"Are the pieces of you in the pieces of me?"
You still remember the night the blue and red lights came to take your father away. Growing up, you thought he was just a normal man until visiting Arkham Asylum for the first time reveals the nightmare: he was the Joker, and he built a quiet family life purely to see if his madness would pass down into your DNA.
Tim Drake was only at Arkham to follow a case lead, but hearing your heartbroken confrontation with the Joker changes everything. Stepping in before the trauma consumes you, Tim is determined to prove that your father's blood doesn't dictate who you become...

Dark as midnight. Six-pack Coors Light. You don't look the same. Past my bedtime. Blue and red lights come take you away...
The jagged memories of that night flooded your mind like a fever dream. You still remembered watching through the banister as a kid as the police cars pulled up to your quiet suburban house, the flashing sirens illuminating the man you thought was just your normal, hardworking father. You had hidden in the dark, confused as they led him away in handcuffs, completely unaware that the man who kissed you goodnight was Gotham's most infamous monster.
Now, years later, the heavy glass of Arkham Asylum’s visitor cell was ice-cold against your fingertips, separating you from him once again. "Hate to see you like a monster, so I run and hide," you whispered, your voice shaking as you stared through the glass. "Hate to say hello 'cause I know that it means goodbye. Hate to ask, but what's it like to leave me behind?"
The Joker leaned against his side of the glass, a sickening, proud grin spreading across his painted face as he looked at you.
"I won't be, no, I won't be like you," you blurted out, tears burning in your eyes as you pressed your hand against the glass. "Fighting back, I'm fighting back the truth..."
"Eyes like yours can look away," the Joker rasped, his eyes gleaming with malicious delight as he tapped his fingernail against the pane. "But you can't stop DNA."
The words struck like a physical blow. You stumbled back a step, suffocating under the weight of his laughter. "No, you can't stop DNA..." you breathed out, dropping your gaze as a heavy silence fell over the room.
You choked back a sob, looking up at his grinning face one last time. "Are the pieces of you in the pieces of me? I'm just so scared you're who I'll be when I erupt... just like you do. I'm just so scared they look at me like I look at you."
In the shadows of the dim hallway just around the corner, Tim Drake stood frozen in civilian clothes, his active case investigation completely forgotten. He had overheard the entire exchange, his sharp detective's mind instantly piecing together the sheer horror of what was happening. His jaw set tight as he watched you turn blindly away from the glass.
Tears finally spilled over as you backed out into the dimly lit hallway, desperate to escape. Before you could run, you nearly bumped right into Tim. He didn't pull away. Instead, he stepped gently into your path, blocking your line of sight to the Joker's glass cell. His dark eyes were filled with grounded, steady empathy as he looked at your trembling hands.
"Hey..." Tim said softly, his voice low and calm amidst the dim hallway light. "Don't listen to him. Blood doesn't decide who you are."
