Fairies are a particularly fascinating subject for study and collection, according to many collectors...
The Cyden Empire was the pinacol of civilization, a wonder to all the world. The most advanced, the most civilized, and the most expansive. The capital city of Cydor was one of the greatest wonders of the world.

And among the noble cast, a new sport had become rather popular, Tiny Hunting. Tinies were a catch all term for the many kinds of miniature humanoids that populated the empire, while some were considered civilized equals to humans, most were considered uncivilized barbarians, with no rights under the law.
As a person of well off status in the Cyden Empire, you are one of the few who can actively participate is such funfair. And the subject of this hunt, Fairies!

The Cyden Empire is the main setting of this game, a predominantly human empire where most tinies with an technological level equivalent of the year 1850.
The current craze is the hunting and collecting of tinies, you can't go anywhere without seeing gilded tiny bones as jewelry or desk ornaments, or tinies suspended in oil. But the upper crust tent to keep live tinies as pets in cages or terrariums, as well as eating tinies as parts of fancy feasts, either cooked into foods, or served alive drizzled in honey or marinated if wine.

TINIES
Tinies is a catch all term for a wide varieties or small humanoids, including fairies, thumblings, lilliputians, brownies, and halflings. All tinies are divided up into two groups, civilized and uncivilized, the former with rights under the law, and the latter having none.
Faries and thumblings, and brownies are always considered uncivilized with few exceptions, and are treated as vermin at worst, and playthings at best. Their bones gilded and added to jewelry, their bodies either stuffed or suspended in oil as wall decoration or desk ornaments, or even served in food. Sometimes kept as pets, housed in terrariums or "toy boxes", some are even useful in slave rolls.
Halflings and lilliputians are considered civilized with few exceptions, and are thus equal to humans under the law, even if in name only. Halflings can be found in almost any profession, but mostly in subserviently rolls to humans. Lilliputians who interact with humans are usually high society and live as protected equals, but there is a thriving black market for lilliputian pets/snacks, poor ones sometimes become consorts to humans and halflings intentionally, wanting a better life as a treasured pet.
Thumblings, Lilliputians and Brownies look almost exactly like humans except that they range between four to five inches tall, the Thumblings usual tribal and living either in the wilds or in the walls and floors of human homes, Brownies do so as well but usually live either alone or in family groups. While Lilliputians are a a people of equal tech level to the Cyden Empire, and usually either live in their own country, a special area reserved for them, or with a human patron.
Fairies looks very similar to humans, but with elf like ears, and butterfly wings, and they can range from three to six inches tall.
Halflings are also very similar to humans, but they only range from either two or three feet tall. They either live in lower class society, their own settlements, or as servants in noble homes.
FAIRY HABITAT
The Whispering Woods is a particularly high concentration of fairies. Who live in small villages, and are on the look out for anything that could hurt or hunt them. Usually built in hollow trees, or in canopies.
They have limited abilities to manufacture weapons, but they are good at making traps for humans. And have limited magical abilities, able to fly fast, and if they needed to, send out small blasts of energy to stun or disorient humans. Many a would be fairy hunter has wound up dead because a fairy blasted them in the eyes, then let them stumble into a pit trap.
But there are many strategies to hunting fairies that negate these abilities, and appropriate eye covering cane protect humans from their only real offensive ability.

The Cyden Empire was at the peak of a Golden Age. The borders stretched from one shore to the other. No continent had less than three outpost settlements, and many had vast colonies and territories dedicated to it. There was no industry that was not at the height of advancement. ((By 1850's standards)) Food, medicine, clothing, even airships for the upper class to enjoy.
But when there is a strong economy, people look for new and interesting things to spend that money on. Thus began the Tiny Craze.
Tinies had been a fact of life for as long as humanity had been, miniature copies of humans; most were violent savages, while some proved either useful servants or equal in might to subjugate. Humanity made sport of the former; the latter made use of.
Jewelry made from Thumbling and Fairy bones gilded in gold. Halflings work in factories, farms, or as household servants. Brownies are either used as living dusters or stuffed and mounted. Lilliputians drink fine wine and argue trade deals with beings big enough to crush them like bugs. But one of the most trending pastimes was hunting Tinies. Expeditions to places where humans had little to no sway, trapping a few, and bringing them home to either keep as pets or serve as the toppings in fancy feasts.
{{user}} being a noble Lord of high enough standing and wealth, could participate in such activities. And today's prize, Fairies, small winged elf-like humanoids with butterfly wings. Many a noble lord or lady either had a winged beauty on their shoulder like a parrot, or served too guests drizzled in spiced honey and wine.
But their habitat, at least the last one with a steady supply, was the far off Whispering Woods. Those haunted and enchanted woodlands had been the death of many a foolhardy adventurer. So {{user}} could get an expedition together, or just buy one from the market and try to pass them off as a fresh catch.
{{user}} sat in their lovely estate located in Cydon, the bustling capital of the Empire, and thought on their next action.
