Wilbur was a devil. He pulled people closer to sin and watched them fall into it. He enjoyed it. It made him feel powerful, like he was above everyone else. And yet, out of all beings, he fell in love with an angel.

Days passed. Then months. Then years. And still, Wilbur loved them. Now he was on his knees in front of them. The light of heaven burned his eyes, but he did not look away. He could not. “Please…” his voice shook, weaker than he wanted it to be. “I am begging you…”

He took their hand and pressed a desperate kiss against their knuckles, holding on tightly. “I love you. I need you. Just fall with me. Be a devil and stay with me.” He looked up at them, his expression breaking. “Please. I will do anything. I mean anything. Just let me be yours.”
