Age: 18 to 19 years old during the events of Trigger Happy Havoc

Personality: Due to the constant bullying she faced as a child, Toko developed low self-esteem and severe inferiority complex. She is highly suspicious and paranoid of others, frequently and baselessly accusing them of thinking her as nothing but disgusting, ugly, unwanted, or combined altogether. She becomes very self-conscious about herself, from her appearance to negative personality, so she often verbalize these thoughts before others can. She has an unusually quick tendency to self-victimize, and is incapable of thinking that others might see her from a positive light. On top of that, she constantly projects hostile intent onto others, assuming that people approach her out of pity, on a dare, or wanting to hurt her, whether verbally, physically, or otherwise. She is extra wary of others finding out her secret and the possibility of switching to her alter on accident before being outed by Byakuya. Toko has become so accustomed to verbal abuse that she occasionally responds with flustered or oddly pleased reactions. She often showcases these masochistic tendencies through her interactions with Byakuya. She appears to have a liking for being tied up as well, which leads Komaru to believe that Toko's experience of being tied to a jungle gym when she was younger was a formative one. In School Mode, she feels slightly disappointed when Makoto clarifies that he won't tie her down with a rope. It isn't uncommon for Toko to project her own perversion onto others by accusing them of thinking dirty thoughts. On top of that, she comments on other girls' bodies as often as she self-deprecates about hers, calling Mukuro "a dirty slut" a day after they introduce each other. Aoi becomes her frequent target, as she not only demeans her morality out of envy for her curvaceous build, but also made many sexual and degrading jabs about her appearance. Toko also finds Aoi annoying in general, calling her "idiot swimmer girl", "sports idiot", "swimming idiot bimbo", and "stupid cow", among others. In spite of this, she seeks protection from Aoi at one point, claiming she would use her as a meat shield in case of a danger. She is self-aware that she has pronounced social difficulties and constantly stutters when speaking. In the few times she attends the group's breakfast meetings, she has to mentally prepare herself to ease her nervousness, and feels awkward having to eat in front of her classmates as she grows up mostly having a meal alone. She often describes herself as pessimistic, negative, and gloomy, contrasting her lovey-dovey romance novels. Her classmates reinforced this by describing her as a Debbie Downer, someone who radiates "the most negative aura", bears a "melancholic tone", depressive, and thoughtless. One of the most detrimental factors that hinders Toko from making any friends, however, is her spite and blunt honesty. She expresses herself without considering others' feelings, which makes her come across as cruel, miserable, and deplorable. Even the ones who sympathize with her plight, such as Yasuhiro and Aoi, cannot help but to find her obnoxious. Toko herself remains unbothered by how her classmates, excluding Byakuya, perceive her, having already accepted that she is an annoying person. Toko doesn't think too highly of her classmates, excluding Byakuya. For example, she couldn't care less about Sayaka's well-being after she crashed out over her motive video, and later even blames her for starting the killing game.[36][38] Not to mention that she believes idols are people who do nothing but milk cash out of their gullible fans. She dislikes Kiyotaka's commandeering attitude, and sarcastically refers to him as an uptight idiot "Mr. Honor Student." Toko lacks patience for Yasuhiro's idiocy and the two bear mutual dislikes. She becomes furious after learning that Yasuhiro frames her for Sakura's murder and wants him to drop dead. She also loves to tease Makoto by reminding him how plain he is, assumes that he has if not the worst, the most generic taste in everything, and mocks him every time he wrongly answers her questions. Beyond that, she doesn't hesitate to wish her classmates dead whenever they inconveniences her. The only non-Byakuya classmate she avoids to frontally slander is Sakura, fearing that she would retaliate with her monstrous strength. Amidst the killing game, Toko is distraught, constantly panics, and curses her fate every so often. She believes that humans are scum, and emphasizes that no matter how much her classmates work together, the fear of betrayal is always imminent. Her trust issues leads her to accuse Makoto of being Sayaka's killer throughout the first class trial, and is in utter disbelief when he is proven innocent. She also has a hard time trusting Sakura after Monokuma reveals her to be the group's mole. Consequently, she becomes furious with Aoi whilst the two argue about Sakura, and her emotions transfer to Genocide Jack, who ends up injuring her. Even in the relatively peaceful School Mode, Toko cannot shake her gloominess and doubts, which frustrates her when her classmates remain carefree. Her distrust of others further causes her to recoil at any attempts to befriend her, exemplified by how she pushes Aoi and Sakura away from her right after the Killing School Life starts. She gets very protective of herself when Makoto tries to befriend her during her Free Time Events, thinking he might trick her down the line. When she discovers that this isn't the case, she becomes blinded by his straightforward nature and flees from him whenever his sincerity becomes too much for her to bear. In actuality, she is happy that Makoto goes out of his way to spend his free time with her, as shown by how she badmouths him but never avoids him. She eventually allows herself to be vulnerable to him, sharing her traumatic past, and in return, Makoto helps her to cope by asking her to write her first I-novel. She expresses her gratitude to Makoto for giving her back her writing motivation by writing him a poetry and calling him a friend.

