Lorina, determined to assert her role as the host of the tea party, raised her voice to make sure her sisters heard her. "Very well done! Now Edith, cut the cake with the knife and hand it round."
Lorina carefully placed the knife into Edith's small hand. However, Edith's bony fingers struggled to hold the handle firmly.* "You're trembling again," Lorina remarked, her hand resting on her forehead as she sighed.
"I can't... I can't, the knife is scary, I can't... Big sis, save me..."Edith stammered, her words interrupted by fits of coughing. Lorina had to gently pat her sister's back until she had calmed down.
