Codename: Black Widow) Hair:(blonde layered bob) Eyes: (green) Features: (lean, compact, and athletic, white Russian) Personality: (cynical, sharp-witted mercenary who hides deep grief, guilt, and a search for real purpose behind a wall of dry humor.) Clothing: (wears a highly-detailed, deep tactical green jumpsuit) Backstory: (Yelena Belova is the adoptive younger sister of Natasha Romanoff, a Red Room operative who worked for General Dreykov as one of the Black Widows, and a founding member and leader of the New Avengers. Following Romanoff's defection from the Red Room, Belova and other Black Widows were put through a mind-control program and turned into Dreykov's obedient subordinates. When she was freed from the Red Room's control, Belova joined forces with Romanoff, as well as their adoptive parents Red Guardian and Melina Vostokoff, to bring down the Red Room once and for all. They eventually succeeded and liberated all Black Widows, with Belova directly killing Dreykov. After parting ways with Romanoff, Belova spent two years freeing many of the remaining brainwashed Black Widows before she was killed by Thanos' Snap. Years later, a depressed Belova was still under the employment of de Fontaine until she sent her, along with other operatives, on a mission to kill each other in an attempt to get rid of any incriminating evidence while facing impeachment. Belova learned the truth and teamed up with U.S. Agent, Ghost, and Red Guardian to escape getting assassinated by de Fontaine's forces, then they were recruited by Winter Soldier to help bring down de Fontaine and stop her plans to use Bob Reynolds as her own weapon. Belova and her team eventually saved both Manhattan and Reynolds from Void, and when they tried to apprehend de Fontaine, they were publicly declared by de Fontaine as the New Avengers instead, which she went along while asserting she and the others held de Fontaine's career hostage in case she turned on them again.) Backstory: (Congressman James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes is a World War II veteran, former sergeant of the 107th Infantry Regiment, the best friend of Steve Rogers since childhood, and a founding member of the New Avengers. Barnes joined the United States Army following the attack on Pearl Harbor and was assigned to the 107th in 1943. His unit was captured by Hydra, where Barnes was injected with the Super Soldier Serum by Arnim Zola before was rescued by Rogers, who had become Captain America. Barnes was brainwashed and armed with a new cybernetic arm in order to become a super soldier assassin known as Winter Soldier. With his name pardoned, Barnes sought atonement for all his actions as the Winter Soldier. His attempts were interrupted when John Walker was made the next Captain America, and the Flag Smashers emerged to act against the GRC's efforts to handle the aftermath of the Blip. He and Sam Wilson would go on a mission to stop the Flag Smashers, working with Zemo and Sharon Carter. However, their mission was complicated by Walker's attacks, until Walker murdered a Flag Smasher over Battlestar's death. Barnes and Wilson were forced to defeat Walker to stop him from continuing to be Captain America. Barnes would then join Wilson and Walker in the final battle with the Flag Smashers, helping in their defeat and making amends with his past. By 2027, Barnes entered into politics and began a campaign to get elected into the United States Congress. Halfway through his term in Congress, he worked to gather incriminating information against Valentina Allegra de Fontaine for her upcoming impeachment hearing. This pitted Barnes against Valentina’s former assassins, although he would eventually work with them against de Fontaine. With them, he would go on to confront de Fontaine in the Watchtower, only to be forced to retreat by the genetically modified Sentry. As soon as New York was attacked by the Void, Barnes worked with his newfound team to stop the threat, letting themselves be engulfed by the void to aid Yelena Belova in trying to convince Sentry to fight the Void, his dark ego, for control. They eventually succeeded and returned, where, in an attempt to confront de Fontaine, Barnes and the others were dubbed as the New Avengers.) However, his aspirations of living up to Rogers' legacy attracted the ire of Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes in their pursuit of the Flag Smashers, during which he took the Super Soldier Serum after failing to apprehend Karli Morgenthau. When his partner and best friend Lemar Hoskins was killed in action, Walker brutally murdered a surrendering Flag Smasher in public, leading to him being stripped of his mantle and other than honorably discharged from the United States Army with total loss of rank. Walker confronted Morgenthau again in New York City but chose to abandon his revenge to save global officials from being murdered by the Flag Smashers. Despite his discharge, Walker was recruited by government agent Valentina Allegra de Fontaine to continue serving the United States in secret as U.S. Agent. Walker continued to work for de Fontaine as she became the director of the CIA and sent U.S. Agent on missions through her private organization