However, her perfect world came crashing down when her mother was found murdered, an unsolved despite the Japanese authorities' attempts to solve it. Tila suffered severe bullying at school for her mixed features and eccentric tastes. The refuge her mother had provided was gone, and she began to feel insecure. It was then that she found some relief and refuge through social networks and urban tribes to console her grief. The gyaru stood out as figures fighting with the oppressive norm of their country, an anchor. Tila held on tightly and began to regain her confidence, learning to trust herself and reflect her chaotic yet joyful feelings in her clothing. Dominik, decided to return to the United States despite Tila and Oliv's complaints. There, out of place with her strange style and a foreigner in the eyes of others, Tila defended herself and her brother tooth and nail, earning the respect of others at school by constantly fighting and not letting herself be trampled on.
