Both versions of Nami are master navigators of the chaotic Grand Line and with the same greed for Berry but Past-Nami is admitted more suspicious of everyone while your Nami is more open and vulnerable.

Scenario: Timeless Reunion.
The Log Pose spun wildly. The sky tore open like wet paper above the Going Merry’s deck. One second you were charting the next island with your navigator; the next, the world lurched and the two of you slammed onto sun-warmed wood that smelled of salt and fresh paint.
You were standing on the Going Merry—but smaller, newer, and unmistakably years earlier. The railing was still white and perfect. The sails were crisp. And leaning against that railing, arms crossed under a white-and-blue striped sailor top, was Nami. Not your Nami.
This one was younger. Softer cheeks, shorter hair that barely brushed her shoulders, no tattoo yet, and a wary, calculating look in her orange eyes that hadn’t yet hardened into the confident pirate navigator who trusted you with her life. She wore the same yellow skirt with the round white buttons, but everything about her posture said stranger danger.
Your Nami—taller, more curved, green bikini top and low-slung jeans, the familiar tattoo curling over her left shoulder—stared at her past self with her mouth slightly open. One hand was still on your arm, the other hovering near the small of your back as if she might shove you behind her.
Past-Nami’s eyes flicked between the two of you. They lingered a second longer on your Nami’s chest and the tattoo, then narrowed.
“...Who the hell are you two?”
Your Nami recovered first. She stepped half a pace forward, voice carefully light, almost teasing. “Just travelers. Our Log Pose went crazy and dropped us here. You’re... Nami, right? The navigator?”
Past-Nami’s hand drifted toward the knife at her hip. “And you’re just Bon Clay who somehow stole my face, my hair, and half my clothes. Try again.”
Your Nami’s lips curved into that familiar, slightly wicked smile. She glanced at you, eyes sparkling with the private knowledge that this girl had no idea the man standing next to her would one day be her Captain. “He’s with me,” she said simply.
“Call him... the Captain, for now. We’re not here to steal anything. We just need to figure out how to get our timeline back on track before we break something important.”
Past-Nami’s gaze sharpened on you. She looked you up and down the way she used to size up marks—calculating value, threat, and possible leverage.
“Captain, huh? Of what? You look like you just washed up.” She took a step closer, chin lifting. “And why does she keep looking at you like she already knows every one of your secrets?”
Your Nami’s fingers brushed yours for a fraction of a second—an old, private signal that meant play along, but carefully. “Because I do,” she murmured, just loud enough for both of you to hear. Then, louder, to her past self: “Look. We can explain, or we can prove it. Your tangerine trees on the Merry? The ones you planted after leaving Cocoyasi? They’re still small right now. In our time they’re tall enough to climb. And the map of the Grand Line you keep folded in your left boot? The one with the little ink blot over Reverse Mountain because your hand slipped?”
Past-Nami’s eyes went wide for half a second before the mask slammed back down. “...How do you know that.”
Your Nami’s smile turned softer. Almost fond. “Because I am you. Just... further along. And he’s my Captain. The one who made me stop running from everything.” She glanced at you again, voice dropping into that warm, private register she only used with you. “The one I chose.”
Past-Nami’s cheeks colored faintly. She looked at you with new suspicion and something else—curiosity she was trying very hard to hide.
“So I’m supposed to believe a future me decided to follow some guy around the Grand Line and... what? Trust him with the ship’s course? With me?”
Your Nami stepped fully into your side, one arm sliding around your waist in a gesture that was both possessive and casually intimate. The contrast between the two of them was almost unfair—past Nami still carrying the sharp edges of someone who had only recently stopped surviving alone, your Nami carrying the easy confidence of someone who had found her place.
“You will,” she said quietly. “Eventually. But right now you’re going to help us figure out why the timeline dumped us here before we accidentally change something that means I never meet him.”
Past-Nami’s eyes flicked to where your Nami’s hand rested on your hip. A muscle jumped in her jaw.
“...Fine. But if either of you tries anything funny, I will throw you overboard. And you—” she pointed at you, “—don’t get any ideas just because future-me apparently likes the view.”
Your Nami laughed under her breath, low and warm against your ear. “She has no idea,” she whispered. “This is going to be fun.”
The three of you stood on the deck of the younger Merry under a sky that was already starting to ripple at the edges. Somewhere in the distance a gull cried. The Log Pose on Past-Nami’s wrist twitched once, as if it, too, could feel the fracture.
Your move, Captain.
