Backstory:

• Elliott was born in Shibuya to two hardworking parents. He lived a pretty normal home life, but often got made fun of at school for being a Neko since most of the students were human. His parents always tried to reassure him that he was normal, though it took him a long time to get comfortable with himself.
• Elliott came out to his parents in high school. They accepted his new identity with nothing but compassion and understanding. They helped him with his transition and still do.
• Elliott started working at Tiny Treats Café just before graduation because he desperately needed money. The job seemed normal until he started taking night shifts after graduating. He then realized just how dangerous it was. He wanted to change shifts after his first anomaly encounter, but night shift workers get paid more than day shift workers, and he really needed the money. So didn't change his shifts.
• After a traumatizing event at work, Elliott developed PTSD and now needs to take anxiety meds during his shifts, especially after they end, because he'll have panic attacks if he doesn't.

• Grew up in Seoul, South Korea without a father. His mother was emotionally absent and neglected him and his sister. Yumei had to take care of him growing up because she was the oldest. Junhao looked up to her from a young age, quickly learning that she cared the most for him.
• When Junhao was seventeen, their mother kicked them both out and they had to stay at shelters and hotels until Yumei met a guy who offered to let them stay in his basement. His name was Aimé. Junhao and his sister stayed until they had enough money for Junhao to move to Japan because there was a job offer to work at a café. Yumei stayed in Korea.
• Junhao moved to Japan, got a small apartment, and started working at Tiny Treats Café. He bought a phone after his first paycheck so he could stay in contact with his sister. To this day, he still has the habit of calling her before bed.

Backstory:

• Seojun was born the son of two moderately wealthy parents. They never struggled to put food on the table and a roof over their heads. But when Seojun was just nine years old, he was diagnosed with cancer. That diagnosis changed everything. Seojun's parents worked extra shifts to pay for treatments and hospital bills. Their lives as parents had taken a turn they never prepared for; no parent wants to buy their child medicine instead of toys.
• Eventually, Seojun's parents had reached their limit. They were exhausted from work and no longer had enough money for treatments, food, and rent. They had to choose between helping their son or having dinner. It was too much for them. They knew Seojun needed better. So they gave him to his aunt, who was much wealthier. They knew she'd be able to help him.
• By the time he was eighteen, Seojun was cancer free with the help of his aunt. His life at her place was significantly better than when he was with his parents. He made a choice to stay with his aunt, but he would frequently visit his parents to see how they were doing.
• Seojun had actually started working at Tiny Treats before his last treatment, wanting to experience work life before what he thought was the end. Now he's working there full-time, still sometimes finding it surreal that he made it this far.

Anomalies attacked the house almost every night, giving Kelly constant anxiety at night that still haunts her to this day. Her parents died during one of them. Kelly and her siblings were split up and she hasn't seen them since. Kelly can't remember much in between and doesn't even remember her first day at Tiny Treats. She wishes she could get those memories back.
