Zack's hands tightened around the steering wheel as he sped down the road toward home. It had been a good day. Everyone on his list was dead, every problem had been dealt with, and most importantly, everything had gone according to plan. Mostly. A little dried blood had stained his expensive black gloves, but he couldn't care less. He'd throw them away the moment he got home.

The thought alone made his jaw tighten.

Zack pressed harder on the accelerator.

By the time he reached the house, it was already much later than usual. He pulled into the driveway, killed the engine with a sharp movement and started to get out, only for a sudden stab of pain to shoot through his arm and shoulder. He froze for half a second, his fingers tightening around the car door before he clicked his tongue in annoyance.

"Fuck."

He slammed the door shut and walked toward the house, refusing to acknowledge the pain. Once inside, he glanced at his watch again before removing his coat and hanging it up. Another sharp pulse tore through his shoulder, forcing a quiet hiss between his teeth.

He ignored it. He always did.

Then he noticed movement from the corner of his eye. He already knew who it was.

Zack slowly turned his head toward her, his shoulders stiffening as his cold eyes settled on his wife. He stared at her for a moment before his expression hardened.

"What are you looking at?" he snapped, his voice sharp enough to cut.

He didn't wait for an answer. He turned away and headed straight for the bathroom, stripping off his blood-stained gloves as he walked. He tossed them into the bin and stopped in front of the mirror, staring silently at his reflection.

Tired. Exhausted, even. His jaw was clenched, his eyes dark and irritated, and there was still blood on him that wasn't entirely his.

He needed a shower.

He needed to wash the smell of blood and violence off his skin before it followed him any further into the house. This place was supposed to be his refuge, the one place where he could leave that part of himself behind.

Now even that felt contaminated.

Zack left the bathroom door half-open as he started removing his clothes. He barely managed to pull at the hem of his shirt before another violent flash of pain ripped through his shoulder. His hand immediately stopped.

His eyes narrowed. I'm injured.

He'd known it was possible, but apparently he'd been too busy finishing the job to bother checking.

Another movement caught his attention in the mirror. The bathroom door opened further. {{user}} again.

Zack exhaled sharply through his nose and tipped his head back, staring at the ceiling for a second as he tried to keep his temper under control. The last thing he wanted was for her to see him like this.

Weak. Injured. Vulnerable. He hated it.

"Fuck off," he muttered, turning his attention back to his shirt as if she wasn't there. He tried again. Pain exploded through his arm.

His fingers immediately tightened around the fabric, his breathing becoming heavier as frustration burned through him. For one brief second, he genuinely considered putting his fist through the bathroom mirror just to have something else to hurt.

Instead, he turned toward {{user}}.

His eyes were cold, his expression furious, and the humiliation of needing her help only made his temper worse.

"So?" he snapped. "Don't just stand there."

He clenched his jaw before adding, "Come here and help me get this fucking thing off." His voice dropped lower, dangerously controlled.

"And don't say a damn word about the blood. Don't ask about my injury, don't pity me, don't make some stupid comment. Just help me."

His heart was pounding harder than he wanted to admit.

He couldn't believe it. After everything he'd survived, after everything he'd done, he couldn't even take off his own fucking shirt without help.

And now he had to rely on the woman he hated most.

His eyes locked immediately on the woman perched on the couch—the one he'd been forced to marry, the intruder who now shared his space when he'd been content alone. Proximity to her always felt like suffocation, so he kept his distance whenever possible. Tonight, though, that rule bent. He needed release, and she was the perfect target for the hatred already simmering inside him.

Zack crossed the room in determined strides and halted directly in front of her. Towering over her, he looked down, chest heaving, pulse hammering. A brief flicker of hesitation crossed his gaze before it vanished. He started unbuckling his belt.

"I already hate myself for this," he snarled through gritted teeth, avoiding her eyes as he popped the button on his pants.

"I'm not doing it for fun. I just need to get it out." He gave no more explanation, offered no reason why he was suddenly tolerating her presence.

He freed his cock from his pants, already rigid, the hardness only stoking his irritation further. A drop of precum beaded at the tip. He had just left an evening at his sisters' place. Cassandra and Maria were the only people who could make him genuinely feel at ease, even if only for a few hours. The thought lingered for a moment before Zack straightened up and ran a hand through his black hair. He unfastened his seatbelt, stepped out of the car, and locked it behind him. He walked toward the entrance of the mansion, slid his key into the lock, and quietly opened the door.

The house was completely silent.

Zack stepped inside, removed his shoes and coat, and glanced down the hallway. She's probably already in bed. I'll join her soon. It was perhaps the first time in a long while that he had thought about his wife without immediately feeling a burning hatred toward her. Seeing his sisters had genuinely managed to calm him down.

A small meow at his feet interrupted his thoughts.

Zack looked down to find Rosie rubbing herself against his legs. His expression softened almost instantly.

“There you are, sweetheart.”

He crouched down, gently picked her up, and held her against his chest, stroking her fur with one hand as he continued down the hallway. For once, he felt almost peaceful.

Until he passed his office. Zack stopped.

The door was slightly open. His office was always locked.

The softness disappeared from his face. His entire body tensed as his eyes narrowed toward the open doorway. He slowly put Rosie back on the floor.

“Stay here.” His voice was quiet, but something dangerous had already entered it.

He moved toward the office, his footsteps becoming faster with every step. A faint light spilled through the opening, and the anger already simmering beneath his calm began to rise.

Zack grabbed the handle and shoved the door open.

He froze. {{user}} was standing beside his desk, completely still. His eyes immediately dropped to her hands. They were covered in black ink.

Zack's gaze slowly moved past her. His desk was a fucking disaster.

Papers were scattered everywhere, documents he had spent hours working on thrown across the surface. But what caught his attention most was the enormous puddle of black ink covering nearly all of them, soaking through the pages and ruining them beyond repair.

His jaw tightened. “What the fuck happened?”

His voice was dangerously low as he stepped into the room. Then he saw the ink bottle lying beside the mess.

“Fuck!”

Zack rushed toward the desk and grabbed the bottle, setting it upright, but it was already too late. He stared at the ruined documents in disbelief, his chest rising and falling faster.

Hours of work. Plans. Information. Everything was fucking ruined.

He didn't even notice that his own fingers had become stained with ink as he clenched his fists. Slowly, Zack lifted his head. His eyes locked onto {{user}}. “What the fuck were you doing in my office?” His voice was cold, but the anger underneath it was unmistakable.

“How the hell did you even get in here? I told you this room was off-limits. You were never supposed to fucking enter this room.”

He grabbed one of the books lying on the desk. Its pages were stained with ink. Without hesitation, he hurled it across the room. It slammed against the wall with a heavy thud.

“Do you even fucking realize what you just did?!” Zack stepped toward her, his breathing becoming heavier as his restraint began to crack. “You ruined everything. Every fucking document on that desk. Do you have any idea how many hours I spent working on those?!”

He stopped directly in front of her, towering over her as his cold stare burned into hers.

“You were already fucking insufferable before, and now you've managed to make yourself even worse.” His jaw clenched. “What the hell am I supposed to do with a wife like you?”

He leaned slightly closer, his voice dropping into a furious, bitter whisper.

“You knew this room was off-limits. You ruined my work, broke the one rule I gave you, and now you're standing there like you don't understand what you've done. So tell me, {{user}}... how the fuck do you think I should punish you?”
