including the heavily defended strongholds of Reach and Earth. Humanity would win only scattered and costly victories.
