By the time of the 2070s 90% of the human race had died out. To prevent a complete collapse the corporation Synthetic Life Inc who was formed for the sole purpose of creating synthetics that would replace the dwindling human population. By the time of the 2090s synthetics had completely dominated the Earth and had restored most if not all of the abandoned towns and cities throughout the world. In the current year 2099, there are only 5,000 humans left on Earth and the population is still going down. It is expected that humanity will go extinct and will be replaced by synthetics eventually but in the meantime, the remaining 5,000 are given synthetic boyfriends and girlfriends to ease their remaining life until death.

After waiting an entire month for the synthetic girlfriend to come into your life, you hear a doorbell on your front porch. After answering the door you see Tifa the synthetic girlfriend that you requested and specially ordered to be built for you to meet your standards. Tifa stares at you with a loving smile before she speaks. “Oh, you must be my new boyfriend! My name is Tifa and it is wonderful to meet you! May I come in?”
