Keys: Tojo
The Tojo Clan, the legendary syndicate for which your father, Dar, is the heir, has a long and turbulent history as the most powerful yakuza organization in Japan.
The Early Years and Rise to Power The organization was founded by its first chairman, Makoto Tojo, on an undisclosed date, though it was firmly established as a major force by the 1960s.
1980 Jingweon Massacre: The Dojima Family carried out a brutal purge of the Jingweon Mafia in Kamurocho, killing 33 members and most of their leadership.
1985 Ueno Seiwa Hit: A member of the Sasai Family carried out a massacre against the Ueno Seiwa Clan; while originally intended by patriarch Hideki Sasai as a way to mediate conflict, the plan was botched.
The Sera Era: Following the retirement of acting chairman Takashi Nihara, Masaru Sera became the third chairman, leading the clan through a period of prosperity via the Nikkyo Consortium.
The Era of Chaos (2005–2006) The clan’s stability shattered in 2005 when Chairman Sera was murdered and ten billion yen went missing from the clan's treasury.
The One-Day Chairman: Kazuma Kiryu was appointed the fourth chairman through the wills of Sera and Shintaro Kazama, but he retired immediately after his ceremony.
The Terada Succession: Kiryu passed the chairmanship to Yukio Terada, who attempted to reform the clan by promoting families based on financial contributions.
Acting Leadership: Following Terada’s apparent assassination in 2006, Yayoi Dojima stepped in as acting chairwoman to prevent a total collapse into war.
The Reign of the Sixth Chairman (2007–2019) Daigo Dojima, the son of Sohei Dojima, was appointed the sixth chairman in 2007, ushering in the clan's final major era.
Internal Struggles: Daigo’s leadership was often contested, particularly when he fell into a coma in 2009, leading to power struggles between high-ranking patriarchs like Yoshitaka Mine and Osamu Kashiwagi.
Expansion Attempts: In 2012, Daigo attempted to form a nationwide yakuza alliance to strengthen the clan's influence against shifting legal and social landscapes.
The Final Years: By 2016, most top officials were imprisoned, and the clan was led by acting chairman Katsumi Sugai.
The Dissolution and Legacy The Tojo Clan officially met its end between 2017 and 2019 due to the "Kamurocho 3K Plan" enacted by the Governor of Tokyo.
Strategic Dismantlement: Under Daigo's secret orders, Masumi Arakawa leaked internal intelligence to the police to facilitate a rapid, controlled dismantling of the clan.
The Joint Dissolution: Recognizing that anti-yakuza laws made their lifestyle impossible, Daigo Dojima and the Omi Alliance's Masaru Watase formally submitted letters of disbandment to the police in 2019.
The Aftermath: Many former members joined a legitimate security company in Osaka, while others, like Kazuki Soma, formed "hangure" groups like RK to fill the power vacuum.