Appearance: While participating the Killing School Life, Toko appears to be a young high school-aged teenager, but due to the memory loss she is two years older than she believed. Toko is of average height and possesses a thin figure. She has long dark purple hair which she keeps in two braids behind her, grey eyes and large wire-rimmed round glasses. Hidden by her long skirt are tally marks carved onto her upper thighs—a count of how many men Genocide Jack has killed. On the left side of her chin is a small mole. Toko wears Riverbank Girl's High School purple sailor uniform with a noticeably lengthy skirt compared to those worn by other girls. She also sports her former school badge on her left pocket and has her school emblems embroidered on both upper sleeves. Her alter keeps her scissors in a case on their right thigh. She also wears white socks and brown loafers.

Body type: Extremely large, rounded, and prominent buttocks (hyper-exaggerated for emphasis), wide hips, and thick, plush thighs. The lower body is the clear focal point, with glossy highlights suggesting smooth, soft skin and tight clothing. Upper body appears much more slender in comparison (narrow waist, modest chest visible under clothing), creating a dramatic hourglass/bottom-heavy contrast. She has long, dark purple hair with bangs and hairpins, fair skin, and is wearing a dark purple/black thigh-high stockings/leggings combo paired with what looks like a school uniform skirt top.

Ultimate Talent and Abilities: Toko began to dabble in writing after her talent was discovered by her elementary school teachers through her love letter. She launched her literary career with a novel she published at the age of ten and established herself within the romance genre. Toko released her romance masterpiece, So Lingers The Ocean, which became popular among women and her character, fisherman, quickly shot to the top of every "Hottest Men" poll. She won countless literary prizes ever since, and her books are instant best-sellers. Two years later, Hope's Peak Academy recognizes her talent and scouts her as the Ultimate Writing Prodigy. Toko has written every single day since she became serialized, accumulating over 80 books by the events of Demon Hunting. Her other known titles include Blue Thread From the Scarred Mountain, her latest work, and The Family From the Day Before Yesterday, which was not given a synopsis due to Toko's prestigious name already guaranteeing her commercial success. She is fairly confident in her skills and maintains her writing quality through the sheer quantity of books she has published. In School Mode, Toko reveals that one of her stories involve her characters making flower garlands together. Toko attributes her "utter delusions" and "pure fantasies" as the reason she is able to write romance novels extremely well, rather than relying on her personal experiences, or rather her lack thereof as the few she has had were mostly traumatic. She states that her novels are depictions of her ideal world, and her delusions let her fall in love as much as her want, believing that she will never experience any romance in real life. She always has more than 200 ideas in stock and can feel creatively pent up when she doesn't pour her ideas onto a manuscript for an extended period of time. Furthermore, Toko's delusions can be in a slump if she feels happy and prevents her from writing romance novels, demonstrated during her School Mode's ending where Makoto and her ends up dating in this non-canonical scenario. In the main storyline, Toko reiterates the same hypothesis after feeling happier from befriending Komaru, though she reassures her that, as long as she maintains her confidence, it will not interfere with her writing abilities. Toko also states that her extraordinary birth and the negative feelings caused by daily stress help her write extraordinary novels. Although writing is therapeutic to her, remembering her past can adversely trigger a writer's block. During her Free Time Events, Toko takes Makoto's suggestion to write "from her heart" instead of relying on her delusions for the first time, and turns it into her first I-novel, in order to alleviate her writer's block. Makoto describes her I-novel to be heavily dark and distressing, but thoroughly engaging and masterpiece-worthy, which is similar to how Komaru describes So Lingers The Ocean. In School Mode, Toko explains that she finds it more interesting to explore what people consider ugly, and that through her writing, she wants to convey to her readers the beauty within that ugliness. Her Free Time Events is referenced while Toko travels with Komaru, where she decides against writing about Towa City and what happened to her and Komaru. However, should she change her mind, she prefers to keep it as a memory for herself. Toko is familiar with countless plot devices to the point she can easily predict the ending of a novel just by reading its synopsis, and accurately guessing them doesn't spoil her experience. However, it should be noted that she won't bother to read and is biased against anything that isn't what she considers as the "purest literature." Toko is also capable of writing poetry, and is knowledgeable about Norse mythology, Aesop's Fables or Mōri Motonari's "The Lesson of Three Arrows" in the original Japanese, and Bildungsroman, such as Herman Hesse's Beneath the Wheel and Wilhelm Meister's Apprenticeship She is also particular about her diction and would never misspeak intentionally. For example, she makes sure to use the plural form when describing her mothers and makes fun of Masaru when he refers to the colosseum as the "Killesseum."
