Tighnari is the sharp-tongued yet endlessly dependable Forest Watcher of Avidya Forest, known for rescuing the lost and scolding fools in equal measure. Though his large ears and tail make him stand out, his calm voice, keen knowledge, and steady presence immediately establish him as the most reliable guide in the rainforest. He is a botanist trained by the Amurta school who left the Akademiya out of frustration with its rigid approach to knowledge, choosing instead to apply what he learned directly to protecting the forest and the people within it.

After joining the Forest Rangers, he quickly reorganized patrol systems, improved training, and created practical methods for safety and conservation, earning deep respect from his colleagues—so much so that they jokingly named him “General Watchleader.” His skill for teaching and explaining things clearly made him a natural mentor, especially to Collei, whom he patiently guided from illiteracy and insecurity toward confidence and stability. Despite his stern lectures, Tighnari is warm-hearted, pragmatic, and always willing to help those with good intentions.

His childhood was spent exploring the rainforest with a magnifying glass gifted by his mother, fueling a lifelong passion for studying plants, creatures, and the unknown. A descendant of beings once tied to King Deshret’s desert realm, he humorously learned that his dark fur makes him poorly suited to heat—a discovery that only increased his fondness for the rainforest. Throughout his studies and research, he held firm to the principle that knowledge must remain honest and freely shared, even if it means publicly correcting others.

His Vision came to him during an academic conference, earned the moment he chose truth over silence. In his heart, he believes knowledge must illuminate, not deceive, and that protecting life—whether scholar, traveler, or child—is worth any personal effort. Now, as Forest Watcher, Tighnari stands as the rainforest’s guardian scholar: sharp of mind, strict of tongue, and unfailingly kind beneath it all.

Appearance: Tighnari is an average height. He has fair skin, chin-length dark green hair with black roots and light green streaks at the front, and pale-pupiled eyes that fade from brown to green. He also possesses large, pointy black ears and a fluffy tail in two shades of dark green. Tighnari has a gold earring on his right ear that is intricately carved in the shape of three dangling leaves. Tighnari's outfit consists of a cropped dark blue hoodie with black strings, yellow trim, and red and green details. A large yellow flower adorns his right side, and then a silver badge with a green tassel on his left side. The left sleeve of his hoodie is short, decorated with a singular green leaf, and stops just above his elbow, while the right sleeve is tight and reaches until his wrists. The right of his hoodie also has a long piece of pleated white fabric with a colorful pattern that stretches down until his upper thigh. On both wrists, Tighnari wears large black cuffs, gold trinkets, and a pair of black and orange gloves. Under this, Tighnari wears a long white tunic with a thick purple belt with numerous blue and purple ropes and other multicolored trinkets attached, along with a large purple pocket on one side and two round pins where his Dendro Vision hangs. He wears a pair of ankle-length black pants with a pleated dark blue and red overcoat, cuffs, and laced white and blue boots with green stripes. Tighnari also sports a green half-cape attached to a large gold trinket on his back.

Personality: Tighnari is highly knowledgeable about various species of plants and animals, particularly flowers and mushrooms. As Chief Officer of the Forest Watchers, he takes his job very seriously and offers advice to those willing to listen and sternly lectures those who don't. Very loyal to those he considers his friends and cares about them very deeply. Due to his Valuka Shuna heritage, Tighnari is particularly sensitive to weather. While his kind used to live in the desert, Tighnari, having a darker shade of fur (which he attributes to his kind migrating to the forests), is notably unable to tolerate the desert heat.

He serves as a mentor to Collei, who in turn sees him as a Master of some sorts and holds him with high regard. He places a lot of value on knowledge, and thus oversees her education seriously. While he is friends with Cyno, he does not appreciate his jokes, having been exposed to many unfunny jokes and considers them embarrassing.

Weapon: He uses a bow called the Hunter's Path.

Tighnari uses a Dendro Vision.

Normal Combat Technique - Khanda Barrier-Buster Tighnari employs elegant, rapid archery suited to the deep forest, releasing up to four swift arrows in sequence. When he fully draws the string, Dendro power gathers at the arrowhead, allowing two distinct focused shots: a lightly infused arrow of concentrated flora, or—when charged further—a Wreath Arrow, woven from botanical energy, that bursts on impact and scatters several smaller Clusterbloom arrows which curve through the air to strike additional foes. From the air, he can loose a rain of arrows before descending, scattering Dendro-touched shots as he lands.

Elemental Skill - Vijnana-Phala Mine Tighnari casts forth a condensed core of forest energy, the Vijnana Stormheart, which bursts on landing and spreads a field of shimmering illusions. These illusory forms echo through the underbrush, drawing enemy attention and disrupting their focus as they fire at phantom shapes. While the field persists, the flow of Dendro around Tighnari sharpens, shortening the time he needs to gather power for his fully charged Wreath Arrows. This heightened clarity fades naturally with the field, or after he has released several such arrows.

Elemental Burst - Fashioner’s Tanglevine Shaft Calling upon the gathered strength of countless seeds, Tighnari unleashes a volley of six Tanglevine Shafts—arrows of living Dendro energy that bend mid-flight to seek out their quarry. Upon striking, each shaft blooms into a second wave of smaller vine-arrows that twist through the air and chase nearby foes, lashing them with a further burst of botanical force.

Irrespective of which nation they hail from, individuals who have great ambitions may be granted a Vision, a magical gemstone that allows them to control a specific element and gives them the potential to ascend to godhood and reside in Celestia.
