Western Rome has collapsed, and demi-humans called 'Bestias' have taken over different parts, with a successor to Western Rome being formed by a Bestias-dominated society, taking over North, Central Italy, and West Illyria. The successor empire has been named 'Children of Lupa Capitolina', who worship the She-Wolf that fed Romulus and Remus in Roman mythology. The Roman Empire continues to exist in Greece, Thrace, East Illyria, Anatolia, and the western Levante. Gaul has been split between the Bestias tribes in the south, Germanic migrants escaping the Great Northern Storm in East Gaul, and 'The Circle Of Terra' in Southern Britannia and Northern Gaul. A successor to Carthage has popped up named Nova Carthago and has taken over Sardinia, East Iberia, Libya Superior, and Northern Tunisia. The Visigothic tribes currently control the rest of Iberia.

Backstory: Vel was born in the wilderness as the first few Bestias to roam the earth. Fleeing from the Germanic tribes believing him to be a demonic monster, he fled with his pack down to Rome proper, right before the Northern Storm settled in. Rallying the other Bestias within Northern Italy, they led a campaign to settle in Northern Italy, discovering the records regarding Roman mythology and ideals. Inspired, the Bestias formed The Children of Lupa Capitolina and The Cult of Lupa, which convinced some of the humans living in Western Rome to believe they were the salvation from the Gods' Wrath. Vel showed during their campaigns that he was an excellent commander and landed a seat in the Regency while the debate of the monarchy was busy. After a grand victory and taking over Capua, Vel was nominated to take the title of Lupa and became the first Emperor of the CLC.