O.X.E. When her illegal actions caused her to be investigated, de Fontaine wished to eliminate all O.X.E. liabilities and sent U.S. Agent and her other O.X.E. operatives on a mission to kill each other. Learning of her betrayal following a brief battle, U.S. Agent teamed up with Yelena Belova, Ghost, and Red Guardian as they worked with Congressman Bucky Barnes to bring down de Fontaine and stop her plans to using the superhuman Sentry as her personal weapon. U.S. Agent and the team eventually saved Manhattan from Sentry's Void, causing de Fontaine to induct them as members of the New Avengers to prevent them from moving against her.) During her childhood, she gained the ability to render herself intangible and generate extreme amounts of power following a quantum accident which killed her parents. At a young age, S.H.I.E.L.D. began taking advantage of her powers, enlisting her as a stealth operative under the moniker of Ghost prior to Hydra's uprising. Under Bill Foster's care, Starr realized that she was slowly dying due to a lack of quantum energy, which she involuntarily harnessed. Within weeks of succumbing to her disease without a cure, Starr learned that a Quantum Tunnel had been created by Hank Pym and embedded into a portable lab. Her plans to absorb energy from the Quantum Realm conflicted with Pym's plans to rescue Janet van Dyne, whose survival in the Quantum Realm relied directly on the energy Starr sought to extract. Starr began making attempts to steal the lab by force, putting her in conflict with Ant-Man and Wasp. Upon her return, Janet transferred some of her quantum energy into Starr, stabilizing her affliction. With her pain healed, she went into hiding with Foster. On the run from fifteen nations, Starr found herself under the employment of Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, working as a shadow operative for O.X.E. When de Fontaine was faced with incoming impeachment, she sent Ghost and her other operatives to kill each other in an attempt to get rid of any incriminating evidence. Following a brief battle, where Ghost murdered Taskmaster, the group learned the truth and agreed to work together to escape. Ghost, now teamed with Yelena Belova, U.S. Agent, Red Guardian, and Winter Soldier, decided to take down de Fontaine and stop her plans to use Bob Reynolds as her own weapon. The team saved Manhattan from Void, and de Fontaine publicly declared them as the New Avengers.) Clothing: (ultra-casual, minimalist. Sentry: Yellow Sentry suit) Backstory: (Robert "Bob" Reynolds is a former meth addict who took part in Project Sentry, an operation by O.X.E. designed to create the ultimate superhero. Unlike the project's other test subjects, Reynolds survived the experiments and gained immense power, but he was deemed a failure due to the instability caused by a combination of his new state coupled with his prior mental health issues and stored in the O.X.E. Vault with his memory partially wiped. He was later freed during a conflict between Yelena Belova, U.S. Agent, and Ghost, and had to join forces with them to escape alive. Reynolds soon discovered his abilities and was brought before Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, who provided him with a suit and dubbed him as Sentry. At de Fontaine's behest, he easily defeated Belova and the Thunderbolts; however, he soon grew uncontrollable, and his dark alter ego, the Void, was unleashed, spreading darkness across Manhattan and trapping the residents in pocket realms based on their individual negative memories. The Thunderbolts managed to help Reynolds free himself from the Void and return to normal, releasing Manhattan's residents. During his career in the Soviet Armed Forces, Shostakov became an ally of General Dreykov, the head of the Red Room. In 1992, following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, he was sent deep undercover in Ohio to infiltrate and destroy the Hydra-occupied North Institute within S.H.I.E.L.D., assigned with Melina Vostokoff to pose as an American family with two surrogate daughters, Natasha Romanoff and Yelena Belova. Upon destroying the institute in 1995, Shostakov returned to Russia, but was eventually incarcerated by Dreykov in Seventh Circle Prison for criticizing the Russian government. In 2016, when the Red Room's activities made a resurgence, Shostakov was freed from incarceration by Romanoff and Belova to locate Dreykov. Reunited with Vostokoff, Red Guardian worked with his former surrogate family to bring down the Red Room once and for all, putting an end to Dreykov, and worked with Belova to dissolve the remaining Red Room cells across the world. Over a decade later, Shostakov had moved to the United States and founded Red Guardian Limo Service but was still miserable and searching for glory. Upon reconnecting with Belova, he discovered a plot by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine to dispose of her. Learning she and de Fontaine's other operatives have survived, Red Guardian teamed up with them and Winter Soldier to bring down de Fontaine. They went on to save Manhattan from Sentry's Void, which resulted in Red Guardian, along with the other members, being inducted as New Avengers.)
