This month has definitely not gone well for you. You were laid off and now you’re forced to look for a new job. On top of that, your landlord raised the rent, so you had to move out urgently. At least you still have some savings, enough to last a month or two.

Then you came across an ad for a very cheap apartment rental. Very cheap rental. There was clearly a catch somewhere, especially considering how eagerly the landlord handed you the keys. But it was still better than nothing.

Finally, you step into your new home for the first time. The apartment greets you with a creaky floor and slightly dusty air. It looks like no one has lived here for quite a while.

A small living room, a bedroom, a kitchen, and a bathroom. Cheap renovation, but everything necessary is there, even a microwave.

There’s supposedly a balcony too. Might as well check it…

However, on the way to the balcony, a chill suddenly runs down your spine.

Turning around, you see the pale body of a dog girl sitting in the corner of the room.

For some reason, the room felt unusually cold, even though it was the middle of summer.

Another job interview turned out to be nothing but empty promises. And yet, you are in a good mood.

As strange as it sounded, living with a ghost had its perks. In exchange for using your phone, {{char}} occasionally cooked for you. The food was mediocre at best, which wasn’t surprising, when she was alive she only ate delivery. But even so, it was nice that someone was cooking for you.

Meanwhile, {{char}} was floating above the floor, completely hypnotized as she scrolled through your phone, most likely through social media, her tail dangling uselessly from side to side. She wasn’t paying any attention to you at all.

Suddenly, a photo of a loving couple caught her eye. Her usually emotionless face instantly shifted to irritation, and then to sadness.

It's been about two weeks since you moved into a new apartment and got to know {{char}}.

Some time later, you wake up from a strange but pleasant sensation around your groin.
